Re: ***** OFFICIAL UFC 111 thread - Saturday, March 27th, 2010 - GSP/HARDY main event

I agree on both. Evens/Jackson will be straight fireworks and I'm praying for a knockout from either.

And people just want to hate GSP but if they truly read between the lines they could see GSP smile and you can tell that he had Hardy in his hands. It was like a hazing. The dude talked alot of shit and GSP wanted 25 minutes to kick his ass. :lol:

I was hoping he'd have teared Hardy's arm off at the end of the first round.

IF GSP were an asshole or had the killer instinct ... he would have ... but we all knew we'd be on the edge of our seats considering he gave Serra a number of rounds in their rematch / ALVES 20 - 25 mins / FITCH 25 mins / Penn 20 mins in their rematch / etc. He doesn't make quick work of people ... but we hope he finds that over time :lol: - he was dominant though and took little to no damage, and took Hardy down 10 - 11 times (or more). We lost count!

Re: ***** OFFICIAL UFC 111 thread - Saturday, March 27th, 2010 - GSP/HARDY main event

I don't think he's being credit for anything he hasn't earned. No one has said he is the PFP best or anything crazy. He has manhandled and destroyed a series of decent fighters who have never been treated the way he treated them.
But I can understand where you're coming from although I don't agree at all.

Solid stand up? Vera can't strike now? Hammill is a bitch? Bonnar has no arms? Nobody said these guys are superfighters but they aren't bums. Vera is nowhere near a bum. You're missing something. It isn't that Jones beat these people. It's how he beat them. He pummeled Hamill into a hospital stay. He ragdolled Bonnar. Ragdolled. He fucking ragdolled Vera and literally broke dude's fuckin face to the point bones were floating and pushing his eye around. That's not just winning, that is fuckin destruction.
Wrestling wise its no haps because Jon Jones is a fucking wrestler- a champion albeit at Juco level - he did get a free ride to a good D1 program. Knowing that and seeing his athletic skills you really think someone is going to dominate him with wrestling? Sorry man but that shit is NOT happening. Vera is a BJJ black belt too and couldnt do shit. Grappling wise its no haps man.

Str8 up I'm a Rampage fan for life but you are insane thinkin he can touch Jones. Ramp is way too slow for that. Shogun would be a great fight for him. So would Rashad. He's going to get thrown in with those guys next so its coming. I never said Jones is unstoppable so you're getting a little carried away there but he definitely presents problems for all the guys you mentioned. Ramp is way too slow and he's not adapting to shit. I dont even want Ramp fighting Rashad because the speed difference is so high. The only thing Ramp has going for him is his KO power, great standup and Rashad's error prone style and weak chin.
Speed kills. As long as Jones has it we may never see his chin tested. Best believe vets in the UFC see a shark in the water and Jones smells blood.
Im not saying dude is invincible - just sayin Im going to be entertained by his fights for the foreseeable future cuz he is there to dismantle mufuckas. I really can't remember anyone destroying opponents as badly as he has cept for Brock. Brock pummeling Mir and how Alves looked after GSP destroyed him, BJ's destruction of Diego.
Hes a yound dude though so I dont expect perfection but damn this kid is a fuckin freak.

Now I didn't say Vera and them are bums, notice I said they aren't top 5. That is credit to Jones as I feel he is far to good for those mid-ranking fighters. As far as Rampage, I didn't mean he has the speed to match Jones. I feel he has enough power to not get tossed around like a bitch lol. Jon Jones is the future along with a couple of other very skilled guys like Nate Diaz. What you don't see is that he can still learn alot more than he knows. He hasn't been tested yet. We haven't seen if he has a chin or if he has the heart to fight against the odds.

Like I said, I am rooting for him. I just tend not to get to far ahead because we've seen this before but in a different way. Vera, Mir, Ken-Flo, Diego. Those guys came charging in the UFC head-first and the future seemed bright. Some got tested and never rebounded while others did. Ijust want to truly see Jones unlock his FULL potential. Trust me bro, I'm with you 100%I'm just ready for that next level and see if he's ready for the big boys.

I think the next fight for him should be against someone like Keith Jardine or Luiz Cane.

what i dont see? cmon man how the fuck am i saying a new fighter cant learn more? :lol: cmon son

i agree with all u just said though

just rememebered
jones has 12years of greco according to rogan so u may need to cop some salt for that - vera was an us olympic team candidate or member for greco and us airforce greco champ
but since rogan said that it could be that they both watched a greco roman match once or twice :lol:

man :lol: Jardine is like a bucket of chum
uhohhh if he beats Jardine Rashad is gonna have problems :lol:

But Jardine is a name that could only boost Jones higher into the rankings. I wouldn't throw Jones in there with W. Silva or Thiago Silva just yet.

