Anybody have problems not being able to install patches after the update ? none of the patches seem to want to install. I crashed the phone earlier and had to use webos doctor to restore it....fucking around and had Itunes and Songbird running at the same time. i guess both programs were trying to get @ the phone and fucked it up. I used WEBOS doctor to recover the phone and had to reinstall the latest update over again. Now the patches won't install, even in dev mode. Phnoe runs better though. Lost some booty pic and music but I wanted to take all that shit off anyway.
I had that isssue. It looks like the update was trying to move your regular apps & stalled. I did a partial reset on mine to resolve that issue. Make sure you back up your data before doing the partial reset. You'll have to re-install your homebrew apps but the regular apps will come down with your palm profile. My homebrew apps work but my "regular" apps come up with an exclamation point and a message pops up saying the download failed. Check over here and see if they have a solution to your problem: http://forums.precentral.net/webos-internals/199090-preware-228.html
get a Droid that way u can stay outta this thread

Damn wish I remebered that. Lost some pussy pics I forgot about as a resultNah, all that wasn't necessary for me. I just had to install that Emergency Migration Helper tool in Preware and that did the trick.
That's not including homebrew apps though. It took all this time for 1,000?

If you were a gambling man (or lady), and you were to bet against Palm preparing to announce native game development options for their Linux-based webOS, then your correspondent reckons you would soon be a very broke gambling man (or lady). The discovery of SDL's inclusion in webOS 1.3.5 really should have been enough evidence for you that something big was brewing, but destinal and Rod Whitby's (of WebOS Internals) latest discovery is proof positive: webOS 1.3.5 also includes a method for launching native Linux applications without any of the Upstart hackery we reported on yesterday.
How's it done? Rather simply, actually. All a developer needs to do is install the application's files and include a webOS-standard appinfo.json file, which tells webOS everything about a particular app. By setting the type to "game" and pointing to a binary executable (rather than the usual index.html a typical webOS app is based around) webOS 1.3.5 will happily throw your new native, SDL-based Linux program into a card, ready to do your bidding.
So there you have it. Fully-integrated native apps on webOS are a go - and within seven months of launch, we might add. (For the record, the iPhone took a year to get there and Android nearly two.) Need For Speed on the Pre doesn't seem quite so far-fetched anymore, now does it?
That Just ChangedNo video......arrrrrgggggg
Now if they only put out a new device w/ a candy bar form factor ala Droid or Samsung moment with these new updates then I'm sure we'd all leave the Pre in favor of that new device likevideoooooooooo
flaaaaaaaaaaash
games!!!!
cant wait for the updates to reach my phone
* Pre coming to SFR in France
* PreCentral webOS App Gallery brings the App Catalog to your browser
* Palm reveals open web distribution of webOS apps
* Video recording coming to webOS
* Flash 10.1 coming soon to a Palm near you
* Palm makes the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus official, Verizon only, and with tethering

* Palm CES 2010 Presentation Gallery
* Hands-On with the Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus!
I switched from the Pre to TMobile and I got the Nexus One. I dont regret the move but I must admit that Palm is really working hard and providing fire for its customers. Really impressive for such a short period of time with Web OS
how does android feel compared to webos?
