90 Day Fiancé star Geoffrey Paschel was sentenced to 18 years in prison on February 3, 2022, after he was found guilty on aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault and interference with emergency calls charges.

On June 9, 2019, his ex-fiancée, Kristen Wilson, told authorities that Paschel assaulted her at his Rocky Hill, Tennessee, home.

According to a statement from the Knox County District Attorney’s Office, “The victim told officers that she had been assaulted in her home by Paschel. Paschel grabbed the victim by the neck and slammed her head against the wall several times. She was also thrown to the ground and dragged.”

The D.A.’s office went on to claim that “Paschel took the victim’s cell phone” and refused to let her leave the residence. Wilson wasn’t able to escape until Paschel fell asleep and she fled to a neighbor’s house.

According to the responding officers, Wilson had “a large, raised bruise” on her forehead, as well as “bruises and abrasions on her back, arms, and the inside of her lip” following the incident. The officers also noted that she was diagnosed with a concussion.

During his trial in October 2021, Paschel testified that Wilson’s bruises were self-inflicted. However, the jury did not believe his claims and the former TLC personality was convicted on all charges and jailed after a two-day trial. Paschel was later sentenced to 18 years behind bars on February 3, 2022. He later filed for an official appeal on July 6, 2022.

90 Day Fiancé fans were introduced to Paschel when he appeared on season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, which premiered in February 2020. He appeared on the show with Varya Malina, whom he became engaged to at the end of the season.

Despite their rocky romance, Malina stood by Paschel’s side during the trial and is seemingly still with him as he serves time in prison.

Paschel and Malina’s season aired after the incident took place, which led many fans to ask the network to remove him from the show. However, Paschel defended his decision to appear on the reality show via Instagram in March 2020.

“I have been repeatedly asked why I would EVER want to be on a show (the best show FYI) where my life would be put in front of everyone to pick apart — especially with my checkered past,” he wrote at the time. “Well, guys, it is MY past. It is MY life. It is MY choice.”

The former reality star added, “With the path I chose, it cannot EVER be reversed. Everything about me is out there for the world to see, whether it is true or fantasy. I can never go back, and honestly, I would not have it any different.”

Armed man arrested at RFK Jr. campaign event in Los Angeles

The campaign said the suspect claimed he was part of Kennedy's security detail.

RFK Jr. refuses to rule out third party run at campaign event
Democratic candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he was keeping all options open regarding an independent campaign.

An armed man accused of impersonating a U.S. Marshal was taken into custody at a Robert Kennedy Jr. campaign event in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A spokesperson from the LAPD said in a statement to ABC News that a radio call was generated around 4:30 p.m. local time reporting a man with "a loaded gun in a shoulder holster and a badge stating he was a U.S. Marshal." LAPD officers arrived shortly after and arrested the man. The FBI was also present at the scene.

The LAPD said the man never brandished the gun or threatened anyone.

Adrian Paul Aispuro, 44, was identified Saturday as the suspect, according to booking details reviewed by ABC News. Aispuro is currently being held in Los Angeles on $35,000 bail for a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon.

According to a statement issued Saturday afternoon from Kennedy's campaign, a private security team interacted with Aispuro ahead of Friday evening's speech after Aispuro insisted that he was a part of the candidate's security detail and asked to be taken to Kennedy "immediately."

"The security imposter, who was wearing sunglasses, appeared to have laid his plans in advance, as he was carrying what appeared to be a U.S. Marshal badge on a lanyard and beltclip federal ID," the campaign said. "The Kennedy campaign is seeking additional information from law enforcement authorities."

The campaign also claimed that the LAPD "took custody" of a second man they allege came to the event with Aispuro, but the LAPD said Saturday they have no information on a second armed suspect.

The police department remains the lead agency on the case, the station's Watch Commander said earlier.

In July, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and a bipartisan committee rejected a request from Kennedy for Secret Service protection following an unusually early request from Kennedy's campaign. Kennedy said at the time that his request "included a 67-page report...detailing unique and well-established security and safety risks aside from commonplace death threats."

Kennedy, whose father and uncle were both assassinated, raised the issue of a Secret Service detail again in his statement on Friday night, claiming he was the "first presidential candidate in history" to be denied protection upon request.

"I'm still entertaining a hope that President Biden will allow me Secret Service protection," Kennedy said.

"Major presidential candidates" do receive Secret Service protection during the primaries but there are a number of requirements that candidates must meet, according to the Congressional Research Service.

