... good point. Where did you get yours? Best Buy has it for $150. The Samsung gear s2 is too much at $300
It was a gift
Samsung Galaxy Gear S. Best feature is that I can use it independent from phone. It call send and receive text and make phone call. I have access to my incoming email. t relays most of my phones notifications.

It has it own SIM Card.

The synthetic band is too hot.

I believe most smart watches have those functions

For those with samsung smartwatches go to http://gearfaces.com/ for watchfaces. You will need to download the Samsung gear app and Multi-watch styler.
xda-developers.com has other info on all android watches and shows you how to make your own faces.

my nephew has an Apple watch and he needs to have his phone in order to call via his watch. My watch can call independent of my phone.
thats the one that can have its own phone number, right?

yes.

it is most useful in places you shouldn't be checking phone like at the movies or at work. no one gives you a second look when you are staring at your watch.

other than that . . .

So I got the Zenwatch 2 at Best Buy. I needed a watch, so I took a chance.

Not bad. Lags at times. Has decent watch face options. Had a few ppl ask me about it, looks stylish. Gunmetal frame with brown leather. Need to explore the functionality a bit more. So far, the best feature is alerting me when I get messages and calls because I miss themy when my phone is on vibrate or in my pocket.

Battery life varies. Paired to my phone with the screen always on drains it quickly. I'll still get a day'so worth out of it. Disable Bluetooth and turn the screen off, it lasts a few days. I hate charging every day but it is what it is.

Gonna play around with this IF app to see what else I could do.

If it's lagging out the box, reboot. There is an update for it. Various watch faces will also drain your battery and make it lag.

Here's a nice password manager that syncs across all of your devices. No need to pull out your device to get some info, just check your watch, which you can put a password on. Highly recommend buying the app. Of course you can try it out for two weeks i believe.
http://www.safe-in-cloud.com/en/
SafeInCloud Password Manager allows you to keep your logins, passwords, and other private info safe and secure in an encrypted database. You can synchronize your data with another phone, tablet, Mac or PC via your own cloud account.

No subscriptions, no monthly fees! You purchase SafeInCloud once and use it on all your Android devices without any additional fees.

EASY TO USE
Try it yourself and enjoy an easy-to-use yet powerful user interface.

MATERIAL DESIGN
SafeInCloud was completely redesigned to match new Material Design user interface language by Google. In addition to the standard Light theme SafeInCloud also has a Dark theme option to help you saving a significant amount of battery life.

STRONG ENCRYPTION
Your data is always encrypted on a device and in a cloud with a strong 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). This algorithm is used by the U.S. Government for protection of a top secret information. AES is also widely adopted worldwide and became the de facto encryption standard.

CLOUD SYNCHRONIZATION
Your database is automatically synchronized with your own cloud account (Google Drive, Dropbox, Yandex Disk, or OneDrive). Thus you can easily restore your entire database from a cloud to a new phone or computer (in case of a loss or an upgrade). Your phone, tablet and computer are also automatically synchronized between each other via a cloud.

LOGIN WITH FINGERPRINT
You can instantly unlock SafeInCloud with a fingerprint on devices with a fingerprint sensor. This feature is available on all Samsung devices. Devices from other manufacturers should have Android 6.0 or higher.

ANDROID WEAR APP
You can put some selected cards on your wrist to easily access them on the run. These could be your credit card PINs, door and locker codes.

PASSWORD STRENGTH ANALYSIS
SafeInCloud analyses your password strengths and shows a strength indicator next to each password. The strength indicator displays an estimated crack time for a password. All cards with weak passwords are marked with a red sign.

PASSWORD GENERATOR
The password generator helps you generating random and secure passwords. There is also an option to generate memorable, but still strong passwords.

BROWSER INTEGRATION
The Desktop application integrates with a browser. This allows you to paste passwords directly into web pages. You don't need to manually copy and paste passwords from SafeInCloud into a browser. The mobile application contains a built-in browser with a similar password auto-fill functionality.

CROSS PLATFORM
SafeInCloud is available on the following platforms: Mac (OS X), iOS (iPhone and iPad), Windows, and Android.

FREE DESKTOP APP
Download a free Desktop application for Windows or Mac OS from www.safe-in-cloud.com to be able access your database on your computer. The Desktop application also makes data entry and editing fast and easy using a hardware keyboard.

AUTOMATIC DATA IMPORT
The Desktop application can automatically import your data from another password manager. You don't need to manually reenter all your passwords.

Speaker support rolling out

http://www.droid-life.com/2016

An update for Android Wear was announced this morning by Google and will start to rollout to all watches over the “next few weeks.” The update will introduce expanded functionality to items like voice actions and gestures, but will also activate the speaker that has been hidden for months inside of select devices.

Back in March of last year, Google first introduced gestures to Android Wear that allowed you to flip between cards without touching a thing. In this update, new gestures will allow you to pull down the settings shade, open the app menu, return to home, cancel actions before they complete, and perform other actions on cards. Details of these gestures were first revealed in November.

As for new voice action support, Google is giving you more options for sending messages with your voice through apps like Hangouts, Nextplus, Telegram, Viber, WeChat, and WhatsApp. All you’ll need to say is, “OK, Google, send a Hangouts message to Kellen: Let’s get beer now.” and it’ll send that message to me through Hangouts.

Finally, because some Android Wear watches were built with hidden speakers in them that you didn’t know about, this update makes those active. With an active speaker, you get the power to make and take calls from your watch when connected over to Bluetooth to your phone, plus you can listen to audio/video messages.

The current watches on the market with speakers are the Huawei Watch and ASUS ZenWatch 2.

Again, the update should hit all Android Wear devices within the next few weeks.

About damn time. It would be nice to get audible alerts from alarms, 1 hour intervals, stop watch interval timers, etc. I'm trying to learn how to make apps for wearables, I got some ideas...
