He tells you in every post, “Daily.”
a hundred yrs ago black Wall Street was destroyed... most people didnt know it exist until a few yrs ago.. that was less than a hundred yrs ago.. so imagine what kind of info was lost, destroyed, forgotten, hidden, or ignored from 1700 yrs ago
Point well taken.

Then we look to Egypt and see civil actions 10X as old with immaculate information preservation.

The works cited just...isn’t...there.
The bible doesn't condone brutality that was chattle slavery here and elsewhere. We were dehumanized to justify the treatment we received, and this still goes on today with police brutality and the treatment of immigrants (kids in cages etc)

There are several members here far more knowledgeable than I when it comes to biblical history. If you want a decent discussion most likely you will need to bump this thread next week. Too many folks are preoccupied with the election right now.
Camille, I am so surprised at you with this.
You and I have had a handful of conversations about GOD and your impression of his personal work in your life on why you have faith in him, but you could at least be honest about the text.

There is abundant evidence of the support of slavery in the Old Testament and not enough anti-slavery messaging in the New Testament. Yeah, Jesus gave two commandments (really just one) and you see how that sh!t worked out. We allowed ourselves to get f*cked!

I believe it is always a good time, especially during an election to discuss the effects of Stockholm syndrome, cognitive dissonance, and indoctrination. It is the foundation on why we feel comfortable adopting religious and political ideologies that bear evidence, day after day, that don’t serve us.

I find you very engaging, highly intelligent, and infinitely gifted. And as a Black woman, I want to really understand what Jesus can do for you that the God in you hasn’t already done or make you think you can’t do in the future for yourself?

You remind me so much of my sister. Heart of gold, gifted beyond belief, personally she is a scientist, and still hits the church every Sunday like she wouldn’t know how to do any of this without being a Christian.

We grew up in the same household. Sh!t is mind boggling to watch. The mental and psychological bondage is heartbreaking, but she has a heart made of platinum and loves me like I am going out of style. Just wish she knew it was her GOD within and not credit Jesus.

West Africans believed in God (Supreme Creator) before they even boarded the first ship. I am trying to figure out what added value does a African descended person find in calling themselves a Christian? Like, what tangibles do you get that your ancestors did not. I know one thing, they benefited so much from a direct connect, Europeans coveted it, co-opted it, converted it, and colonialists us with it and we LOVE it! I can’t even lie, that is some BAWSE shit because it has worked for centuries.
I think man really misses the bigger picture when you try to look at things from Gods point of view. Life is his to give and take. But is life the end to a being who always was and always will be? We have no idea what it really takes to create life, the universe, and beyond. The balance it requires? The science is impossible to even image. We can't duplicate it so we are in no place to even question it. How arrogantly he must see us. And yet some choose not to believe what's evident. Like this shit just happened. Take the Bible out of the equation.
GOD is not a he or she. It is an entity, an energy if you will. Man tries to humanize GOD when in fact we don’t know if God created Man OR if Man created GOD.

We all know what it takes to create: sex. Every organism has the power to have it with itself or another of its kind and we have been doing it for billions of years.

Oir lives in this body are temporary, sure, but energy (spirit) is neither created nor destroyed, simply transferred from one form to another.

Now that sound like infinity. That sounds like GOD. All encompassing. Our life is given to us to learn as much towards infinity s we possibly can and no one in this lifecycle knows for sure what happens to us next, for no one has died, come back, and told us, but that doesn’t mean that information is not out there.

The Bible is like Aesop Fables and Ned in the First reader. It’s foundational. Has great examples and parables on a basic level, but not that information that can elevate your higher conscience. That is what all the other books that came before it, and since, are for.

