When you decide to cut off a group of people because of bad experiences when dealing with a small few from said group, you are, in essence, giving those few power over your life by allowing your experiences with them to block you from having potentially great relationships and or friendships...

I am going to Leona's for dinner tonight....Im going to eat the hell out of some lasagna and that good ass bread they have...:dance:put in an extra half hour at the gym to mitigate the damages..

I miss Leona's. . . . :(

I love their angel hair shrimp pasta. . .

You better watch your back Sean's spidey senses are tingling...
spidey_sense_400.jpg

:hmm: Nah he knows better. He's not eating other people's lasagna anymore . . only mine :hmm:

I'm scared of the swine flu:(

they want you to be...

:cool::yes:

Lone, the " regular " flu can kill you.

They just got another name for something to make you afraid. The kid 8 yr old or so who first had it, is fine now. They are only calling it swine flu because that child lived near a pig farm. * Rollseyes *

Plus it's Mexico, every day it goes down, yesterday it was over 100 people died from it, today, they say well it was really like 50.

When you are afraid, and I know why you are about swine flu might not be just about YOU, because you have a child.

But understand fear is the mind killer, the soul destroy and is a more effective weapon to destroy millions of people than a thousand megaton multiple warhead ICBM.

When you are afraid your body works differently. It does not grow, or rejuvenate, fear and anxiety slow and sometimes stop that process.

That is why the news is what it is. Bad news, and then commercials to sell you anti-depressants.

Don't spend 75% of you life worrying about something that will one day happen no matter what. Spend your time enjoying what has not happened.

I made peanut butter fudge tonight for the 1st time... one of my twitter friends gave me a nice simple recipe.. I used all the peanut butter I had left in my jar.. it was crunchy... the fudge came out good... great for a first try... It reminds me of this peanut butter mexican candy I used to eat back in junior high school..

I'm confused ...

I am up to date on the Sookie Stackhouse (true blood) books.. i can't wait for the next release.. i hope its not the last.. I can't believe i got caught up on these.. & my co-worker too.. damn.. today was like being in rehab without a book to read..I was twitching & jonesing..

I didnt read other random thoughts... I'll come back tomorrow for those..

The city of New Orleans is changing, it don't even sound the same. Three old mexican women speaking spanish and speaking it loud in the Walgreens on St. Bernard and Broad. Two country bama mothafuckas who talk like their collective tongues weight 200lbs having a conversation about ear wax next door to my aunt who lives in New Orleans East and black in the 9th Ward you have a white kid and a black kid skateboarding down Desire st. in loud colored skin tight jeans and a some beatnick looking fool walking around Carver High playing a guitar singing to himself.

What the fuck is this?

Am I the only person who got a coupon in their email about free chicken strips from Papa Johns with a large pizza?

Too much free chicken can't be good!

Exactly.

I know times are tough but...damn...

On another note I wonder if the crew of six to clean the pollen/sludge/trash/algae out of my complex's lake deterred anyone from fishing in it today. I can feel the 'voluntary' eviction/breaking of leases coming on strong in this one.

for that same 4.99 you can go buy a bag of chicken from the market and cook for your kids.

I haven't stepped on a scale in three months...I should do that just to make sure I ain't dreamin that my clothes are falling off of me now.

Losing weight is expensive but so necessary.

Am I wrong for being the one that doesn't respond well to peer pressure/nitpicking/nagging? Because you bitch at me to do something doesn't mean I'm going to do it. If anything I'll forget about it just to piss you off.

I'm trying to listen to the president but there are Mexicans playing music across the street...

I could do with out the hispanic community.

that is the same mentality that the white people have about the black community

I know...
But this neighborhood was nearly 100% black before Katrina, its now has Hispanics sprinkled in but still overwhelmingly black as is the rest New Orleans post-Katrina

Focusing on the young blacks
The young black people around here are respectful, despite how they may look, we don't play loud music, we don't make noise and we keep our lawns kept up and our children don't act up and if they do they are disciplined...

The mexicans consistently play loud music, they park on their lawns, the never cut their grass. They dry their clothes outside (which is fine) but they change clothes outdoors. I mean coming outside in their drawls and getting dressed outside in full view. A few times, about 3 or 4 times they've let a little boy about 3 years old run outside in the nude. WTF is that.

Now I just described young blacks ranging from 19 to 30, some with kids, some with out, some with jobs and some out of work..yet despite their collective situations they manage to stay respectful of the older people and the retirees and just about everybody around them. Why can't the mexicans do the same?

Replace "Mexican" with "Blacks"

Replace "dry" and "change" with "smoke"

Replace "getting dressed" with "smoking"

Replace "clothes" with "weed"

Now read that shit again.

Exactly. Factor in the cost of flour and grease to fry the fish, (you know they ain't searing or baking shit :hmm:), they spending more money fishing and cooking the shit every day than if they went to the store.

Something is not right. I don't mean to sound racist, (if it come off like that so be it), but my interactions and sightings of the Mexican community over the past ten years or so round Atlanta does NOT paint these people in a pretty 'I'm looking for a better life for me and my family' light. I'm sure that there are those that aren't making a cultural fool of themselves but the majority you can just shake your head at.

But then again I can say the same thing about some Black people.

Common sense, prior planning, and some determination can go a long way in everyday decisions.

Sean I'm from New Orleans, there isn't too much shit I haven't seen. I'm from the 9. Read my shit again...point I'm trying to make is, I live around people who work and people who are on section 8, I live around struggling married couples, struggling shacked up couples and I live around single mothers some with multiple kids and also because of the nature of how New Orleans is there are some people who are pretty set financially and some who are retired and living on fixed incomes all living in this same area.

Yet all these people, some of whom would normally be the butt of jokes and the scape goats of society are living decently and not bothering anybody and doing this in New Orleans of all places. Young bruhs aint blasting music loud when the come how from work at 9'o clock at night. People are keeping their houses and lawns and shit kept up, People don't bother other people.

Yet when you see the Hispanic family they have 2 or 3 stripped cars and live in a house that looks like Katrina hit it yesterday.

WTF...is that?

Sean you dont have to paint of picture of ghetto life for me. Like I said before I'm from New Orleans and there aint too much shit that I haven't seen.

Shit, if my hair did that in the morning when I wake up I wouldn't have a hair dilemma. Fuck a curl and press, I'd condition and let it go.

I cant believe there are schools in this country who don't even allow the students to pat each other on the back for congratulations or even other simple gestures as handshakes. What kind of parent would allow their kids to go to a school with no touching rules or where they are not allowed to play enjoyable childhood games like dodge ball? Then when the kid goes and shots up the school we ask questions like why/how could this happen.

^^^

That is laughable. Reminds me of Monk...

...MONK!!! IT'S THE FINAL SEASON! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:hmm:

But seriously, if a school institutes a no touching rule odds are they are afraid of something. And most likely the thing that they are afraid of happening is occurring, and they either don't know it or choose not to see it.

In other words all the students and teachers is fucking.

one of my former client's schools was like that. no touching, no hugging no this and no that

ridic

did that contribute to one of the reason that he/she was your client?

no but it did contribute to the school believing my client had some issues b/c they did not follow the rules. once they gave me a copy of their list of concerns there were a lot of "personal space" violations.

and ppl wonder y ppl are growing up detached lol

iono bout these schools between having 9,000 rules and then giving them tons of homework, they may be doing too much.

how much does the wind weigh???? A 100mph wind can rip a giant tree out the ground roots and all, but if i'm drying my car at 100mph and i hit that same giant tree my car and dead and most likely i am too.
