She was sitting there, head in hand, upset. I've seen those situations in high school before and all times it did not escalate to that level. Usually it ended one of two ways. The student sitting in the desk would be moved, meaning that the teacher and officer would lift the desk with the student still in it and move it out into the hallway so that someone else (principal, counselor, another teacher) could talk to the child or a teacher/counselor that the student liked or respected would be called in to calmly and sensibly talk to the student and get them out of the class.

Nowhere in my statement did i justify the actions of the child. That's kinda like a straw man argument you're trying to use and it won't work. Stay focused on what you see and stop the assumptions.

To be honest, I have heard a lot of anger towards the situation that unfolded, but there has been little to no comments about how to handle it. I think Beatdown gave a great breakdown on how a police or resource office should have handled the situation.

Finding a way to handle these things are so important, but you also have to remember that as much as we would like, a lot of teachers are just not equipped mentally to handle such situations.
