@@@Official Cavs thread 2014-2015@@@

I was going to ask why he's the starting SG. Is he at least getting it done on the defensive end?

he's ok but waiters was the offense for the second unit and not Delly is back that really helped Dion. Delly handles the pg duties which allows Dion to do him.

The refs were the real mvp tonight.

What play you have in question? Because the biggest blown call was during the fast break right after half time when the Raptor defender ran right into LeBron and nothing was called, then the next one when Thompson was bumped in mid air during a ally oop play again nothing was called...
Do you have any specifics or are you just venting?

Hey stats are often overated, just as long as the right people are in the game during the right times, thats whats most important... Trust me, I used to get pissed off when coach Spo used to act like he was afraid to use the talent on the Heat team... With coach Blatt he seems to have a better niche of getting the right people in the game during the right moments..

Lets start here, raps in the penalty with 7-8 mins left in the fourth Quarter.

Cleveland had not even one team foul, keep in mind raps was up by 8,so they def was not the overly aggressive one on defense.

raps ft in the fourth 0-cleveland 11

was cleveland playing defense with feathers for hands.

Ok but you do know that teams that are aggressive tend to get more free throw attempts... Vs the Cavs many teams choose to foul every time they go aggressive to the hole, and make them earn it on the foul stripe as opposed to giving them the open layup..
Whats fucked up is when the refs refuse to call that shit..
Again tell me one particular play you felt the raptors go jaded on...

What you said made little sense, you just ignored all the numbers..
11-0 on free throws.
in the penalty for almost eight mins of the fouth quarter.
cleveland zero team fouls at that point.

this reminds me of the time lebron played 9 quarters without picking up a foul.

thats over two games..

as for one particular play fields tipped the ball away from james at half court james clearly pushed him, ball outta bounds cleveland ball.
lou williams drove to the basket they called travel,if hey has called foul i wouldn't be shocked but travel, nope.

honestly we dont need to go back and forth with particular plays,we can just look at the fouth quarter stats and it tells the story.

well all this might be true but when one team drives and the other jack up shots you should expect this. My dude you know we've gonna over these shits before.

It makes no sense to you, cause you don't know no better....
In reality, the refs blew calls form both sides, like I said the Thompson shove and the LeBron play right after half time.. As far as the travel call, the foul should have been called, but the travel actually too away a team foul...
So if your threw venting, cool, if not get drunk and vent to your wife, or someone who actually gives a fuck..

We went from conversation to you going adhominem, cursing and all ..yet am drunk.

this is why i didnt want to go down that road of mentioning specific plays.

however you cant deny the numbers i put out there.

its a superstar league we all know that.

but the facts remain.

7-8 mins left in game already in penalty
cleveland no team fouls, raps leading by 8,Cleveland more aggressive on defense,i watched the game.

0-11 on free throw disparity.

There was a playoff game last year when the Heat didn't go to the free throws that often vs the Pacers, you know the reason why? Because they were settling for the outside shot, instead of being aggressive, last night game vs the Raptors just wasn't one of those games...
LeBron, Irving, Thompson and Love are very aggressive players towards the hole and will always attack hard and when they do they will pick up their share of fouls..
Its good to see the Cavs realizing that teams cant really stop them from driving to the hoop and that even when they don't call the fouls they shouldn't stop attacking, in the past they stopped and tried to get back in the game playing hero ball often by shooting three's..While last night they took their time, stuck with the game and never stopped attacking..
If they continue playing like this, get used to them going to the stripe often, but hey it beats giving up easy buckets in the paint..

Dellavedova Reminds LeBron Of Norris Cole

Matthew Dellavedova made a big impact for the Cleveland Cavaliers in their 105-101 win over the Toronto Raptors.

This marked Dellavedova's second game back from injury, but the first in which he played significant minutes.

"We've been waiting for Matty to come back," David Blatt admitted. "He's a big part of what we do. He gives us a steady hand off the bench. He gives us great energy and activity on the defensive end and he plays simple and smart on the offensive end. Given that this was only his second game back and he's been out for more than four weeks, his performance was just outstanding against very, very high-level NBA guards."

Dellavedova's defense helped the Cavaliers' rally.

"He's just scrappy, man," James said. "Delly is a guy that's always been counted out. Saying he can't make it, he can't do this, he can't shoot enough, not fast enough, not tall enough. One thing about it: Heart and effort will take a way a lot of the things that you cannot do. I'll take a guy like that any day on my team."

James believes Dellavedova reminds him of a former teammate that helped the Heat win two titles.

"I had Norris Cole on my team in Miami," James said. "He was the same type of guy. We called him the pit bull. You just put him out there on anybody and he's always going to be successful and know you can never discredit how he goes about the game and how hard he plays. You put him out there for 20 seconds and it will be the hardest 20 seconds he ever played, like he'll never play again... Everything they do won't show up in the box score but teammates and people that know the game know he made an impact."

I thought lebron was soft but Durant takes the title as the softest player in the nba. Game after game he sits around like a role player until Westbrook allows him to shoot. Westbrook goes out of his way to make sure he takes the most shots every game and won't even allow Durant to dribble the ball down the floor.

ummm westbrook is the point guard….point guards normally brings the ball down court, while the the other players set up.

