@@@Official Cavs thread 2014-2015@@@

Nigga shut up Shump nor JR couldn't lock him up last time they played

Didn't JR have 4pts? Shump ain't even score so you mean Klay locked them niggas up, and first game they played that GS won Klay had 24

Again you talking about the LeBronless Cavs.
And the game that JR had 4 points the Warriors the Cavs fucked with them by allowing LeBron to show up Curry...

Kevin Love continues to say he is staying in Cleveland

Kevin Love, during todays media availability was asked about his health, and yet again, his future plans.

Kevin Love on next season: "I truly expect to be suiting up for Game 1." For the Cavs? Love: "Yes, sir."

— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) May 31, 2015

Why, yes, yet another assertion that he will be here next season. Now, there is always a chance that doesn't happen, but it would be odd for him to go on and on all season saying nothing but that he will be playing in Cleveland and then go against that. Generally we've seen guys hedging, being cryptic, or being vague, but this isn't it.

Still, if you're into being miserable, or if you are working up ways for Love to leave the best player on the planet, Kyrie Irving, and a team in the Finals to play with Kobe Bryant or Isaiah Thomas ... well, you're in luck! His situation won't resolve for about a month and a half, so you do you. I too think that if Love were frustrated by his role and interaction with LeBron James, going to play with Kobe Bryant would be a GREAT idea.

Love also mentioned that he has lost about 15 pounds post surgery, which probably won't matter, or last, even.

We will have more Finals coverage, Kevin Love coverage, or maybe just stories about dogs coming soon. The Finals start in 4 days.

LeBron Cites Irving As Major Reason He Returned To Cavs
MAY 31, 2015 12:20 PM

LeBron James admitted that a major reason he returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers last offseason was due to the future of Kyrie Irving.

Irving signed a maximum contract extension early in free agency last summer.

"Part of the reason I decided to come back from the beginning was how special he was. I noticed that," James said. "To see him grow and see him learn what it means to truly be a professional every day since I've been here is a been a huge reward and it's great to see it. To see his mind process so many different things over the course of these months and be able to translate that not only on the court but off it as well, has been a treat to watch."

^^^ Love is garbage, he's never going to be better than Wiggins

How can people say Loves numbers with the Wolves were inflated due to him playing on a poor team, where Wiggins played for that same team, had less numbers and the team lost a heck of a lot more games, in-spite of actually having better players on that team.
Wiggins has a chance to be a good player, Love when he is healthy is already a good playe...

That said, word from one of the local hosts who always breaking news up here is that Love is gone. Seems to be a combination of things, but the Cavs might not think he is worth the money he wants. It's like Love wouldn't mind staying, but the brinks truck isn't backing up like both parties thought last year. This run didn't help things.

Kevin Love Wants To Remain With Cavs, Wants To Win
JUN 5, 2015 3:09 AM

Kevin Love hadn't played in a playoff game in his NBA career until this season and the experience unfortunately came to an early and sudden end when he injured his shoulder in the first round.

Love can become a free agent this offseason, but he's seen enough as a bystander to want to return to the Cavaliers.

"I had so much fun watching it because I want to be in a moment like that," Love told ESPN after the Cleveland Cavaliers' 108-100 overtime loss to the Golden State Warriors. "I'd rather be out there helping those guys, and I saw a lot of places where I could help.

"I've never wanted to be in a game more than that one," said Love.

Asked specifically if that meant he wanted to be back in Cleveland next season, Love said, "Yes. I want to win."

Love has never publicly wavered from his stance during his lone season with the Cavaliers.

Asked why that speculation remains, Love said, "It's just the way the world works now. People talk so much and might tell themselves a lie so much they start to believe it. From there, the narrative starts to change. I haven't changed my narrative. I'm going to keep supporting these guys, and we'll be talking to Cleveland after the season."

Any team with LeBron can't be counted out - now or next year - but if Love leaves, Cavs have lot to answer for.

Cavs Made $100,000 Gamble In 2013 On Mr. 61 Dellavedova
JUN 10, 2015 11:49 AM

Matthew Dellavedova went undrafted in 2013, but he had immediate interest from several teams including the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks.

The Cavaliers were internally calling Dellavedova their "Mr. 61" as in the 61st pick.

Chris Grant, former general manager of the Cavaliers, eventually agreed upon a contract with Dellavedova's agent Billy Duffy. Dellavedova would get $100,000 guaranteed on a two-year contract that was otherwise non-guaranteed.

