Whhhyyyy do y'all keep tagging me in this thread? There is doctrine regarding this, old vs new testament, law vs grace, the purpose of the law which man couldn't actually keep etc. I'm not in the mind space to discuss any of this now, and it's been years since I've studied it, and I'm not a teacher anyway. I do recommend RB Theime, he's old school, passed years ago. His ministry had a series of tapes/cds they give for free, but like anything you have folks associated with his ministry that is almost like a cult when legalism slips in. People are always ready, able and willing to do the worst to each other. Some of his stuff is online, he has one that deals with spiritual slavery, but most of his publications are best partnered with the recording of sermons. http://www.rbthieme.org/PDF/Slave_Market_of_Sin.pdf

I was raised in a Christian household. My grandfather was a pastor, and I'm convinced my praying mama is what got her and us through the hard times and still covers me today though my personal journey stands apart from my family background. My mom always told us science is man's way of discovering what God has already created. Science was never seen as being in opposition to God. Wisdom and education was never seen as being in opposition to God. You have a bunch of fearful Christians today, mostly rw evangelicals and a few black folks and other PoC, fearful that something in the world can disprove God. I don't believe that, and I see science and technology as a gift from God. Christians should be on the forefront of breakthroughs. Also too many people see Christianity as complacency and oppression because it was used by other people to oppress and silence. That's because they digest the bible through the commentary of others and not the word directly. Seriously though. I've commented on all this before, and don't feel like being baited into another discussion. Love ya, but lemme lone.
I hear you.

You are a rare breed!

I appreciate your explanation, however, in the future try not comment in threads you don’t want to be involved in.

Few yrs back, youtube video was posted of a white dude who made a compelling argument against the existence of God, basically saying if God gave us free will then he shouldn't be mad when we do sumn bad with it. And if he truly loves us, then we shouldn't worry about going to hell or sumn along those lines. Anyone got a link??
