Re: 50 Cent's New Show, POWER season premier

"I'll be the biggest goddamn drug dealer in NYC."

WOW! Real anticlamatic ending. Over the phone, maybe wire tapped and everything.

The writing leaves much to be desired.

Right, it was ONLY McNulty that knew what they were doing, and it was only because D'Angelo killed that guy in the lobby that really turned his nose up, lol!

Re: 50 Cent's New Show, POWER season premier

Some of you muthafuckas will complain about anything. Now its DWade is too old to be 50s son?

Since when do older actors not play well below their age on tv and film?

Since when is a 39 year old hood guy too young to have a 19/20/21 year old son??

You cats have become annoying as fuck with all this nitpicky ass criticism.

Why do some of you get upset at people being critical of this show?

I know it's a show with a mostly black cast, but that means you should lower your standards?

We do this shit with every other show on TV.

Some of the criticism is of things that are common practice in tv across the board. But some are overly critical as it pertains to this show. There are some legitimate gripes, but a lot of whats being discussed here is beyond petty.

Guys are now saying the driver is too old and 50 is too young to portray the dad of someone 20 years. On what planet?? Come on man. Foh!

Not to mention keone noted the same guy played a fucking teenager recently on a television show. All the whiney ass complaints are ridiculous man.

Not really. If you followed the arc of Ghost throughout the season, you'd know that this is the last thing he wanted to say or be. This season we got "let's be legit" Ghost, next season we're getting "animal drug ambition" Ghost :lol:

Re: 50 Cent's New Show, POWER season premier

let's not talk about the wire in here...

good season, good finale. lots of things to build on for next season..

especially ghost going full throttle back and tommy probably being coked out after his girl got shot up.

50 out

the son is a bitch ass individual

tasha is listening to her momma

angie is ready to leave it all and now it's not gonna happen...

and tommy in the suit is by far the highlight of the season.. easily by a country mile.

his ass been a criminal so long he forgot he was white...

all he had to do was hit the corner and walk.. the police wouldn't have looked his way.

Re: 50 Cent's New Show, POWER season premier

Very realistic decision for Ghost to return to being a full time drug dealer, club closed down, couldnt make a deal with Stern,Tommy and Tasha always in his ear
He just has to figure out a way to wash all that money now.
Why did i start laughing when Ghost told Tasha when he gets back from Miami they had to talk and she started tearing up?

nobody gets mad we all know its not the wire or breaking bad. i dont even know why people are expecting another the wire type show. its going to be a long time before that happens again.

my thing is like amajorfuccup is saying some shit is overly critical. if thats how you feel why continue watching? we at the damn season finale . if i felt like that after ep 2 im done. now instead of talking about the show or whats going to happen in S2 niggas are talking about the son being too old:lol:

Re: 50 Cent's New Show, POWER season premier

The ending of episode 7 would have made a better season finale.

STARZ ORIGINAL SERIES “POWER” RISES IN FINALE

DRAMA SERIES EXECUTIVE PRODUCED BY CURTIS “50 CENT” JACKSON AND COURTNEY KEMP AGBOH AVERAGED 4 MILLION VIEWERS PER EPISODE

Begins Second Run on ENCORE BLACK Aug. 12

Highest Concentration of African American Viewers on Premium Cable

Beverly Hills, Calif., August 6, 2014 – STARZ Original Series and summer breakout hit “Power,” finished strong in its season finale and has averaged about 4 million viewers per week to-date, with strong viewership among White and African-American viewers – both male and female audiences (18-49).* The New York-based drama, which has resonated strongly with African-American viewers throughout its eight-episode first season and stars Omari Hardwick, will premiere to more than 10 million new households on ENCORE BLACK beginning Tuesday, August 12 at 10 pm ET/PT with a replay immediately following at 11 pm ET/PT.** “Power” will premiere one episode per week on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET/PT for eight weeks on ENCORE BLACK through September 30. Additional replays will air on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. “Power” episodes will also be made available weekly on ENCORE PLAY.

Viewership for “Power” grew throughout the strong first season. The finale’s 9PM results (2.9 HH rating and nearly 1.1 million viewers Live+SD) more than doubled the series premiere results (1.3 HH, 462K Live+SD), as the series became “appointment viewing” for its ever-increasing core audience.***

“Power’s” final weekend was also the best to-date. Nearly 2.5 million viewers watched the “Power” season finale over the weekend on STARZ (up more than 20% from the premiere weekend). In fact, “Power’s” final weekend outpaced all recent STARZ finale weekends since “Spartacus: War of The Damned.” ***

The freshman season of “Power” generated the largest concentration (71%) of African-American viewers of any scripted premium series since 2006.**** Furthermore, only HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” and “True Blood” drew larger numbers of African-American viewers of any premium series currently running compared to “Power” on STARZ.*****

With new episode weekend viewership growing throughout the season, “Power” is averaging about 4 million viewers per episode across all platforms including STARZ linear, STARZ ON DEMAND and STARZ PLAY.

