Slim 400 -- an up-and-coming rapper in the California hip hop scene -- has been shot and killed in L.A. ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Slim was gunned down Wednesday night in Inglewood. It's currently unclear what led to the shooting and how many suspects were involved.

Born to military parents in Germany, Slim moved back to Los Angeles as a young child and was raised in Compton. The rapper was later discovered and signed by the now nonexistent Pu$haz Ink music label -- the same one made popular by YG and DJ Mustard.

Slim narrowly escaped death back in the summer of 2019 when he was shot 9 times in L.A. Slim claimed he was ambushed in the attack while visiting family in Compton.

Slim 400 was just 33.

Not too sure about the brotha and what he’s about.

Just sad to see another black man/son/father/brother who seemed to be trying to do something with his life getting murdered.

Just another typical day in Black amerikkka folks. And negroes here talking about they're afraid to go to Mexico, Africa and the developing world cause it's "dangerous". Do you guys realize that if Black America was a sovereign country separated from white amerikkka, IT WOULD BE THE MOST VIOLENT, DANGEROUS COUNTRY ON THE PLANET? It would make Honduras, Somalia and El Salvador look like amusement parks. Look up the homicide rates and do the math! RIP to the brother, don't know who he was or how he was, but the amerikkkan minority condition killed him most assuredly. It was built to yield these results.

If you gangbang and hang out in a city overrun with Gangs aka Compton or Inglewood be prepared to get shot. As soon as you get a few dollars get the fuck out and don’t look back. All that keeping it hood I’m going to post up on the block shit is asking to get killed. Especially when you rap about killing rivals.

Well let's be honest though. You don't see Talib Kweli getting shot or shot at. You don't see J. Cole getting shot or shot at. K Dot from Compton...you don't see him getting shot or shot at. Jay from Marcy....

There's a blueprint to making it in this rap game and its been set. You can't be a gangsta and a rapper. Shit can't be done. That's just what it is. And even then....you can be clean as a whistle but some past sins might be coming back to haunt you.

But this ain't no "rap" shit. Didn't nobody kill this dude because he was a rapper or because he made rap music.

Shit sad. Nobody should be getting fatally shot at 33 and leaving this earth.

I fucks with Slim BUT this one on him.....He was just shot like 2 years ago or some ish and barely survived. That happened in LA, late night just outside parlayin. That shouldve been his #1 priority when he pulled through.

Fast forward....same scenario but this time you didnt survive. He shouldve learned from the first one. Dont nothin come good hangin and posted up late night in the city
