Playstation 4 to be unveiled tomorrow 2-20-13!

Word?... Backwards Compatibility doesn't matter?...

So assuming you have a Blu-Ray player.. What if they weren't B.C.? You'd be content with whipping out your old DVD Player everytime you wanted to watch a DVD?..
he didn't say it didn't matter, he said he didn't give a fuck about it.

the logic is this.

I spend $60 for a game.
play it for a week or two.
sell it on amazon for $45.

with the model they want, I'll be stuck with a $60 game I will never play again.

suppose you bought a new car and were not allowed to sell or trade it in?
how often would you buy a new car then?

these jackasses are shooting themselves in the foot making shitty games and expecting me to pay full price and keep it forever.
that's going to cut back on the amount of original sales.
especially, since most games are just clones of each other.

You and others seems pissed that game makers... want to make money off their product where's the logic in that ?

maybe that streaming playstation 3 games through their Gaikai service on the playstation 4 is Sony's way of working around the whole backwards compatibility thing :dunno:

This shit right here ....nerds complain about everything....you want to play old games...pull out your old system.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

this...once the new shit comes out I never play the old shit..and if it was that serious id just keep my ps3 hooked up to another tv......shits going in my sons room anyway once the 4 comes out

cant wait till 6pm:dance:

No way will the ps4 come out this year for around 400
When sony is still trying to sell ps3 for 300.

leaked? I dont know if this is real or not, still a nice idea

Who cares.. It will flop just like the Wii-U..

No more used games, and no Backwards Compatibility?.. FOH...

I use my ps3 to play movies. If not for my boy bring in Madden over this weekend I would not need a game im almost a year. definitely not copping the PS 4

The thing is, there isn't going to be a huge leap this generation.. I have a feeling we're going to be playing Xbox360/PS3 games well into to Next Gen..

Sony almost blew it the way they handled the PS3 at launch. I have no faith in them to do this right. Greedy money hungry bastards.

Yea.. I remember that "We could launch PS3 with no games, and it would still sell out.." statement they made... I guarantee they wont dig themselves out of that whole if they pull that shit this time around. :smh:

I'm not opposed to Game Publishers making money.. I'm opposed to them being greedy bastards, which they have been the last few years..

So someone buying the game one time... sells it or trades it.... someone else rinses and repeats... all those times it's been happening the game publisher only seen money off of the sale one time!

So multiple people got to experience the game... and they're greedy ?

Why not test drive the game ? at gamefly... it will minimize the risk of having a terrible game. My argument is this they spend millions to make a game.... so for someone to buy it and then sell it ok... it was there's ,but should the next owner who never gave a cent to the company be able to use online capability like you the new game buyer ?

10 bucks for an online pass is fair... it helps for the lack of money the company never got when that used buyer didn't buy... it is a business after all

Looking forward to this. some speculation is Sony learned from their previous mistakes with PS3. They will be mindful of the price and will have more games when the PS4 is released by making sure game creators have an idea of how to work and use the system so more games can e created for the release date. We'll see

Would like to see some franchises available at release. Ratchet and Clank, Gran Turismo, Killzone and Little Big Planet.

people and the media kill me with the " sony is finished" and that kind of rhetoric, almost blaming sony for any decline in console gaming. whatever happens to console gaming, its NOT sony's fault. its not sony's fault that cellphones and ipods and tablets have taken over the casual gaming market. in fact, the WORST move sony could make is panic and cater to that market. no, instead what i would do is make a console that eats into the PC MARKET... i wouldnt care if it cost $800 bucks to make a console that would last 5 or more years. i would go out my way to make it a device catering to the pc market, because trust, there are plenty of console people like me who want pc graphics and memory, etc. in a console, without having pc knowledge and having to piece shit together. that was the original intent of consoles anyway, but they let pc's leave them in the dust ( who wouldnt wanna play battlefield3 on a console with the same experience as the pc version?)

again, stop blaming sony. to me, there are FOUR consoles in history that changed the game: the atari 2600, nintendo ( original), sega genesis, and the playstation 2............. playstation 4 SHOULD be that next console...................

