One of the biggest strikes in US history is brewing at UPS

Fuck that I'm not trying to have my Amazon packages delayed over this shit

My guy worked corporate for them over 10 years and every Christmas the CORPORATE WORKERS had to go throw boxes to help out. And he was Director level exec!

Fuck that shit
They do the same at FedEx and Amazon Logistics. They get a day or two of service to help out because they don’t hire enough help.

It all comes down to inflation and payment. Can’t boast record profits and pay for the workers in CX, uX and operations is not increasing. Corporate greed is finally catching up to them.

Yep. Real talk.
Like 3 or 4 years ago I wanted a new job and went on an interview because I thought they did okay.

They told me the pay, said I'd get a raise in like 10years and said I had to shave my beard too lol. I looked at that cac like he had an extra head and dead ass got up and walked out of the interview lol.

Oh yeah. Forgot about that. I had to shave as well. No facial hair below the lips or some shit.

I saw an interview with an owner of Slices Pizza in San francisco. Said he had to shut down because his "liberal" employees expected $16 an hour.

In other words it's the workers fault that he didn't check the SF minimum wage before he set up shop. LoL

Isn’t Michael Franzese a big investor in that franchise?

I use to pack them big ass trucks, when I was an overnight youngin'

By the end of the night....

FUCK YO BOXES!

maybe the dude said that.
I personally don't think a company should dictate your appearance unless they're breaking you off some real money.

I worked at UPS for a few months back when I was 19. That shit was SLAVERY. Northwest unload. Summertime in a hot ass warehouse, packages come down a big ass slide by the hundreds and
thousands...with a MF standing right behind you with a watch counting how many boxes you throw onto multiple belts. They fired me multiple times. FUCK UPS.

This is why I drive Over The Road (OTR).

No stress, no aggravation like what I have read in this thread.

When you work local, they will work you hard and pay you crap, cuz they know you are mainly doing the job to be home everyday, unlike OTR where they pamper you to some extent.

I work for USPS 30yrs Day one APWU Union! I stand with the Union no matter what! But Teamsters Union is Gangsta ( started from the Mafia) they telling whitehouse… AYE - mind ya .bidness look da other way

You can't be part of a major player in the transportation system and go on strike. I just went thru this with the railroads. It's all talk but the president and Congress will force you to work as it will cripple the economy. These unions need to get off the golf course and out the bars and find better ways to leverage the companies to get worker benefits. Because believe me all the CEOs and COOs etc know you can't strike. They'll weight you out like they did us last year.

This strike is gonna happen regardless.

They had plenty of time to negotiate and agree on the contract. UPS is just gonna let it roll and say “FUCK YOU Teamsters”.

UPS has been wanting to bust the Union for decades. They got rid of UPS Freight, now they moving on to other sections of the company.

Wall Street wants full elimination of American Labor Union.

Interesting that I’m finding out about this deal on BGOL.

I received no news alerts on this all day.

I had my radio on the news in my truck earlier and heard nothing.

The corporate news media ain’t happy with this obviously.

BIG CONGRATS TO UPS!!!

No doubt, and most important congratulations to me, this means my Amazon packages will still be coming on time!

I don't know if it is so much a sign of being displeased as it is disinterest in matters affecting working people.

MSNBC has, it seems, dedicated the bulk of its prime time programming to "Trump indictment watch." Maybe that's just easier to feed people?

Nobody should be surprised.

UPS is already scheming on how to screw over the Teamsters when the contract comes back up for renewal.

UPS to cut 12,000 jobs 5 months after agreeing to new labor deal

UPS has roughly 500,000 employees. On a conference call Tuesday morning, CEO Carol Tome said that by reducing the company's headcount UPS will realize $1 billion in cost savings. Tome also said that UPS is ordering employees to return to the office five days a week this year.

UPS says it is cutting 20,000 staff and shutting over 70 facilities

UPS will cut 20,000 jobs in 2025 as it overhauls its US network to cut costs and boost efficiency. The shipping giant plans to shutter 73 facilities and save $3.5 billion as demand remains soft. The cuts are linked to the "changing trade environment," CEO Carol Tomé said.
