Aight brothers(and sisters)... This is BGOL and love the Soul and Rock joints on here... this thread is on point. I believe I went through the whole thread (since it's only 4-pages right now) so these shouldn't be repeats.Yet I think we are missing a genre.....
- So for my 1st selection. I remember when this first came out I was like what can you do that before this I myself never seen this in hip hop because coming up on the original culture there was always a problem with "bitting". Yet I felt Snoop caught this and brought this other part of music artistry to Hip Hop. He did a cover on his actual album. He did Slick Rick's La Di Da Di. His version being Lodi Dodi.
- For my 2nd selection we going to go with one of the oldest hip hop classics and this was also do-able due to Snoop breaking this mold(somebody else could have done it before snoop but I don't remember). Def Squad pulled this off. Good job... I enjoyed the ride.
- My 3rd selection is from a song that use to play at the Block Parties when I was a kid all the time. This played in Hip Hop parties. it's mostly all instrumental so it's only right the Roots did the cover. I didn't find out dude was German (or white until way later in life).I was actually souped when I heard this it was on the last track of the tipping point but like at the end. It was mad long but I was vibing when I first heard it...and it went on and on...
Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh - La Di Da Di
Snoop Dogg - Lodi Dodi
The Sugarhill Gang - Rapper's Delight
DEF SQUAD - RAPPERS DELIGHT
George Kranz - Din Daa Daa
The Roots - Din Da Da
