It's big, black man, in a wig, with lip gloss on, he runs the place. His dialogue is fast paced and hilarious at times but that visual is not going to work for everybody.
And honestly judging from the first episodes and his interactions with a local rapper who happens to be DL, you'll probably have some man on man scenes thru out.

The reason I'm pointing out the difference, is not to defend the LGBT but to explain that unlike the character from Queen and Slim which as presented as a "female". This character is a gay man dressing like a bitch, so far I haven't seen or been notified of any transgendered characters playing cis-gendered roles.

I was looking forward to this show for nearly a year since one of the actresses from Power was added to the cast, Shannon Thornton. Conceptually, it seemed like a winner --- black strippers, in the South, on Starz, a perfect recipe for ass & titties. Plus, I've had my eye on the lead actress, Elarica Johnson for a bit too, she's a british actor who made her way here. I ain't know shit about all the gay shit though. I give the premier a solid 6/10. For a Mississippi strip club, I expected a LOT more nudity than what we got but there's still time. It sucks because if not for Corona, I think this would be airing alongside the Power spinoff.
