Another chick who came under Prince's wing was Dale Bozzio. She was also well established before with Frank Zappa and then Missing Persons (who I did see in the mid-80s). She had a record with his Paisley Park label on which he wrote a few songs. I had it way back when. It wasn't bad.

how come prince never worked with a rapper??
He actually tried rapping himself, and had some wack rapper in the NPG who performed on "Get Off". But I think one of the reasons he fell off is because he never really adapted to the rise of hip-hop in the late 80s and early 90s.
yeah I remember that...
now that I think about it prince never really respected rap music..here's a dude who can play damn near 20 instruments many self taught so the idea of sampling and talking in syncopation to a beat must seem like romper room to him.

Lianne La Havas isn't a Prince protege. She had a career before they met.