You mean the same companies Who sell us games for $60 just because. The same companies who pushed for more advertising dollars in games yet never dropped the price of games. You mean the same companies who sell us DLC That's on the disc Already. Both sides aren't saints but every game isn't worth $60. But if anyone is to blame for constant sequels, tacked on multiplayer and bullshit DLC, it's us the consumers as Well as lazy developers. Do Madden games or COD really need to be full price every year? No but people buy it so they make it. But GameStop is raping people blind lately with the amounts they give for games just to make it $5 cheaper. I generally buy the rented copies from Gamefly. Rent em, check condition, buy for cheap with coupons u earn and u get the brand new case.

IGN Live coverage of Playstation 4 begins at 5pm...1 hour before the official showing - http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/02/14/watch-the-220-playstation-event-on-ign

I don't want to quote a whole bunch of replies here so let me chime in on some general things I've read. Console gaming has to NOT alienate its consumer base with stupid money-grubbing tactics like overly high priced hardware, over-priced games, lack of backwards compatibility, and so on. As services on PC like STEAM, Origin, and UPlay become more prominent I becomes ever more clear that the prices of games on consoles are inflated for no fucking reason. Bad enough that the same game on PC you can buy for console costs $10 less on PC. Console games and PC games lately are generally being released in unfinished states and require patching. The patch process for consoles is more costly and time consuming for the developers (not sad about their losses...make better games!). Console developers are stuck in a loop of infinite sequels and are afraid to give gamers something new or original. I blame this mostly on GAMERS rather than developers. They are going to make what they think people will buy. As much as we complain about CoD being the same engine and Madden being a roster update every year we still go out and buy that shit religiously. Indie game developers can't afford the costs of console development so they stick with PC. Steam alone has hundreds of indie games that are fun, original, and easily put some of the most expensively developed games to shame...PC or console. But until we do something to let these developers know we're tired of the fuckery and lack of trying to improve, we will continue to lose. And I still say this to this day, fucking video games should not have ever costed more than $40! I don't care what game it is...unless it comes with a special controller.

Why the fuck is there another God of War coming out after 3? Why is there a Gears of War prequel coming out after the trilogy ended? Modern Warfare 4? Really? And because of those big names most gamers won't even give anything else an objective chance to entertain them. Studio doesn't sell shit, closes down, and the rest of the developers just play it safe and develop games the clone what the masses like. This isn't a rant against consoles, just a rant to open your eyes and say time to let motherfuckas know you ain't buying their shit unless they can guarantee quality content for gamers! PC could easily go the same route as consoles but once again the only thing stopping that is how easy and cheap it is for an indie developer or some guy living in his mom's basement to create the next big game like Minecraft or Angry Birds or Day Z. One of my favorite indie game developers right now wants to port their hit PC game to consoles. But they are afraid to do it and have cancelled their plans because it costs a lot of money to develop on consoles and they know that selling there game against CoD, Halo, or any other major console game could fail miserably and bankrupt them. Peace.

Gamestop needs to STFU. They make LOTS OF MONEY off of giving people %70 or more less than the value of a game on trade-ins towards another game. Cash towards a game trade-in, they take away another 10%. Gamestop, if anyone, is shitting their pants over the possibility of used games being locked out of the next-gen consoles. Trust me, that would put them OUT of business. They run their business like a pawn shop. Fuck you for your game and the resell it at a marked up price. Fuck them! Trade your games in at Best Buy from now on! They give you way more trade credit and you can use it to buy anything in their whole store.

Enjoy the PS4 unveiling.

Yes... They're greedy as fuck.. They've already sold me a 20¢ disc for $60. What I do with it after that is my prerogative.

That's a 30,000% mark up.. :smh:

And they're worried about me selling the shit on Ebay for $10, 2 months later? Get the fuck outta here with that BS, homes.. :smh::smh::smh:

You know the software costs more than that disc. Hell the paper inside costs more than the disc most times. Don't forget about the costs of marketing it to you.
