Prayers for Chris Johnson

I tried my best not to engage with someone who posted a similar comment elsewhere
and I’m gone take the high road because I know you mean well
But this has sparked a whole different conversation about “God “
Nawlins, what's the big deal? God is God, no matter what you call him. Whether it is Allah, Olodumare, Yahuah, or Brahman. None of us, and mean none of us have a monopoly on God.

Man nothing works. I hate to be Mr. Negative, but the reality is that nothing works.

At least nothing that I've seen. Once they tell you that you have it, it's a death sentence. They can only guesstimate how much time you'll have left.

And depending on the version that one has, it hits very fast. Last year he was a fully functioning adult, now he's a vegetable.

I've seen it first hand, you're a fully able adult. And less than a year later you can't even swallow food.

It's a very horrible disease with no cure in sight.

There's awareness, and also billions of dollars donated to science every year. But still no cure, the best they gave is small delays until the inevitable.
Something does work, chi kung. It may not save your life or give a cure but it keeps you active and cognitive for a good while.

I know I might’ve sounded negative.

But like many on here I’ve seen it first hand, and it just seems like nothing helps or helped.

Olodumare personally but it’s not a monopoly it’s that people were saying you’re paying to the same “being” that let this happen

Again to clarify my comment
Not to offend anyone or their beliefs
The comment that sparked the debate is that people pay to a God, deity, etc when it’s the same being that let it happen
The example that was used is, someone watches you get beat up and then you pray to them to take you to the hospital when they could’ve prevented the whole thing
The other debate was God is omnipresent all knowing nothing happens without his/her/etc permission
Why are babies getting molested killed etc

When the Yankees began their 1939 spring training in St. Petersburg, Florida, Gehrig clearly no longer possessed his once-formidable power. Even his base running was affected, and at one point he collapsed at Al Lang Stadium, then the Yankees' spring training park.

By the end of April, eight games into the season, Gehrig's statistics were the worst of his career, with one RBI and a .143 batting average. Fans and the press openly speculated on his abrupt decline. James Kahn, a reporter who wrote often about Gehrig, said in one article:

I think there is something wrong with him. Physically wrong, I mean. I don't know what it is, but I am satisfied that it goes far beyond his ball-playing. I have seen ballplayers 'go' overnight, as Gehrig seems to have done. But they were simply washed up as ballplayers. It's something deeper than that in this case, though. I have watched him very closely and this is what I have seen: I have seen him time a ball perfectly, swing on it as hard as he can, meet it squarely – and drive a soft, looping fly over the infield. In other words, for some reason that I do not know, his old power isn't there ... He is meeting the ball, time after time, and it isn't going anywhere.
Gehrig was indeed meeting the ball, with only one strikeout in 28 at-bats. However, with Gehrig hitless in five of the eight games, McCarthy found himself resisting pressure from Yankee management to switch his slumping player to a part-time role. Things came to a head when Gehrig struggled to make a routine put-out at first base. The pitcher, Johnny Murphy, had to wait for Gehrig to drag himself over to the bag so he could field the throw. Murphy said, "Nice play, Lou." Gehrig's later assessment was very dismissive. "That was the simplest play you could ever make in baseball, and I knew then: There was something wrong with me."

I typed out a longer response but deleted it.

Everyone's entitled to their beliefs, yourself included. The answers to your questions are out there, I imagine that you've found the answer but was unsatisfied.

Those weren’t my comments
I don’t believe in the Hebrew Bible God so it doesn’t effect me

Really? There is one God and many pertaining names. Every civilization has God and the name is different. But the concept of GOD comes from Black people. We are the creators so, our names are first. RA, Olodumare, etc. When we realize that, we are praying to the concept of the White man's God, we won't be so hung up on the names.