KD don't need to bring it up, the ninja should be on the block murdering kats(same way i feel about lebron,Melo)

So how good were they last year when westbrook was hurt and durant was basically playing point guard? Ibaka was actually a scorer bc Durant kept giving him the ball in the right spots. How can a pg take more shots than every other player on the team every game? Over half the game is over and Durant took 5 shots. I said Durant needs to train with kobe this off season so he can get a spine and I still stand by that. After last year in the playoffs at the end of the game instead of taking that final shot he would pass it to westbrook and let him take it while he went and hid in the corner. I was like :smh:

man i got the volume down on this game….last time i looked up the cavs were down damn near 20…now its a 3 point game….the pgs are going at it

A very well played game by the Cavs, even in this loss I see great growth and fight.. A couple of bounces their way and the game could have been a lot closer..

Cavs guards spend night in hospital
Updated: December 13, 2014, 2:05 PM ET
Associated Press
CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers guards Dion Waiters and Matthew Dellavedova are expected to be released from a New Orleans hospital after becoming sick Friday night.

The Cavs said Waiters and Dellavedova will return to Ohio on Saturday after a night at the Ochsner Medical Center. Waiters played 10 minutes in the first half against the Pelicans before being taken from the arena because of abdominal pain. Tests were negative.

The team said Dellavedova had stomach issues following the game and was admitted to the hospital. The Cavs did not disclose Dellavedova's illness and that he didn't travel until hours after the team had already returned to Cleveland.

Dellavedova played 24 minutes but did not score in the 119-114 loss. He recently returned after missing 15 games with a sprained left knee.

Hawks-Cavaliers Preview
STATS LLC

Even with one of the best records in the Eastern Conference, the Atlanta Hawks still have plenty of doubters.

Given a marquee chance to silence them heading into Christmas, they're off to a good start.

After knocking off the Central Division's top team, the Hawks begin a demanding three-game road trip Wednesday night looking to avenge an ugly loss to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Atlanta's hot start came as a surprise to many, especially considering the team's offseason drama. After sneaking into the playoffs with their worst record since 2007-08, the Hawks trudged through a tumultuous summer that saw owner Bruce Levenson forced to sell his share of the team and general manager Danny Ferry take an indefinite leave of absence, both due to racially charged comments.

Atlanta (17-7) responded with its best start since 2009-10.

"Are we surprised?" Paul Millsap said. "No. We felt like we had a pretty good team last year, but we weren't healthy the whole year. We felt like if we were healthy, we could really do something special."

Much of their success has been due to some excellent ball movement. The Hawks have 20 or more assists in all but two games, and have assisted on a league-best 67.4 percent of their field goals.

Jeff Teague had seven of his team's 26 assists Monday in a 93-86 win over Chicago, Atlanta's first victory against a team currently over .500 since it topped Washington on Nov. 25.

"Each night we want to have the same expectations, the same standards, no matter who we're playing," coach Mike Budenholzer said. "But it's always good to be tested by some of the teams we're going to be playing now."

The Hawks will visit Houston on Saturday and Dallas on Monday before returning home to play the Clippers on Tuesday, but first is a second crack at the Cavaliers.

Atlanta was no match for Cleveland on Nov. 15 at Quicken Loans Arena. The Cavs (14-9) put up 41 in the first quarter -- hitting their first nine 3-pointers -- and led 71-43 at halftime while rolling to a 127-94 win behind 32 points from James in just 29 minutes.

"We obviously shot the ball great from the 3-point line, especially in that first quarter," Kevin Love said Tuesday. "But they have a lot of guys that can really play, the have a great team and they're playing really well right now, so we need to continue to look at film and know we're going to get their best shot here at home."

Teague had five points and four turnovers in the first meeting.

"Nobody likes losing and not in that fashion, in blowout fashion, so we've got to use it as motivation," Teague said after that loss.

Cleveland lost two straight before opening a five-game homestand Monday against Charlotte in fine fashion. The Cavaliers scored the game's first 21 points en route to a 97-88 win, getting 27 points and 13 assists from James and 22 points and 18 rebounds from Love.

"It feels good to get in a rhythm early, play inside and out," said Love, who's averaging 10.9 points and shooting 60.4 percent in the first quarter over his last nine games. "Hopefully that's something that will continue. We play off of that. We get stops on the defensive end and we push that ball.

"The guys haven't quite hit their stride yet, so our best basketball is ahead of us."

Atlanta should have at least a slightly better chance to defend James in this one with DeMarre Carroll, who missed the first meeting with a strained groin, now healthy.

Cleveland's 3-point shooting, though, should get a boost as well. Mike Miller, who's missed the past six games with a concussion, is expected to return.

Cavaliers Interested In Wesley Matthews
Dec 17, 2014 1:06 AM EST

The Cleveland Cavaliers have expressed interest in Wesley Matthews but have been rejected in their quest to land him from the Portland Trail Blazers, according to sources.

The Blazers have dismissed all overtures for Matthews and hope to re-sign him as a free agent in the offseason.

Portland is 19-6 so far this season.
