Oregon Ducks 48 Ohio State 17

The coach and the recruits

so basically everything. That ain't BIG 10 football that won the national championship. As a Penn State alumni you know that for damn sure is true.

Now what Jim is about to do in Michigan will be similar to what the Big 10's proud long standing tradition was built upon.

How you seen their roster? It's 95% Midwest

http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/osu-m-footbl-mtt.html

The coach is a Midwest guy

They wore down Oregon with a bigger stronger O/D line and ran the ball that's always been Big 10 ball

I hate Ohio state btw.

Where the recruits come from isn't why it's sec ball, the type of people he's recruiting is why it's sec football
I disagree, I've seen this before when he was the coach at my favorite school.

Florida always had the bigger and stronger o/d line.. many of them can be seen on sunday..1 is starting for your steelers at center right now.

and spread power dive won 2 national championships in florida and now 1 in ohio state.

Nah I don't buy that SEC team stuff, even when you kats don't win yall still want credit:hmm:...That's a Big 10 team with Big 10 area players

Dude is from Ohio and coached at OSU in the 80's, Bowling Green, Notre Dame, OSU again.....if ever there was a Big 10/ Midwest guy it would be Urban Meyer

And the Big 10 has always put offensive and defensive linemen in the NFL..hell Penn state has a few pro bowlers playing

Btw
Larry Johnson is one of the most underrated coaches in football..should be a head coach somewhere.

that's not true at all.
he ran the power at florida almost exclusively. he ran it with the backs and then he ran it with tebow. just like you saw last night.

the myth is that it's a spread offense. it's not its a power running offense.

Well if it's not true then Oregon's d coord just made up some shit for no reason. I'm an Auburn fan so if anybody knows about a spread and down hill running it's me. He didn't use Jones like he used Tebow last night, he used him like Gus used Cam. When Myer had cam he promised the job to Brantley for whatever reason. He been salty ever since about that. This time he knew exactly what to do.

You don't have to buy it. It's true. It's not trying to take credit. You just saw him perfect his craft at florida. leave and then do the same thing in ohio. they didn't win playing big 10 style of football period.
if you want to try and play the "oh they're big and they run game" sure you can try to say it's big 10 football but that's not the case.

the speed is the major difference and its why they dominate the big 10 now and can play with the sec and win the championship.

that's just the truth. lol dude had his most success in the sec and you want to talk about the 80's

Dude. I am a florida fan you can't tell me what my team did and did not do.

You forget Cam was on Florida BEFORE he was on Auburn what do you think he was going to do with him in florida when he got on the field?

Did the oregon d coordinator look like he knew what he was doing at any point? And your going to take his word on things?

You're right he didn't use Jones like he used Tebow because tebow couldn't pass to save his life but he did use Chris Leak like he used Jones and then would bring in tebow to do the other side of it which is the outright dive.

Regardless of how smart we all think we might be it's hilarious to think our knowledge is superior to his because he lost the CHAMPIONSHIP game.....and clearly you didn't even read my post to say that stuff about cam to me. But just like you said you know your team I know mine and that game look exactly like when we played them except I think our d line might have been a bit better and osu secondary was ALOT better than ours at that time. But no point arguing. And yeah I know all about the leak Tebow thing, we were the only team to beat them doing it....But he didn't run Tebow 15 carries a game when he was coming off the bench his freshman year

You'd be a dumb ass GM if it didn't work out. But if it worked out you'd be a genius. Raiders are called dumbasses for taking Jamarcus #1st overall but at the time I didn't see anyone complain and everyone projected him to be the best QB in the league.

jamarcus had talent... the arm strength and the accuracy.

dude was mental; he had NO LOVE for the game, no work ethic... didn't care. they say he lost it when he lost his uncle and grandfather in a short timeframe.

that's not true at all.
he ran the power at florida almost exclusively. he ran it with the backs and then he ran it with tebow. just like you saw last night.

the myth is that it's a spread offense. it's not its a power running offense.

it's the single wing offense with a dedicated qb... one that can run WITH POWER and make a good throw when needed. that's why urban recruits big, bruising qbs like tebow, cam, etc.

Where the recruits come from isn't why it's sec ball, the type of people he's recruiting is why it's sec football

:yes::yes::yes:

fast, athletic d-linemen and quick o-linemen that can make those short trap blocks on the counter dive plays.

but the REAL SECRET of SEC football is the strength and conditioning. look at the oregon linemen vs osu's linemen. you can tell which ones have been running stamina drills and which ones have been in the weight room.

Nah nobody was calling this an SEC style team 3 weeks ago or since Meyer got there but now that they Champs...its an SEC type team....those are the same top players on that roster from Ohio and the Midwest that OSU has always gotten....only thing new is the Coach

And by SEC I mean Alabama...too much hype in that "SEC like team"

Ohio State is a Big Ten team..point blank. During the season no one said a thing about Ohio State being a SEC team. Now that they beat down the SEC and PAC 10 and won a title, all of a sudden they're a SEC team LOLOL

Right...if I would've said that shit 3 weeks ago I would've been banned from bgol sports threads

I agree you can't call them an SEC team just because....But one thing Meyer did learn in the SEC is his recruiting tactics and the other big ten coaches were not ready at all when he first got there lol

Anything to keep a superior SEC identity. Truth is Ohio has always been a football hotbed for high school players. Urban has won everywhere ! and he's originally from Ohio. If Urban goes to Rutgers he wins a title there too. The SEC is not better they've had better coaches lately (Saban & Urban) who are Midwest guys (Les Miles too)

so sec football is really big 10 football in disguise?

let me give you guys a clue...

sec football = faster, more athletic linemen, plain & simple. big 10 football is about power; think big, corn fed white boys.

sec football is about power & SPEED on the LOS.. think big, athletic black dudes with dreads & beards. yeah, they look like the guys that play on Sundays & can run 4.8 in the 40.

les miles running a power I, pro style offense at LSU...auburn running a variation of the single wing formation. ALL of that is sec football bc of the type of athlete on the LOS.

watch urban and the oline & dline over the next few yrs...osu gon get more & more blk, more athletic...gon look just like his Florida teams.

the LOS is how LSU came back against wiscky to start the season.. them big white boys got tired & the LSU defense kept moving fast.

This the exact thing I've been telling people. As soon as he got the job he started recruiting D linemen. If they get the kid from East St. Louis it could be a death nail for the next several years. He already has one 5 star D lineman committed.

So what is the reason Aub didn't come back against Wisc in the bowl game? The Big Ten had athletic lineman for years..this ain't the damn 70s.. Y'all in here making shit up LOL.