About “Power”:

“Power” tells the story of a visionary crime drama set in two different worlds, the glamorous New York club scene and the brutal drug trade.

James “Ghost” St. Patrick has it all: a beautiful wife, a gorgeous Manhattan penthouse, and the hottest, up-and-coming new nightclub in New York. His club, Truth, caters to the elite: the famous and Infamous boldface names that run the city that never sleeps. As its success grows, so do Ghost’s plans to build an empire. However, Truth hides an ugly reality. It’s a front for Ghost’s criminal underworld; a lucrative drug network, serving only the wealthy and powerful.

As Ghost is seduced by the prospect of a legitimate life, everything precious to him becomes unknowingly threatened. Once you’re in, can you ever get out?

The “Power” cast is led by Omari Hardwick (Sparkle, For Colored Girls, Kick a$s, “Being Mary Jane”), Lela Loren (Snitch, “Gang Related”), Naturi Naughton (Fame, “The Client List,” “Mad Men”), and Joseph Sikora (Jack Reacher, Safe, “Boardwalk Empire”). Hardwick stars as main character ‘James “Ghost” St. Patrick’; Loren plays ‘Angela Valdes’, an old flame of James’s who unexpectedly reenters his life; Naughton will play ‘Tasha St. Patrick’, wife, confidant and willing accomplice to James and Sikora plays ‘Tommy Egan’, childhood best friend and business partner to “Ghost.”

“Power” was created by Courtney Kemp Agboh (Emmy® nominated for "The Good Wife"), who serves as executive producer and showrunner. Mark Canton (300, Immortals, 300: Rise of an Empire), Randall Emmett (End of Watch, 2 Guns, Lone Survivor) and David Knoller (“Big Love," "Carnivàle”) also serve as executive producers. The series is produced in a$sociation with CBS Television Studios.

“Power” premiered on STARZ with an eight hour-long episode first season and has been renewed for a second season.

Re: 50 Cent's New Show, POWER season premier

Season ended great...
But 2015 though? :smh:
Niggas even complaining about them not starting the next season until the next calendar year. Something that's been done in television since the beginning of television.:smh:

Re: 50 Cent's New Show, POWER season premier

 Wow.... I guess you 2 nailed it.

They made it so it had to be someone with inside information on the crew. It wasn't Tasha's mom - she didn't know anything. They didn't mention any other people that they used to run with but fell off, so that just left 50.

Yup!

That's just the way it is for cable shows as opposed to network shows, cable doesn't follow the "normal" TV season, so the episode runs tend to be shorter, and they can come back @ any time.

Hell, I watch "Cougar Town" on TBS, it came on from January to April, when it finished they proudly announced that the series would return in JANUARY, a full 8 MONTHS LATER!

And they did the SAME the previous season as well!

I've become a big fan of the show, even with some holes like why pink shoes would shoot in a crowded club but I guess she was pressed for time because to get paid ghost needed to be killed before Kannan got out of jail. BTW, that chick looked fine as hell in that strip club when she stabbed Ruiz... Just saying lol. The fact that it's ultimately pussy that's causing this everything to crumble, besides Kannan's backstabbing, is very real. Pussy has defeated some of the most powerful men in the world and always will. If you fuck around and get a chick that knows how to use it to manipulate men it's a wrap.

Tommy completely fucking up with that red head, you can easily see its a reason that he's just the enforcer and not the true leader. He thinks too short term, him and Tasha. Ghost is thinking long term retirement and success. Tommy and Tasha essentially never grew up, they're stuck in that old streets mentality. Ghost was ready for graduation to the next level which is legit money and was dumping everybody who was dragging him down to the curb.

Damn it was so fucked up that scene with Ghost killing his protégé Rollo. A kid he raised on the streets. Amazing scene... That moment is gonna haunt him forever. Amped for Season 2.

Sent from Andromeda, light years away...

I was thinking the same thing, especially with how that chick knew his schedule, and how Lobos' people were able to snatch him @ the same time she wanted to, but as somebody else in this thread pointed out the writers used this to force Ghost back into the drug game, if the shooting doesn't happen inside his club, he's still going to Miami with Angela (that is, if Tommy doesn't try taking her out first, with him lurking outside her building, lol!).

Re: 50 Cent's New Show, POWER season premier

I saw a blurb were they cancelled the show because 50 backed out to go on tour...

I was like no Lord, take Outlander instead...

But it turned out to be Bullshit
