We didn't watch before because we didn't have or did have lots of representation. Why nigs wasn’t watching b4… but the new era they do smh.. fuck these cac awards
They purposely didn’t put us up there back in the days and when ratings went to shit by the 2000s they put representation of us to get back ratings aka the Halle Berry fuck film and corrupted cop Denzel.. this is facts … so basically you can’t eat at my establishment negro, but when money low and the rent due oh you can come and have a seat and eat.. well if you didn’t want me there in the first place it’s fuck you forever, I’ll eat somewhere else or better yet cookWe didn't watch before because we didn't have or did have lots of representation.
We watched last night because we had representation with the hopes of them winning.
Had Sinners not been there, neither would we.
The percentage of Black people in the United States is less than 15%, it's probably actually around 13%.They purposely didn’t put us up there back in the days and when ratings went to shit by the 2000s they put representation of us to get back ratings aka the Halle Berry fuck film and corrupted cop Denzel.. this is facts … so basically you can’t eat at my establishment negro, but when money low and the rent due oh you can come and have a seat and eat.. well if you didn’t want me there in the first place it’s fuck you forever, I’ll eat somewhere else or better yet cook
Going by your logic there was no good black films worthy of being nominated and winning b4 the yr they won…I’ve been on earth for 45 yrs and can easily say there was some great black movies in the 80s and 90s , yet according to you none of them was good as Halley berry getting fucked by the old geezer.. Angela basset as Tina turner was far less as good than make me feel goodThe percentage of Black people in the United States is less than 15%, it's probably actually around 13%.
And the percentage of Black people in Hollywood is significantly less. I say that to say, I doubt that ratings were a big factor in us getting representation at the Oscar's.
It has more to do with the number of Black and other races having, and given a the ability to make movies.
Believe it or not, it'a not a panel of 10 people who choose the awards so that it benefits the progression of the Oscars.
This year it's over 11 thousand voting members. So when Halle and Denzel won their Oscars, there was mostly likely 9000 members who voted.
If you believe that those 9000 people voted for them for better ratings and to increase money, then you're probably all alone.
Below is how Oscar winners are chosen.

Your perception of what I said unfortunately isn't the reality. I said nothing about the quality of Black movies,Going by your logic there was no good black films worthy of being nominated and winning b4 the yr they won…I’ve been on earth for 45 yrs and can easily say there was some great black movies in the 80s and 90s , yet according to you none of them was good as Halley berry getting fucked by the old geezer.. Let’s use your numbers since I love numbers.. there’s 336 million Americans .. 15 percent is 50 million people… well if just 10-20 percent of those people watch that’s 5-10 million people watching.. well 5-10 million people is definitely great for any show on tv..more sponsors, more reason to continue a show.. so I guess having that 15 percent of the population watching does benefit them.. hey just using numbers.. if you ask any biz they can get 50 million new customers they would go crazy hell 5-10 million more would have them doing backflips.. when 15 percent is broken into real numbers.. it was a known fact Oscar’s ratings were down significantly..they talked about it loud for yrs..they didn’t just say out loud they had a negro plan
You still believe this? How long has that statistic been 13% when every other demographic has changed? The percentage of Black people in the United States is less than 15%, it's probably actually around 13%.

