@@@Official Cavs thread 2014-2015@@@

A lot of stuff some of you guys, really isn't making any sense... But I bet if you guys were to list the teams you root for, the truth would come spilling out..

Road Rage... your NBA analysis is pretty spot on... so I like your posts. I am just clowning as I did when LeBron jumped ship to Miami years ago because I, and many others, knew you would switch to becoming a Heat fan. It's okay to be a LeBron fan. I myself am a Kobe fan first... Lakers fan second. After that I am just an overall NBA fan.

Yep, Rage been dropping science since August on this... One of the stupidest things I've heard is the geniuses who claim your a bandwagon fan just because you comment on another teams thread, and aren't always saying stupid shit but can speak objectively about another team be it positive or negative. Just down right stupid really, a lot of idiots post here frankly...

All of us have a favorite team, and most of us have favorite players, but first and foremost most of us are basketball fans...

Waiters is good right where he is, once the others figure out what the fuck is going on he'll be just fine

James was asked if he was concerned about the chemistry of the team and James quickly nipped it in the bud. "I won't allow individuals to be selfish," James said after the team's shootaround in response to the question. "If I'm on the team, you automatically have to be unselfish so I'm not worried about it." Cleveland Plain Dealer -

Cavaliers-Trail Blazers Preview
STATS LLC

LeBron James bounced back in a big way following a letdown in his return to Cleveland.

With a penchant for monster performances against the Portland Trail Blazers, James could be set for another huge game Tuesday night.

The Cavaliers beat Chicago 114-108 in overtime to open a four-game trip Friday after losing 95-90 against the Knicks a night earlier. James had 36 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals after finishing with 17 points and eight turnovers Thursday in his first game with Cleveland since 2010.

James scored the Cavaliers' first eight points in the extra period.

"It was an opportunity to go out and redeem ourselves and I was happy with the outcome," he said.

Portland has won six of seven meetings, but the Cavaliers had taken 11 of 13 prior to James' departure. James has averaged 29.4 points against the Trail Blazers -- tied for his third-highest mark versus one team -- on 52.9 percent shooting with 9.4 rebounds per game. He has scored 34 or more in five of his last six at Portland.

Kevin Love, who has 35 points and 30 rebounds this season, is averaging 26.0 points over his last 10 matchups.

The Cavaliers hope Tristan Thompson can continue to be a spark after he grabbed 12 offensive rebounds and scored 16 against the Bulls. Thompson had been a non-factor against the Knicks with two rebounds and six points over 20 minutes before becoming the second Cleveland player in the last eight seasons with 12 offensive boards.

His performance helped the Cavaliers claim a 52-42 rebounding advantage.

"It's a true testament to how hard Tristan works," said Kyrie Irving, who scored 23 points and has averaged 24.5 over four meetings with Portland. "That's something that he gives us. He gives us energy, and that's what we want him to do every single night. I know he's capable of doing it. For us, it just adds another dimension for our team to get more possessions."

The Trail Blazers are in danger of losing three of their first four for the first time since 2008-09 after Sunday's 95-90 home defeat against Golden State. LaMarcus Aldridge had 26 points and 13 rebounds but Portland, which shot 37.2 percent from 3-point range last season to rank 10th in the NBA, fell to 16 for 53 from deep in two losses.

Damian Lillard is off to a slow start, averaging 13.7 points on 11-for-41 shooting after scoring 20.7 points per game and shooting 42.4 percent last season. Lillard, who shot 39.4 percent from beyond the arc to earn his first All-Star selection, is 7 for 22 from long distance.

Lillard has been particularly bad in the first half, going 3 for 18 from the field.

"I think it's just one of those stretches you have to go through, and that you can grow from," he said.

Lillard has averaged 25.3 points while hitting 18 of 34 3-point attempts in four meetings with Cleveland.

The Cavaliers, who never started 2-0 on the road during James' first tenure, are looking to do so for the first time since 2000-01.

Hope Kyrie decides to run Blatt's offense tonight.
I must say this the most surprising thing so far, the offensive flow haven't been crisp.

I know everybody is getting settled in, but after 7 preseason games things should look way better than that.

