JR Smith on leadership: "Melo is more of an 'I'll show you,' as opposed to Bron is more of an 'I'll tell you, then I'll show you."
Now JR. is the savior lmaooo
The same 6th man of the year who shit the bed against the smeltrics
Yeah ok keep drinking that Kool aid lol
He got it backwards, if anything Irving and James are the savior while players like Thompson, Mozgov and JR are the complementary pices they were lacking. You can have a 100g car but if its missing the right spark plugs your not going anywhere with it..
RR that's a terrible analogy![]()

He has size and can play the 2 plus knock down a open shot plus he is suited to come off the bench and can be an instant spark plug, and Mozgov is the big man in the middle they needed...
JR is a role player with a definite role on the Cavs team.. Most good team has a few superstars surrounded by the right role players, this is why I stand by my original statement, that he and Mozgove are both missing pieces that were lacking before.
And if you think I am talking shit after the Cavs started winning, check my post I noted this while they were in the mist of a 6 game losing streak.
I can't say he's the missing piece but "HIS" style of play is what they wanted Waiters to do catch and shoot...
Waiters style somewhat reflected Kyrie's so I guess that's what made the trade easy.
The new additions have something to do with the flow and mood of the team, but seem like the two egg-heads are starting to let the coach do his job somewhat. It's no doubt dude can coach, but it about running his sets and moving the ball.
Yea defense might be questionable but tuning your coach out and doing whatever is one of the recipes for extended losing streaks.
Yeah it's over for Pooh
You did. And like you said, a lot of things may not show up in the stat line.
Flipping Waiters for those three pieces could prove huge.
They did move the ball pretty well tonight, but who knows if they are listening to the coach. It could be Lebron ordering things as he did during the last winning streak when he moved Kyrie.
Love still has to find his groove on offense, but he was aggressive.
Yeah it's over for Pooh
catch and shoot JR might be okay because then he doesnt have to overthink
we can only wait and see how it plays out
...and Waiters is playing well in OKC so it's worked out so far for everybody
Love looked great tonite, if he stays aggressive he will be ok...
Yeah, I doubt you see gifs of Waiters having to waive for the ball night in, night out. That shit started with the Cavs in preseason. I noticed skip passing going past Waiters. And it was Lebron doing it. Both Waiters and Love were having problems fitting in the offense.
Love is still here and has to deal with it. He has to stay aggressive and demand the ball in spots where he is effective. Love has been too passive and has obviously sacrificed the most between himself and Kyrie. If your 'honorary' PG has a 'get his' mentality, you damn well better stop playing the nice guy.
I can't wait to see what Shump brings to the team.
Waiters shot selection this season wasnt good...I dont see why he had issues with spot shooting....he could have feasted in an off ball role but I am not sure he was satisfied with that
Its not over for him, even though he may not play to the level that he did at the past, he is still a good player more like Vince Carter after the injury than Greg Olden.

Even with the spot shooting, they weren't finding him when he was open. The team has been very inconsistent moving the ball on offense. Waiters and Love both suffered because of poor ball movement and not getting the ball when and where they needed to get the ball.
If Irving adapted to become a true PG, I doubt Waiters even ends up traded.
Why play off ball when he can create his own shot
He want no parts of off ball role
Bulls-Cavaliers Preview
STATS LLC
The Chicago Bulls' gauntlet of an upcoming schedule began with a loss and doesn't look to ease up anytime soon.
That includes a matchup with the resurgent Cleveland Cavaliers.
Chicago tries to avoid its fourth loss in five games Monday night when it faces the Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena.
The Bulls (27-15) fell victim to red-hot Atlanta on Saturday, falling 107-99 at home despite 23 points and 10 assists from Derrick Rose.
The road from there only gets more challenging with Chicago's upcoming slate featuring contests against reigning champion San Antonio, 28-win Dallas and NBA-leading Golden State.
A fully functional roster would certainly help matters for the Bulls, who have lost five of seven. Rose has averaged 25.5 points and 8.0 assists over his last four games, but Jimmy Butler has topped the 20-point mark just once since Jan. 7 and Joakim Noah remains sidelined with an ankle injury.
"If I had the answer, I swear I wish I could tell you," Rose told Chicago's official site. "Once again, communication, trusting, and just the effort. It's frustrating, very frustrating. We've got to get it together if we want to go far.
"We definitely got to learn how to get stops. We're going to score enough points to win games, but our defense isn't up to par."
The Bulls ranked in the upper half of the NBA with 98.8 points allowed per game through the season's first 35 contests. In the last seven, however, Chicago has surrendered 103.1 points on a league-worst 49.6 field goal percentage.
Cleveland (21-20) meets Chicago at an opportune time considering the Cavaliers' upward trend. After falling below .500 with a six-game losing streak, they made the most of a two-game stint in Los Angeles, beating the Lakers and Clippers on consecutive nights. The Cavaliers shot better than 46 percent in each win -- something they had not accomplished since Dec. 23.
LeBron James and Kyrie Irving combined for 69 points in Friday's 126-121 win over the Clippers, leading Cleveland to its highest offensive output since Nov. 15.
"Communication between us and the coaches is getting a lot better," Irving said. "Just being out there and the coaches calling plays and me and LeBron seeing something out there and calling plays, and then we just got to go execute."
James has averaged 33.7 points on 52.3 percent shooting and 7.7 rebounds since returning from injury on Jan. 13. He experienced a similar level of success in Cleveland's previous game with the Bulls this season, scoring 36 points in the Cavaliers' 114-108 overtime road win on Oct. 31.
Chicago, however, has given James more trouble than most any other NBA team, defeating the four-time MVP in eight of their last 14 regular season meetings.
"They've put in a system over the years," James said of Chicago. "We have our system in place, but we've added a few new guys. We've had some injuries as well. We're starting to pick it up and guys are starting to get healthy, so I'm looking forward to seeing what we can become."
Kevin Love expects to return for Cleveland after he missed Friday's contest with back spasms. Tristan Thompson filled in nicely for Love, scoring a season-high 24 points on 10 of 12 from the field with 12 rebounds in a rare start for the fourth-year forward.
The Bulls have won seven of eight in Cleveland.
They did move the ball pretty well tonight, but who knows if they are listening to the coach. It could be Lebron ordering things as he did during the last winning streak when he moved Kyrie.
Because they had Lebron and Kyrie and maybe even Dellevodova to handle core ball handling
In fact even Lebron should be playing off ball more....the issue is that he really has better passing skills than most point guards
Having the ability to create off the dribble isnt the same as whether it should have been Dion's primary function...
He had the chance to feast on second units....
Anyway its far too early to determine whether the trade is any good long term
Well one thing I doubt the Cavs are focusing in long term...
I forgot to comment on that part when I made the post, but it's clear as day these two fuckers along with Tyrone Lue is a huge part of the chemistry problem. It not a problem like the Clippers have(players don't like each other), just some players flexing their muscles to show they're bigger than the coach, which could be the team downfall. Honestly if they keep that up I hope they don't win shit and never win shit. You got a fresh knowledgeable coach that y'all could accomplish great things with but y'all tripping fuck that.
Um a coach has to prove himself just like everybody else
