Official HP TouchPad Tablet Thread (just getting ready!)

I finally got mine from hp.
I already knew I liked webos but it's crack on a tablet. I had everything for cm7 downloaded on the desktop and ready to install when I got the tab but I think I'm going to wait a bit... see how long I can survive without apps. I feel like as soon as I install cm will drop another release. I don't know if I can hold out for a beta, yall that have installed it got any problems yet?

I like webos as well, but its really convenient having android on it. The dual boot option is great. you get the best of both worlds. I will say that for what i needed/wanted myself, webos worked perfectly for me.
 
yea if it only had the apps, it coulda been a contender
It's almost embarrassing to think I can't live without certain apps when 2-3 years ago all I had was the plain ol' internet. I guess if your telling me that you don't have any problems with your apps in the android boot I'll go ahead and install later today. I'm going to assume future updates will be easy to install like updating a flashed rom on android phone

I figured that beats audio on here was a gimmick more or less
but it's shitting on my laptop! :lol:
correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's just software based amplification but it sounds good.

Has the battery life changed (decreased) since putting droid on it...?

I've noticed that i have had to charge it more often, but it could be to me heavily using android over the last few days compared to webos....then again, i always have it on standby.

Pirate can you gimmie the link the Android OS to put on the HP Touchpad Tablet... I been waiting for the android CFW for HP Touchpad and I got tired of waiting and forgot about it..

Is it easy to install?

I had 2 devices that I rooted w/ droid and that was the case so I not surprised to hear that
 
the battery does drain fast with the current cyogen build but I switch to android when I need a specific app, otherwise I leave it on webOS. Def a nice option to have. Btw now that I have a mobile device that supports flash with a big enough screen to enjoy it I need to hunt down all the good flash based websites. What do you guys frequent?
 
Ok i never got around to installing Android on my Touchpad but im ready to do it now.. Question is whats the latest method of installing it? and is it still DualBoot??

Can anybody hit me with the latest links??
 
Ok, so I've had my Touchpad for a few weeks now. Don't use it much, but when I picked it up the other day I noticed cracks in the case developing around speaker holes:angry:


This happening to anyone else?

So far, I really don't have any problems with WebOS on the TouchPad. True not really a lot of apps, but I can view real internet on it, so it's not really a biggie. The one issue I do have, is the video cam/chat feature, is only for Skype, which is okay, but I should be allowed to use it for any software or site!:angry:
 
Just got my Touch. What do yall use to convert video files and music files so that they can play on the touchpad.
 
no conversion needed

recommend you install Kalemsoft media player, its nicer than the OEM player
 
I was so pissed for last MONTH I couldn't log into HBOGO, BGOL and some other sites:angry:

I updated it today...

and this thing is FLYING!!!!:dance:

I haven't done a DAMN thing since I got and it has worked fine...

I am going to wait to the last minute to upgrade this thing to Android...

everything is working fine so far:D

You have HBOgo but no android? I use webOS and Android almost equally..how are you using HBOGo on webOS?

haven't modified my HP...

I really haven't seen a REASON yet for it yet..

its fast, I play music on it haven't but any films on there (I will in the near future)

but I can watch anything streaming without any interruption, streams very well...

It fits in well with the desktop, laptop and android phone, no extra expense not complicated and since the update?

it works, used to to be able to watch hulu but no anymore...:(

might be the ONLY reason I switch...

I love the Hulu app for android. It works great. I added the first android Cyanogen mod, not sure (but pretty positive) there are other versions, just haven't had the time to install any updated android mods...I like the games on webOS.....NOVA 2 is the shit, it's only .99 in the HP app store, yet $6.99 in the android market.....I have to admit though, I installed GTA III 10 year anniversary edition for android.....its great!

installed on my touchpad yesterday...runs really smooth, issues that were posted i dont use anyway eg camera finally figured out that mtp instead of usb stuff today.only games that i cant get to work are gta 3 and deadspace wont play in landscape.gonna check the versions i got
