@@@Official Cavs thread 2014-2015@@@

No it isnt

The issue with the Cavs has been effort....when they have shown effort they have been good...when they play half assed they get worked over like a conga drum

Part of effort is playing team ball instead of being selfing and trying to play hero ball..
Teams got smart and dared the Cavs to beat them with Thompson and Andy, and the Cavs were dumb asses for driving into the teeth of the defense instead of working wha they were giving them..
Finally they adjusted and started winning, I'm sure teams are going to adjust to the Cavs adjustments, part of growing as a team is being able to adjust on the fly. The Cavs may not be there, as of now, but its interesting watching this team grow..
But your right about the defense also, its funny how smart shots often leads to more energy on defense..

Lmaooo

RR has no shame
Bruh you want it one way, but it isn't!

Man, that shit looked bad. This win streak did save his job, because if this were 1-5......blatt would be gone....

No doubt, but it's his first year and the season is long. In the east you have more rope than the west so a bad nov-dec doesn't destroy your season. Just like the logic some use with RG3, too early to throw Dude out, unless LeBron pushed for it. Just glad to see this turn around for them is all. And by the way things are going in Miami it looks like LeBron made the right choice, shit is looking bad down there right now... :hmm:

But Kyrie still misses on assist opportunities. Think about how quick he breaks the defense down.

Let me stop being greedy...one problem at a time...

He still needs to learn not to question Blatt in the open like he did yesterday against the Knicks.

True, but they are a work in progress still. With a player as dynamic as him, your going to have those issue, but just like in Miami LeBrons skill set covers a lot of holes. Must be a great feeling being able to see lesson move him to point. I would bitch if Kyrie was jacking 22 plus shots a game and missing assist chances, but he's not so it's less of an issue.... Right now anyway...

Miami got 3 chips and 4 straight conference chips

Ain't no pressure on Miami to win nothing this year. Shouldn't you be concerned about Philly at least winning 10 games this year cause by the looks of it they might go 1-81 smh

Lebron is sitting front court at the Knicks game. I've never seen a active player ever do that

Rumor has it that the Cavs want Tayshaun Prince since he's out of the main rotation of the Griz rotation.)

The Cavs don't need wings. They need a backup point, shot blocker and another shooter. Bleacher Report had a article saying they may be interested in Norris Cole and Chris Anderson. It's time to move Waiters, he's not going to give them what they need right now.

Well the problem is they don't know what they need...because waiters can run the point.
Shit they just figured out what to do with Lebron and Irving. Still haven't completely addressed Kevin Love post touches.

Birdman is a nice energy guy, but not a real rim protector

Why not play Haywood more???

How about let Dion operate more as a point guard, fuck we all know he can do this...

Blatt was never going anywhere.

Throwing around coaches is always the move of dumb front offices. They searched long and hard and decided on Blatt who has a long pedigree of winning.

Like I said.....the problem was not the coaching..it was effort.

Its a protest being staged right outside the Barclay's a hour before tip off.. They trying shut it down

Man that dude pissed me off so much for a three games stretch that I didn't worry about watching them. Normally I would look at the schedule do things on certain days so I could watch the games. After those shitty ass effort games, I knew I need to take a break. I kinda had to check myself, what the fuck am I getting bend up outta shape behind these fuckers for...

But anybody that knows me, effort is huge for me, when it comes to basketball

The Cavs are start buy into the team ball concept , instead of trying to force the issue by everyone going for theirs, right now they are allowing the game to come to them. They shouldn't worry about individual stats, because some nights it may call for LeBron to score big, others Love or Irving, tonight was Waiters turn.
This is how the game should be played..

True....

It's know it may sound crazy to some, but they really, really missed the Ausie.....I been a fan of his since last year....

Raptors-Cavaliers Preview
STATS LLC

The Toronto Raptors quickly returned to their high-scoring ways one game after being shut down by the Cavaliers, though a visit to Cleveland could again knock them off course.

The Raptors look to avoid their second loss to the Cavs in five days Tuesday night, while Cleveland will try to win eight straight for the first time in nearly five years.

Toronto (16-5) continues to put up points at a high rate even though second-leading scorer DeMar DeRozan has missed the past six games due to a torn left abductor tendon.

The Eastern Conference-leading Raptors are averaging 113.1 points over their last 10 contests -- one of the league's best marks since Nov. 21 -- following Monday's 112-107 overtime home win over Denver.

Lou Williams had 26 points, while Patrick Patterson added 19 and went 5 of 7 from 3-point range, including a tying 3 with 28 seconds left.

Toronto shot 50.6 percent despite making only 9 of 33 from long range.

"That's what I want to do, that's what I want to be known for, my energy and my 3-point shooting," said Patterson, who is 11 for 20 from beyond the arc in his last four.

Kyle Lowry added 13 points to go with a season high-tying 13 assists. He's been a catalyst since DeRozan went down, averaging 26.0 points and 9.6 assists in his last five games to earn Eastern player of the week honors.

"For me, it was just getting guys involved and drawing attention to me, and making plays for everyone else," Lowry said.

Toronto may find it difficult to sustain the offense against the Cavs (12-7), who limited the Raptors to a season-low point total on just 40.7 percent shooting en route to a 105-91 road win Friday. Amir Johnson had a season-high 27 points and Lowry had 22, but Patterson and Williams combined for only 11.

Since allowing 102.7 points and a 47.7 field-goal percentage during a 5-7 start, Cleveland has given up 90.3 on 42.6 percent during the win streak following a 110-88 victory at Brooklyn on Monday in the finale of a three-game trip.

"For the most part, for us as a team, I loved our approach, I loved our mindset," LeBron James said when asked of the swing. "We had a bunker mentality coming into this road trip -- understanding how important it was -- and we took care of business."

Dion Waiters led the way with 26 points, Kevin Love had 19 points and 14 rebounds, and James scored 18 to go with seven assists as the Cavs extended their longest win streak since an eight-game run in March 2010.

The Raptors will have to contain Tristan Thompson after he had 14 points and 12 rebounds against Brooklyn and season highs of 21 and 14 on Friday -- including nine on the offensive glass.

Cleveland has held a 103-73 rebounding advantage in its last two games and owned a 46-34 edge in the first home meeting with Toronto on Nov. 22. Williams, however, had a career-high 36 points and Lowry had 23 in the Raptors' 110-93 victory.

"They're starting to pick it up," Johnson said. "They're definitely starting to play better and move the ball better."

Kyrie Irving will be looking to bounce back after finishing with a season-low seven points on 2-of-10 shooting against Brooklyn. He's totaled 52 while hitting 19 of 32 from the field in his last two home games.

The Cavaliers have dropped six of eight home meetings with the Raptors.

Once they figured out they needed to play some D after the half, they transformed into a great looking team. Keep it going Cavs!

Playing defense in the NBA is a team effort not that one on one shit folks play on the playground, the key is good communication and learning your teammates tendencies, its good to see this team finnally get it, almost like a light bulb turned on in their heads..
To be honest, I actually thought it would take until after the all star game to see how good this team is, but right now it seem like this team is ahead of the schedule and that every game now they are growing more and more starting to look like one of the best teams in the NBA...
