Read the comments on the tweet. Apparently they have a 25% poverty rate and in need of federal assistance due to recent issues with fires and a local dam.

Stalker was angry with exotic dancer before killing her on Fort Worth highway: warrant BY DOMINGO RAMIREZ JR. UPDATED NOVEMBER 01, 2021

Fort Worth homicide victim found tracker on her car before she was shot to death The family of a Dallas-area woman who was killed in Fort Worth says a stalker put a tracker on her car in the weeks before he shot her.

An Irving man accused of gunning down a woman while she was driving on a Fort Worth highway was a customer at a strip club where she worked and was angry after claiming to have paid her thousands of dollars, according to a warrant. Stanley Szeliga, 54, also wrote on social media that he was going to report the victim on allegations of prostitution, according to the arrest warrant affidavit, which Fort Worth police released Monday. Szeliga was arrested last week and faces a murder charge in the killing of 22-year-old Abigail Saldana of Dallas. Szeliga remained in the Tarrant County Jail on Monday with bond set at $250,000. Saldana was shot and killed Tuesday night as she drove down a Fort Worth highway, less than two weeks after she had found a tracking device on her car, according to a video she posted on Instagram. The shooting happened near Rick’s Cabaret. A manager at the strip club told police Saldana worked there but did not work on the night of the shooting, according to the warrant. The warrant says Szeliga was accused of using the tracking device to follow Saldana. Saldana’s hometown had been listed as Wichita Falls on the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website, but she moved to Dallas about two years ago with her 5-year-old son, her mother said Thursday in a telephone interview with the Star-Telegram. Saldana had told friends she was frightened of Szeliga, according to the warrant. “I don’t know where she was going that night,” Contreras said last week. “We got a text about 6:30 p.m. that night, and the shooting happened about two hours later.”

Dickerson provided these additional details: On Tuesday night, a caller reported seeing a car speeding before driving off an exit ramp and into a grassy area. The caller stopped, approached the car and noticed bullet holes on the passenger side. Saldana was found dead inside the car near Texas 183 and Amon Carter Boulevard. Fort Worth police found three shell casings near the shooting scene. When they began to search the car, Fort Worth detectives noticed items of clothing consistent with those worn by exotic dancers. The car was near Rick’s Cabaret and detectives went to the business to see if Saldana worked there. A manager verified that Saldana worked there and said she had been recently harassed by a customer who the manager knew only as Stan, according to the warrant. The manager showed a Fort Worth detective the video that Saldana had posted about finding the tracker on her car.

Szeliga, who investigators identified as Saldana’s stalker, had posted on Instagram just three hours before the fatal shooting that he had paid Saldana $3,000 and wrote about his allegations that she was a prostitute. In one previous Instagram post before the shooting, Szeliga wrote this, “I never thought I’d be one of those guys taken advantage of. Sharing for awareness. Abigail S. and I, since July 2021, we have been enjoying each other’s company. She’s so beautiful and personable that I envisioned a future with her. But dealing with all the lies is overwhelming, I realize that’s part of your primary job as an adult entertainer.” But Szeliga wanted Saldana to leave it at the club, he wrote. In the post, he also said, “If you only leave your second job, being in a high-end prostitution ring we could move forward. Yes, this pays $2000 per session, but it’s illegal. And having a boyfriend whilst having sex with other men?!” Szeliga also posted how much he was spending on Saldana, noting he had made Zelle payments to her at times of $800, $200 and $1,000. License plate reader records showed that at times Szeliga followed Saldana in his truck and he was at the same intersection, indicating he may have been stalking Saldana, according to the warrant. On the day after the shooting, detectives called Szeliga and asked him to meet them at their office and he agreed. He later called and told detectives that there had been a death in his family, but said he would still meet with Fort Worth detectives. Szeliga never showed up to the police station. After obtaining a warrant, authorities went to his Irving home, but Szeliga refused to exit. He caused a self-inflicted wound to his neck before he was taken out of his home. Gov. Abbott mocked for claiming South African immigrants crossing border illegally

Source: kxan
by: Russell Falcon Updated: Nov 29, 2021 / 09:50 AM CST

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas Governor Greg Abbott is calling President Joe Biden’s policies at the border — to stop the flow of “illegal” South African migrants coming into the U.S. The statement comes after the U.S. restricted travel from several southern African countries on Saturday due to concerns of the recently emerged omicron COVID-19 variant.

In a tweet Sunday night, Abbott claimed: “Immigrants have recently been apprehended crossing our border illegally from South Africa. Biden is doing nothing to stop immigrants from South Africa entering illegally. Pure politics and hypocrisy.”

The statement was confusing to many, as it’s not clear if Abbott was referring to other U.S. borders or to the Texas-Mexico southern border, which is a frequent talking point of the governor.

Recent stopping of South African migrants at the Texas border hasn’t previously been noted.

It’s unclear whether Abbott was referring to a 2019 incident when Border Patrol in Del Rio, Texas, stopped over 500 African migrants as they crossed the Rio Grande. Those migrants, however, were not from any southern African countries, but from areas like the Republic of the Congo and Angola.
