They still are. My homeboy bought an Alienware laptop last year and when I asked him about Crysis 3 he said he didn't even know if it would run the game. I was like . How the fuck you buy a $2000 laptop and not even know if the specs are going to be worthwhile for the next few years. Now I'm sure it can run the game, but he should fucking know better than me about his own $2000 shit. Meanwhile...I'm playing it on something 1/4 what he paid for. Shit is sad.

You do know how much more the console will cost just by having hardware support backwards compatibility, right? So why aren't people in here understanding why Sony won't put it in via hardware. The best you're going to get from them is emulation...if any. Take it or leave it! Or get a PC instead.

I'm cool with not having backwards compatibility. Back when they took it out of the PS3, all the tech junkies told us not to expect it at all in the next Playstation, so I don't know why everybody is acting like they got cheated out of something.

I think the problem started when Sony put b/c in the old PS3 in the first place. It was a great feature and a great selling point, but somehow people started to look at new consoles as if they were upgrades rather than new products. Now it's like every time a new system is announced it's the same bull: I'm not buying that shit cause blah, blah, blah. Fast forward 1 year and the same people are on the same system they were hating on, bitchin over the headset about campers on Call of Duty.

And for the record, Rocky is right:you CAN build a damn good gaming pc for $500. And it will run Crysis 3.
The trick is knowing where to buy quality components at a fair price. Try Newegg, Tiger Direct, and Microcenter.

Integrated Haswell chips released this year will be capable of playing games at 1080p and medium(not Crysis 3, but other shit). In a few years, cats will be posting laptops in the deals section of BGOL for $300 that will be full 1080p gaming solutions.

Haswell will be out this year. This year you will be able to buy fucking laptops that can play games with integrated chips that are comparable to a 650m. This fucking year!!! You'll be able to run games like Hitman Absolution 1080p, medium over 30 fps WITHOUT a dedicated GPU.

PC gamers have moved onto 2560 x 1600 displays and/or 3 displays, that's the only reason to spend over $1000. Consoles are just now working on true 1080p with next gen. That's what you will be getting for your $500(when you buy all the accessories).

Since console gamers are used to the equivalent of medium/low pc graphics and 30fps, the $500 build will suit them just fine. There are plenty of users with the same card Rocky has reporting around 50 fps at the detail the next gen consoles will probably be running the game.

This is the pc world. Parts aren't "outdated" because new parts come out. Parts become outdated when they can't handle the job anymore. Those parts are more than adequate for this purpose. You could still do it for even less. Comparable mobo, gpu and cpu really go for about $60 each. The hard drive is under $50 as well, but I always use 2. The antec case is ok but I've gotten better looking ones for $25 flat, and you can still stand on them without crushing it. Add in the power supply $50 and dvd drive $20 he forgot and you come in at less than $460.

There's always been this big myth about building pc's being difficult. Bullshit. Truth is, Ikea furniture is harder to put together. You don't need to take a class or need to have some geek do it for you.

The first computer I built myself cost me over $2000 because I let magazines like MaximumPC and PCWorld con me into thinking that quality parts had to be expensive and that I should include parts and tech that I was never going to use. Then I spent another $250 on overpriced pc gamepads and flight sticks. The only parts that were worth what I spent on them were that top-of-the-line soundcard and the server style case. Everything else could have been matched or surpassed in performance by a far less expensive part. I threw away a lot of money because nobody was around to put me up on game.

The PC version of X-Com: Enemy Unknown has a few more bells and whistles and options that aren't on console versions. Then there are tons of indie games that cover all kinds of genres and some new genres. There's retro-like games like Hotline: Miami that mix old school with new (I posted that shit on BGOL for those who pay attention). Those are just a few examples. And fuck no I ain't posting anymore screenshots for shit you guys can just Google and find for yourselves. You're sitting here playing dumb on shit that you know better about AKA Trolling.

Motherfuckas ain't trying to hear this shit, man. It's like they want to give away all that extra money. Even when I wasn't good at PC stuff I never let someone else build my shit. I had a trusted friend make me a parts list and I ordered the parts and built the shit myself. Yeah, for a first-timer that shit took me all day to do but I LEARNED and from that point on that shit became my passion. Now I can build a PC blindfolded and for a very low price in comparison to computer stores according to what someone wants it to do.

And truth told, if for some reason Crysis 3 or any other game I got on PC didn't run good, I would've just got it on XBOX 360 instead. Thing is, most of the time I can get PC games free or very cheap.

That processor incompatibility you think is just some made up excuse is one of the developers biggest complaints about the old system. They don't want to write code for that PS3 shit anymore. It's a pain in the ass. One of the main reasons Xbox has been able to compete with PS3 is because its so much faster and easier to write code for.
With Sony switching to an x86 processor, it would actually be easier to get an Xbox game to play on PS4 than it would to be to run a PS3 game.

thats a great misconception... only reason people feel that way is because consoles are slightly more ui friendly as far as having ur friends list and other bullshyt on ur dashboard right there that makes you "feel" connected...

consoles are like fastfood, quick and easy... you put in the game and ur playing, thats really their only advantage... cuz the same weirdos on pc are on a console as well...

I got about 20 people on my PSN list who I know personally either family or friend. Of those 20, 0 play PC games. If I bought a gaming PC tomorrow, I won't be able to play games with them in person, or online. Consoles allow everyone to play games together. Without having to knowledgeable about computer components and servers etc. PC gaming might be superior to console gaming as far as graphics, servers, software etc, but console gaming is way more social.