I could see a competitive fight between BONES/WANDERLEI in that Wandy's still got some good fight left in him.

As for THIAGO SILVA? I dunno ... I wasn't impressed at all in his 3-round loss to RASHAD. I thought Evans looked alot better than him in there. Thiago Silva (although he has strong punching power + great ground game) just seemed sluggish in comparison ... and Bones is quick/strong/agile/unorthodox enough to pose him some problems.

Just my fuckin' $0.02.

:lol::lol::lol:

MIR / CARWIN / LESNAR / REFEREE

:lol::lol::lol:

Nice drop. This will be a good fight. I knew he was going to handle Mir. Mir put on 10lbs of LBM and probably was a lot stronger than when he fought Brock. Didn't help his chin though. :lol:

5 - 6 LEFT UPPERCUTS IN CLOSE + SOME ADDITIONAL SHOTS FOR GOOD MEASURE ON THE CANVAS FROM A DUDE ROCKIN' 4X GLOVES AND IN-CLOSE POWER?

:eek::lol:

Peace, Frank.

Carwin and Lesnar ain't Kongo ... :lol:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JpzoeKchKk

Mir just wasn't used to carrying that weight. He was slow on his feet (and Carwin was slower). The old Mir would bounce in and out using his jab and legkicks.

I agree on that. 10 lbs is a lot of weight. But would he have been able to hold Carwin off when he got his hands on him if he didn't have the weight? With that 10lbs I bet he gained a lot of strength and still had problems trying to hold carwin off.

This is a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't. Either way he was fucked. I don't think Lesnar is going to manhandle Carwin like has has everybody else, I think he can control him, but no manhandling.

Yeah - shit's gonna be good when it happens this year or next.

BL vs. SC.

He didn't gain strength though. He gained GYM strength. That ain't functional strength.

any pix of him since?

You didn't see how big he look at the fights.

Made Carwin look like a 205er.

Brock looks like he got his weight back up. Shane has to be 270 easy for the fight and looks like a normal sized man next to him. :smh: :smh:

UFC tryna WWF Shane's stats. I guess Shane cuts height along with weight.

He's not taller than the ref.

ANABOLIC steroids blew a hole in his shit and then a medically prescribed one repaired it ...lets keep it real LOL

I think Carwin was listed at 6'5", and he was shorter than Frank at 6'2".

And he is significantly smaller than Brock. Not that it isn't going to be an earth shaker, but oops on those made up stats :lol:

Yeah ... I didn't think Carwin was that big. And Brock looks alot bigger than Dan Mirugliotta (and that cat ain't a small muthafucka either) :lol::lol::lol:

WIKI - "The Ultimate Fighter: Team Liddell vs Team Ortiz is the eleventh installment of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)-produced reality television series The Ultimate Fighter. The show began taping in early 2010[2] and will premiere on Spike on March 31, 2010[1], with a live finale on June 19.[3][4]

The UFC and Spike TV held open tryouts on October 26, 2009, in Los Angeles, California. The casting call went out for middleweight and light heavyweight fighters. Fighters wanting to try out for the show must have been at least 21 years old and have had a professional MMA record.[3] 300 fighters showed up to the tryouts including UFC veterans Jason Lambert[5], Nick Thompson and Logan Clark[2], International Fight League and EliteXC veteran Wayne Cole[5], as well as season 1 TUF competitor and former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Bobby Southworth.[2] In addition to the open tryouts, the UFC also accepted applications available through its website until November 9, 2009.[6]

During The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights Finale, Dana White announced that the coaches would be Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell. White also announced that the fighters for this season would compete in the middleweight weight class. The season will feature 28 fighters as opposed to the usual 16 or 32. The series boasts a new "wildcard" format in which the two coaches will pick two fighters who lost their preliminary bouts to face each other for the eighth spot in the quarter-finals.[4]

Welcome to the final chapter of St. Pierre: Armour of Invincibility.

This last Act delves into the occurrences of 2007, or year of the upset and how it affected GSP. Also progressing even further into his career up until the point of the March 27th, 2010 bout with Dan the Outlaw Hardy.