Ummm your right Coach u didn't play the core nightly....

Cavs got the three ball working early

Love, Lebron and Irving all with early makes from deep

Fucking around with these two teams the might shot 50 3's

POR - Damian Lillard makes 26-foot three point jumper (Robin Lopez assists) 19-19
6:39 CLE - Kevin Love makes 25-foot three point jumper (Kyrie Irving assists) 19-16

This a tough lineup to defend

Irving
Marion
James
Love
Varejao (he just sub Thompson in)

Still tough

Cavs refuse to run Blatt's offense...Thompson is shooting like he thinks he is Karl Malone...

It's turning into a clown show.....

The east has got to be awfully weak if the Cavs are supposed to be one of the top teams from the conference. They might not make it out the 1st round of the playoffs. They are going to struggle on defense all year long. Kevin love looks like a 1 way player. With the roster that they have as is now they have no chance to win the title this year.

Didn't watch the game but looking at the box score I see Mathews and Lillard had a combined 48 points.

Cavs defense against guards is going to be big issue all year. Lebron had great guard defenders in Miami with Wade, Cole & Chalmers but this is not the case in Cleveland. Irving, Waiters and that cac they have at guard won't cut it on defense :smh:

Lebron been playing like shit. He's shooting 42 percent from the field.

Lebron needs to stop playing so passive and score. He needs to drop about 30 a night.

What is clear so far is that the Cavs big 3 is no where as near athletic as the heats big 3.

LeBron owes his career to playing in the East which has been weak for as long as he has played in it.

One thing i learned from LeBron being on the heat is that he will never be that guy.
He's passive.
Sure he will occasionally have that lights out game but he aint got the scorer mentality.

That nigga better put that weight back on....I dont' know what the fuck he's done but he needs to re-do whatever the fuck he did.

Kevin Love done brought his losing ways to Lebron and shit. Should've left that cac in Minnie. And I know people gonna say oh he's playing well. He's a loser and he's contagious.

There's nothing wrong with that either. I've heard people say that about other players. Its who they are. They are unselfish. And that unselfishness works. His teammates just gotta start hitting their shots. I see why Bron wants vets around him. He's not cut out for playing with young cats who are still learning the game. They're unreliable.

Remember in miami he played close to the rim.
High percentage shots.
Thats why the heat had him bulk up.
He lost weight probably because he wants to be a perimeter guy.
He didn't like the paint.

Its not wrong but he has the talent to be that guy.
Its like everybody see's it but him idk
Mother fucker passing up shots for UD and shit

Different system and he's playing with a PG that needs to have the rock. It's going to take them some time to figure it out.

I told people about Love. They got caught up in those stats on a bum ass squad.

They'll get the offense figured out but I told Gene and everyone else.. How are they going to get stops on the perimeter?

Well the whole thing was they just gonna outscore everybody. Cats not scoring efficiently yet.

This ain't Bosh, Wade and Bron coming together. All them vets bringing all their games together. Its gonna take far more time than that took. That's why I laughed when people put them cats in the Finals. It may happen but its going to take time and development of chemistry.

I never understood for the life of me how do you get rid of Bennett and Wiggins for Love. Just made no sense to me and still doesn't. But I think it was all Bron. It has to be. Bron wasn't trying to put up with that youth. A whole team full of 20 year olds still developing. Bron wants that supporting cast that can win now. Wouldn't shock me at all if we see Kyrie gone by the Trade Deadline or next year.

Ain't nothing worse than a big ass nigga wanting to be on the perimeter. That shit makes my blood boil.

But at the same time....if you want to prolong your career...you gotta learn how to do damage on the outside. I get it.

That's all it is. Lebron is not scared of the paint. He'll likely have a much longer career as a SF as opposed to being a PF. Carrying that extra weight is not good on your knees. All the extra physical contact on the defensive end is taxing too.

Yeah....I get it too. And the main issue is playing PF on the defensive end. His game won't change much on the offensive end.

Cavs will be fine!! Only 3 games in folks - and trust I don't give a shit about Bron or the Cavs.. However, if they expect to just outscore everyone in order to win - good luck with that.
