It's not a good sign when Sergio Romero is their best player.:smh:

And this genius of a coach still doesn't put in Pastore, but he puts in Gago?

Also, why is he still starting Lavezzi?

Romero was on point today. He kept Argentina in this bitch all night. Falcao and Armero should've had a brace a piece if not for him.

As for Batista, he's either blind or stupid. :smh:

I get Batista going with 2 DM's, (which is a waste by Argentine standards), but I get it... you're front 3 can't hold the ball for 5 secs, so you need cover... if you're Guatemala.

But you're Argentina! The weapons you bring the table should dictate any fight, but you're worried about playing defense first and then finishing with 4 forwards chasing the game?? :smh: Start Kun. Simple.

As for the two no shows, Lavezzi couldn't bury the one chance he had, and pretty much went obsolete after that. And Cambiasso has no business being in that 22 anymore. He just flat out awful, and he's always pushing forward for some reason with ill regard.

Another one who needed to get his act together was #10. He looked frustrated, unmotivated, and almost heading to pout mode for the length of match. His biggest problem is that he keeps thinking Carlito is David Villa, and Lavezzi is Pedrito. THEY WILL NOT MAKE THOSE RUNS. They're simply not built for that.

Messi should go back to the wing instead of that false 9, cause it's simply not gonna happen with this lot.

That being said, they're gonna get it done in solid fashion against a young Ticos side in their next match, which maybe enough to keep Batista around, and the memories of these two games in the vault for a while, but for my money, i'd throw Batista's ass out on the street out of mere principle.

Shame on you.

Colombia had good team speed to matchup against Argentina's offensive firepower.

The front three for Argentina from here on out should be Tevez, Aguero, and Messi. Why Aguero still is not starting is beyond me...Maybe the coach sees something in Levezzi that others don't.

That Chile Uruguay game was arguably the best game of the tourney so far. Very open football.

The game of football internationally is starting to gain ALOT more parity. These small teams are getting better and better. I've been impressed with both Colombia and Chile so far.

Chile is on point. That Alexis Sanchez in no joke. They've always been competitive in CONEMBOL though. If the smaller teams, Chile, Colombia, Peru etc, played in other regions, they'd give teams a hard time for real.

I know if Chile played in CONCACAF they'd finish first every time.

Yet again we see the best and brightest that FIFA has to offer when it comes to officiating. :hmm:

Glad US came back because that phantom whatever-call on Hope after her pk save was a joke. But an exciting match I must say. I think US might be the favorites with Brazil and Germany gone. I predict a Sweden/USA final.