Once such requirements are met, the secretary of Homeland Security consults with an advisory committee and one additional member selected by the other members of the committee -- usually from the Secret Service -- and determines if a candidate is eligible for Secret Service protection.

Notably, this is the first time Kennedy has explicitly acknowledged that Gavin de Becker and Associates, whose namesake donated $4.5 million to a pro-Kennedy Super PAC, is providing his security detail.

Asked in July by ABC News if he employed private security following the rejection of his request, Kennedy was cagey about the details despite the presence of men wearing pins with the insignia of Gavin de Becker and Associates.

"I'm not going to tell you my security arrangements for obvious reasons," Kennedy said.

Urbandale church distancing itself from US missionary accused of attacking woman in Liberia

URBANDALE, Iowa —
An American missionary connected to an Urbandale church is accused of attacking a woman in Liberia.
Last week, Creekside Church posted a message on its Facebook page asking for prayers for missionary Lucas Richard, saying he was attacked and robbed. That post has since been deleted.

The church said Richard, who is from Louisiana, has been affiliated with Creekside for years and is currently working in Liberia.
However, Liberian media outlets and social media posts allege that Richard attacked a woman named Jessica Lloyd, cutting her throat. The media outlets report that Richard is charged with attempted murder.
Late Monday afternoon, Creekside Church pastor Steve Smith shared an update. The church acknowledged its original post came off to the Liberian community as insensitive to the victim.
The church said Richard no longer represents Creekside or receives their support. Church officials said they are working with the U.S. Department of State to address the allegations.
The State Department told KCCI they are aware of reports of the arrest of an American citizen in Liberia but declined to comment further.

Some local Liberians are planning to hold a gathering outside Creekside Church Sunday morning to continue to keep the story alive.
You can read Creekside's full statement below:
On September 14th, Creekside Church was made aware of a situation involving one of the missionaries we support, Lucas Richard, in Liberia. The information we received from his wife, who was serving with him in Liberia, was that Lucas was attacked and robbed, so we posted a prayer request for our congregation. News later broke that Lucas had been incarcerated and accused of the attempted murder and aggravated assault of a Liberian girl, Jessica Lloyd. He maintains his innocence.
Lucas is not a member of Creekside, but of a church in Liberia which he founded consisting of its own board of elders and accountability structure. Our social media post calling for prayer made it seem to the Liberian community that we are insensitive to the victim and appearing to defend the accused, and by extension dismiss his charges. This was not the case. Prayer is our first priority when confronted with a situation such as this. The church is sensitive to Jessica, who also accuses Lucas Richard of perpetrating the act. For her sake and in light of our relationship with the Richards, it is always our obligation to seek the truth, a task made more difficult considering that the eyewitness accounts are radically different.
We trust the legal system in Liberia to find the truth and render justice regarding the allegations. Sadly, we have confirmed today through an eyewitness from Liberia that Lucas had in fact entered into a marriage with Jessica, which neither we nor Lois had any prior knowledge of. While there are many points of allegations we cannot confirm, since the extramarital relationship has been verified, this alone makes Lucas ineligible to represent our church or receive our support. We are continuing to work with the State Department, contacts in Liberia, and others to seek both truth and justice. Please continue to join us in prayer for all involved.

A Kansas youth pastor is accused of trying to kill his wife and five children in their Shawnee home before allegedly attempting to set the home on fire, according to police.
Matthew Richards, 41, is charged with five counts of attempted premeditated first-degree murder and one count of aggravated arson with risk of bodily harm in connection with the Sept. 16 incident.
His five children, including a 19-year-old and four juveniles, and his wife all sustained “laceration injuries of varying degrees,” according to a press release from the Shawnee Police Department.
Shawnee police and firefighters responded to reports of a disturbance and fire at the pastor’s home at 3:47 a.m. on Sept. 16.
Firefighters located a blaze in the basement of the house on Goode Drive in Shawnee and “quickly extinguished” it.
Authorities transported all five victims and Richards to the hospital for treatment.

Richards’ biography on the Crossroads Christian Church website states that he is a “a big kids [sic] who loves teaching little kids about Jesus.”
“He has been married to Stephanie since 2003 and they have 4 boys and 1 girl. He and his family have three rules: 1. Love God, 2. Love People, 3. Love Sports (especially the Jayhawks and Sporting KC),” the biography states. “Matt and his family have been at Crossroads since August 2016 and look forward to many more years helping teach and reach those in the Shawnee area.”
Crossroads Church Senior Pastor Kurt Witten issued a statement in response to the incident on Sept. 16, saying the church was “aware of the situation involving” its “Children’s Pastor, Matt Richards.”
