Ok, so my new favorite thing is Steve Harvey in the morning. For those of you who watch CSI this dude:
was on talking about his new book. Not only did he do his own research for it, (which I think this is going on my reading list), but dude is a Harvard law school grad, and he went to class with the President himself. At first I thought there was something a little too refined about him seeing him on the show and now I know why...

Just passing through in the afternoon. I hope everyone is doing well so far today. Tonight is the first night of regular season (American) Football......I've got some wings at home that will get attacked, but since I'm got drinking (at least until Saturday) I will have soda with them instead of beer. Either way it will be enjoyable...

Yeah, I'll do it like that tonight, but I'll have some drinks this weekend. I am also playing Fantasy Football for the first time this year. I won't get the full experience with that until Sunday. Kerry Collins is the only player on my team that's in tonight's game, but he's my backup QB. I'll log on to see how things work tonight though. There are a couple guys in our league who have players in tonight's game, so I'll keep an eye on their game to see what happens when their players do something. Hopefully that will give me an idea of what to look for when Sunday gets here...
9-11. A Reflection.
From March 10, 1995 to December 13, 2003, I was a member of the U.S. Army.
True story: September 11th. You know which year; I shouldn't have to tell you. I was working at the Pentagon at the time. The agency that I worked for at the time has offices inside the Pentagon. [Note: This is the same agency that my job takes me all around the world for]
On the morning of 9/11, I almost went to the Pentagon. I had to go to another site in Alexandria, Virginia. I thought about stopping by the Pentagon to check in with the crew there. I believe it was divine intervention that made me not go to the Pentagon that day. I'm not super-religious, but I do believe in God, and I pray to him on a regular basis.
I went on to the place in Alexandria. Well, many of you know what happend that day. I watch with many of you as the WTC Towers were destroyed. But it was my mother who told me of the attack on the Pentagon. She paged me: it was the only time she has ever paged me for an emergency.
No sooner than she told me of the attack, I was told to return back to Bolling Air Force Base in DC. The proverbial shit had hit the fan. Just trying get back to the base took me two hours.
I reflect back on that day, and I look at what is happening now. I have friends who are still in the military who are over in Iraq and Afghanistan. I pray that they return safely. And let me make this clear: I support the TROOPS, not the occupation. It is time to bring the guys and gals home.
Also, while I was in London recently, I visited the 9-11 Memorial Garden located at Grosvenor Square. A number of people from the UK died on 9-11. Their names are located on four plaques in the garden. It was hard to keep my emotion in check, standing in that garden.
Just take a moment to say a prayer for those that were lost. We tend to take life for granted. I do it too. But remember that life is a precious item. More valuable than diamonds.
If you have children, give them a hug, a kiss, and tell them you love them. If your parents are still amongst the living, do the same.
