Man please. The Paul trade was rejected mainly because league owns the Hornets. Also Lakers would be saving money even though the trade is fair value. NO is not getting any cap relief. In the Dwight deal the Magic are getting cap relief and picks along with a guy that is young and damn near 20 and 10. Huge difference.i think he's going to the lakers... lakers will take jameer and turk send back bynum, odom, gasol multiple firsts ... the league just fucked over the lakers, they gonna help them out... plus its a better deal talent wise, lets not forget the magic are considering being up for sale too.
if u read gilberts letter the owners will be involved in trades now...they don't want anymore easy kwame brown gasol deals... essentially lopez and just 2 firsts for howard and turk is a kwame brown deal. nj won't wont even be over the cap so the small market teams won't benefit...
also reading more into the paul deal, stern rejected it b/c he doesn't want players to dictate where they go...dwight demanding the nets falls under the same reasons he rejected the paul trade. only way thias happens is if the nets allow themselves to be gutted and take back more salary. that fits the conditions set by the paul rejection.
i'm not saying this as a knicks fan but as someone who just read all this shit involving paul. if the lakers offer better talent he's going to the lakers nets will have to sweeten their offer nd be gutted to satisfy the small market owners. if the lakers let themselves be gutted the small market owners will approve. remember the nba rejected paul alsio b/c howard was coming to lakers.
its a new era for superstar trades. chris paul rejection shows that.