I know you think there was quality black films b4 that but obviously the racist of Hollywood didn’t or didn’t care to acknowledge our films which goes back to my original point of them not wanting us to eat at their establishment .. our debate wouldn’t go anywhere cause you fail to realize that it was an ongoing known fact that the Oscar’s were struggling at ratings for yrs prior to the Denzel/halle Oscar’s.. you would have to acknowledge that fact first, than understand why it was important to expand their audience.. than you downplay our percentage in America like 50 million strong isn’t huge in any area of business.. 50 million is more people than 166 countries population around the world.. our population alone is bigger than 83 percent of other countries population .. so you talking about a huge demographic you would want to tap into especially with a struggling showYour perception of what I said unfortunately isn't the reality. I said nothing about the quality of Black movies,
Your mindset and comprehension to what I wrote let's me know that this conversation won't go far. Because your belief of what I said is twisted into something that is doing nothing but amping you up.
Because "I" said nothing about the lack of quality of Black films, actors, actresses, directors etc. "I" said that 9000 people voted for the awards.
So if anything, "Those" 9000 people that voted said that there weren't any quality Black films and actors.
Not me, but you said that was my logic and you were incorrect.
Your first statement started off wrong so this conversation truly can't continue.
I'm glad that Mike B won and was hoping that Sinners won.
Even if it was true that’s 50 million strong.. that’s huge in ratings, generating income.. like I said 166 countries around the world don’t have 50 million people in it.. so to downplay 15 percent when that number is over 50 million shows they don’t know how important it isYou still believe this? How long has that statistic been 13% when every other demographic has changed?
When I speak, I like to know what I'm talking about.I know you think there was quality black films b4 that but obviously the racist of Hollywood didn’t or didn’t care to acknowledge our films which goes back to my original point of them not wanting us to eat at their establishment .. our debate wouldn’t go anywhere cause you fail to realize that it was an ongoing known fact that the Oscar’s were struggling at ratings for yrs prior to the Denzel/halle Oscar’s.. you would have to acknowledge that fact first, than understand why it was important to expand their audience.. than you downplay our percentage in America like 50 million strong isn’t huge in any area of business.. 50 million is more people than 166 countries population around the world.. our population alone is bigger than 83 percent of other countries population .. so you talking about a huge demographic you would want to tap into especially with a struggling show
Did you read what they said about 1999 ratings? While they were high it was a significant drop.. from 98 to 99 the Oscar’s lost 15 million viewers… Oscar’s were getting 55 + million b4 98 and in the early 2000s in the lower 40 million… oh did you see that part..probably didn’t..I win againWhen I speak, I like to know what I'm talking about.
With that said, you're very hung up on the ratings of the Oscars. And how they were slumping, and that they only gave Halle and Denzel Oscars because of the slumping numbers and that they were used to get Black people to help with their slumping ratings.
Can you do me a favor?
Check the slumping viewership numbers the years around the time Halle and Denzel won.
Oh and I already know the numbers.

It's not about winning this is a discussion, and your thirst to be right and never be wrong is a bit saddening. But that's how most people are, they can never admit to being wrong.Did you read what they said about 1999 ratings? Is losing 15 million viewers or 27 percent a good thing or bad thing? Is that a decrease in audience? Did I not say that Oscar’s were losing viewers and struggling? You decided to bring up the numbers again to try to prove your argument correct but it ended up proving I was correct again.. so me saying they were trying to gain viewership by getting black people or as you said 15 percent of the population which was 50 million people would seem like a thing to do.It's not about winning this is a discussion, and your thirst to be right and never be wrong is a bit saddening. Do you have any idea why there was a significant drop in viewership from the 1998 Oscars vs the 1999 Oscars? Is losing 15 million viewers or 27 percent a good thing or bad thing? lol, so did I.
After 15min or so, I turned it off.

Lol someone said I was thirsty to be right and responded a half hour later attempting to do the same thing but he doesn’t call himself sad for doing the same exact thing he claims I do.. hey black kettle..you said over an hr ago you were not gonna debate but have responded numerous times since than.. you are what you claim I am, but I don’t try to insult you about it.. as I pointed out about the 55 million viewership numbers did drop after.. titanic did have it go high.. maybe the Oscar people wanted the same or similar, I do know they complained about the dip, even the thing I saw said how the numbers significantly dropped , many shows talked about the numbers declining, that’s how I knew the numbers dropped off , I don’t watch the show so how did I know about the numbers declining? Cause tv, news articles from back in the days mentioned it.. still doesn’t explain why lots of black cinema wasn’t nominated prior to Halle, Denzel, still doesn’t negate the twitter fact about only having 6 black individuals winning the award, still dose t negate that this wasn’t “our” award show,Do you have any idea why there was a significant drop in viewership from the 1998 Oscars vs the 1999 Oscars?
I do.
The 1997 Oscars was a regular Oscars with 40 million viewers.
The 1998 Oscars had between 55-57 million viewers and do you know why?
Because the biggest fucking movie ever "Titanic" was nominated for awards and people wanted to see them win.
There was no Titanic in 1999 so only 46 million people watched which was 6 million more than watched the year before Titanic.
46 million people also watched in 2000.
There was a decline in the 2001 Oscars, only 43 million people watched. Coincidentally 2001 was the year that Denzel won his Oscar for best actor.
In 2002 there was also a decline with 41.8 million people watching the Oscars. Coincidentally 2002 was also the year that Halle Berry won her Oscar for best actress.
Denzel also won an Oscar for best supporting actor in 1989.
Remember you asked for this by wanting to "Win" and dying to be right. When I knew the entire time that you were wrong.
But wasn't interested in proving it.
So in short, there "Weren't" these huge slumping numbers for the Oscars the year or years before Denzel and Halle were nominated and won.
Like you insinuated.
The viewership number to the Oscars are below.
