OFFICIAL-Green Lantern: "Blackest Night" Thread.

I've been reading DC Comics for awhile and have been getting into Green Lantern more and more and Blackest Night has me hooked but for the real comic book heads I have a question. I've read up on the character Nekron and from what his wiki page says he's not even a real villian as much as he's just an existence. So my dumb question is how the hell do you beat death?

You press reset.

aye i dont mean to sound comic illiterate, but when you say reset, what do you mean? i keep hearing it and i only started reading comics since the corps wars

Is it me or are the Green Lanterns getting their asses kicked by almost all of the other Corps? The Black & Red Lantern Corps are beating the shit outta them with relative ease.

Reset means they write a storyline that says that the previous storyline never happened or was a dream.

Crisis - DC
Zero Hour - DC
One more day - Marvel
etc...

It's in Green Lantern 36-38.. The Ring is looking for a new wearer, since Laira died. Hal is PISSED, and the ring detects his Rage. Seems hal is given to Extremes of emotion.

Yeah in one of his extremes he killed the entire GL corps and then destroyed the universe and was about to restart a new one in his own image. Then Green Arrow hit him with a friendship arrow and Damage generated the big bang to restart the universe....my bad that was Parallax aka the yellow.

It's that whole Who the hell are they thing.

It's called the Worf Effect

When the Monster-of-the-Week or the Big Bad shows up, it invariably picks up the toughest character among the heroes and hurls him across the room (or otherwise takes him out in one blow) in order to demonstrate just how Big and Bad it really is.

Yup. now to see if Hal is gonna do his damn thing.

The story is too lack luster with the commiment for me.

Black Lantern go for the jugular sometimes and other times holding back...Don't see them as a real threat...

Why is BLSuper-Man 2 holding Martha hostage? When he can just kill her and move on to the next order of business.

Meanwhile other BLs are killing people whole sale...

bah.

I meant to say. I think Hal is gonna become a White Lantern.. BUT He wont stay one. Seems that Hal is the only person capable of wielding all the rings of each corps.

BUT I think Dove is going to be the "Head" of the White Lanterns.. I think White represents Peace. Alot of BL seems to focus on him being at peace..

So I think he's the anithesis of painful death.

Isn't the appropriate correlation to be Black = Vengeance and White = Peace?

BTW - Character development wise - It does not make any storyline sense that Hal would be a white lantern. I mean I know they are going to do it but it just won't make sense that he does become one.

It really should be another cosmic character that has consistently upheld their traits better.

I agree with that. Johns has surprised me before.. Specially on that Legion of Three worlds ending. So I guess we'll have to wait and see. But I think Dove WILL be a white Lantern. If such a thing is to exist.

I was wondering the samething. Like with Batman, why not bring him back as a BL?
Think of some of the other obscure characters they have brought back in the series. Batman was more important and could have done more damage(emotional/physical) that all of them.

They better have a good explanation why the dude needed Bruce Wayne's skull.

I do like how it reads like I'm watching a Zombie movie.

My man,

No matter what they write. They will let you know one thing. That is not Bruce Wayne's bones per se in the grave.

Bruce Wayne is traveling in time and learning yet more skills for his war on crime....*sad*

Watch them be like that was "Black Glove" bones.