I respect your perspective, though. This is a good discussion.
lol i mean i just dont understand if you don't believe in god then why you niggas make post about him? why yall made because others believe lol i swear you people are the weirdest group of people in the world.is it because you think god let you down so you're on a ima bash jesus kick? well listen ok rather you believe or not my friend that's your choice and i respect that but check it,god haven't turn his back on you non believers he loves you no matter what and when you're ready to hear him he will speak to you.right now you have your eyes locked on the earthly things and when its time your eyes will be open again.see i don't care if you say whatever about what i am saying to you i dont internet beef but im just telling you and the rest of yall that y'all look dumb for making all these post about god but yet you don't believe.i enjoy them because nothing you or anyone else will ever change my mind or make me think any different.you niggas think of god like he is a genie and looked on like i said the earthly troubles of the world and i will end on this i will not respawn to yall with anger nor beef but ill continue praying for yall and know he still loves you because MY god is real. you people have a good night..
Your GOD. Exactly. Your faith. Your belief.

Now, when your God really means the God of the Bible or Judeo-Christianity or that God is Jesus, now we got a problem because then you are superimposing something you have not fully researched into impressionable minds, reducing their power to make a decision while thinking for themselves.
That’s psychological warfare and that shot is highly effective.

Look at your Black brothers and sisters in America. Morally rich, but psychologically, spiritually, financially, emotionally, and politically poor. Sh!t...is...heartbreaking.

Yooo, this is my guy!

He and I actually exchanged numbers. He is cool as a fan.

If you are Black in America and were raised Christian, or are an adult and still Christian, his inaugural title Holy Lockdown is a MUST read, PERIOD!
I am looking this sh!t up ASAP!

I actually started collecting versions of the Bible about 10 years ago. Never heard of this before.

Nice drop.

These memes feel overboard, however, we are not truly aware how effective the psychological warfare has been our minds. Our belief in Judeo-Christianity is actually a war tactic, and if we were a nation, would be a threat to our national security. It really needs to be abolished

IMHO Jerimiah Camara is the one African American man that every African American should hear speak at least once and yet you will never see on BET you will not see him on OWN. As far as I know, he hasn't been on any Black talkshow on Regular TV. He has appeared on some Black Radio talkshows around the country but hasn't been given the audience of say a T.D Fakes or Peter RipOff has in so called Black Media.

The bible doesn't describe Him as blond and blue eyed. It's unlikely he would be either in the part of the world he was born in and hid for the first part of his life. White folks have twisted and white washed religion as they have the rest of history.

If you want a discussion, search for one of the numerous ones we've had in the past.

If you want inspiration and support, state your issue. BGOL is full of wisdom and insight. Some spiritually based, some not. Lashing out in anger hoping to receive a glimmer of hope might get it for you, but it's unlikely.

If you just want to attack a Being who won't punch back, hoping to spar with His children, good luck with that. There are men and women of faith here, but most likely you'll just end up with a bunch of cosigners.

Regardless, posts like this usually have a catalyst, so whatever you're dealing with, I'll pray for you for peace and a resolution.

Damn! I'm far from a christian, but that was one of the best replies I've ever seen on this board.

Whhhyyyy do y'all keep tagging me in this thread? There is doctrine regarding this, old vs new testament, law vs grace, the purpose of the law which man couldn't actually keep etc. I'm not in the mind space to discuss any of this now, and it's been years since I've studied it, and I'm not a teacher anyway. I do recommend RB Theime, he's old school, passed years ago. His ministry had a series of tapes/cds they give for free, but like anything you have folks associated with his ministry that is almost like a cult when legalism slips in. People are always ready, able and willing to do the worst to each other. Some of his stuff is online, he has one that deals with spiritual slavery, but most of his publications are best partnered with the recording of sermons. http://www.rbthieme.org/PDF/Slave_Market_of_Sin.pdf

I was raised in a Christian household. My grandfather was a pastor, and I'm convinced my praying mama is what got her and us through the hard times and still covers me today though my personal journey stands apart from my family background. My mom always told us science is man's way of discovering what God has already created. Science was never seen as being in opposition to God. Wisdom and education was never seen as being in opposition to God. You have a bunch of fearful Christians today, mostly rw evangelicals and a few black folks and other PoC, fearful that something in the world can disprove God. I don't believe that, and I see science and technology as a gift from God. Christians should be on the forefront of breakthroughs. Also too many people see Christianity as complacency and oppression because it was used by other people to oppress and silence. That's because they digest the bible through the commentary of others and not the word directly. Seriously though. I've commented on all this before, and don't feel like being baited into another discussion. Love ya, but lemme lone.