Mike Brown watched Dellavedova extensively when he was at St. Mary's because Brown's son, Elijah, was considering accepting a scholarship to play there. Grant knew Randy Bennett of St. Mary's well, and the coach raved about Dellavedova.

"The fact that Chris believed in Delly to the level that he did is paying off for the organization in spades," said Cavs general manager David Griffin, who was the team's assistant GM before ascending last year. "Everyone benefits from everyone that comes before them."

The funny thing about the Aussie is that SOME fans were calling up sports talk asking for Blatt's head when he was giving the Aussie play during the regular season. I've always been a fan for the same reasons people like him now.

This is the exact same shit he did when Irving went down before Lebron came back. I think the Cavs actually won more with him and Waiters playing in the backcourt because he ran the offense and played defense.

Funny how Blatt giving the Aussie play and running with those small lineups with Moz on the bench all seems to be helping now.

How the Cavaliers’ run can lead to a record $200M payroll

http://nypost.com/2015/06/12/how-the-cavaliers-run-can-lead-to-a-record-200m-payroll/

CLEVELAND – Regardless of the outcome of these NBA Finals following a thrilling first four games, it appears the Cleveland Cavaliers are set up to be championship contenders for a long time.

Besides the obvious reason that LeBron James is back in Northeast Ohio presumably for the remainder of his career, the Cavaliers have a nucleus – including Kyrie Irving, Tristan Thompson and Timofey Mozgov *– that not only is ready to compete now but has the potential to grow stronger.
But to continue on this trajectory, the Cavaliers – specifically, owner Dan Gilbert – are going to have to spend big. How big? Perhaps more than any team in NBA history has ever spent. Cleveland could become home to the league’s first $200 million team.

Here’s a look at some of the tough decisions Gilbert and Co. will have to make to keep the core of the team together and, more importantly, to keep James happy:

David Blatt 'Absolutely' Plans To Continue With Cavs
JUN 18, 2015 9:47 PM

The working relationship between LeBron James and David Blatt figures to be a continuing story this offseason.

Blatt was hired before James returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers and they don't seem to have tremendous chemistry.

David Griffin has consistently defended Blatt in the media.

"LeBron himself said he thinks Coach has done a hell of a job," Griffin said Thursday. "So if you want to use his actual words, that's what the man said.

"From my perspective, I've said this all along, you don't go 33-3 (late in the season) with those guys (Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving) healthy and put together the team we had, have it be an offensive juggernaut, and then have to turn around and play without them, be a defensively stifling team, that literally chokes the life out of a 60-win (Atlanta Hawks) team and sweeps them in a playoff series and have your coach not do a hell of a job. (Blatt) did. I think our whole staff did. And we literally won an incredible number of games against very, very good teams playing radically different styles from each other. So from a purely basketball perspective, I'm not quite sure exactly what anybody is looking to have happen."

Blatt was asked at the beginning of the news conference if he planned to continue coaching the Cavs, and he responded, "Absolutely."

"You know, I think it's a special thing to have the opportunity to work with LeBron on a daily basis," Blatt said. "You know, people sometimes judge things on a game or on a period of time, and they forget that we're in there working together and striving to make the utmost of our team and of our situation day-to-day. And a bond develops over time that is a lot more than what meets the eye. It's been a great pleasure and a great honor to work with a player of his magnitude, and to work with someone who is so committed to helping this organization reach its goals, and is so committed to helping his teammates make it to the highest level. And I can just tell you it's been a fantastic experience, and I'm looking forward to continuing it."

Whoever chose to not use Timofey Mozgov whether it was the coach or lebron not feeding him fucked the cavs. The nba is trying so hard to get rid of big centers. He had to get most of his points off of offensive rebounds. I bet if they would have fed him more golden state would have had to change their rotation or start sending the guy checking him help.

As classless as you can get... Picture the Heat doing that shit after they won especially if they were to beat a team missing 2/5 of their starters..:smh:

Obviously Green don't give a fuck.. He was talkin shit bout Bron when he was in college

Ya man got tired of getting runover by them bows on them pic & rolls by Shump & Smith plus Dela outhustling them on 50/50s.
Draymond alwyas tries to get under skins even b4 he was in the league.
Now let's see if this will fuel a real rivalry when the squads meet & the Cavs have a more complete, competitive roster.

This is what you call good basketball. People get tired of these players hugging and being friends. What's classless is lebron sitting on national television and lying about being the best player in the world. He's teaching young kids how to lie.
