This is one of the biggest issues w our every 4 year election system.
You have Trump who has to grandstand and accomplish all these short term goals to keep constituents happy.
Does anyone really believe that these tariffs are the answer to Americas long term success.

China was facing economic challenges before Nixon’s visit and the opening of trade. In the late 90s, they successfully regained control of Hong Kong from the British and Macau from the Portuguese. If they manage to reclaim Taiwan from the US, it could mean check mate.
China's economic transformation has been the greatest in recorded history. Its been amazing to witness. It doesn't mean they are perfect, it doesn't mean there isn't fuckery behind the scenes. The facts are what they are however.
