Official BGOL Crypto Currency Thread ★★★★★

How did you hear about Ubiq? I see they only have 2 coins

I've been hearing it mentioned hear and there...I frequent this thread...our slack...the wagerr slack...bitcointalk and coinmarketcap @ least 10 fucking times a day :scream: it's a coin that I always found myself looking @ ...just read y-day that ledger nano s/blue will be adding support for it...so that got my attention too...only 2 coins might use the platform now but that could change...if I can pick up 1000 then that'd be cool...I honestly like bitshares and nxt more but the circulating supplies are too high...those are coins were I'd need @ least 100k to start seeing real returns

Some of us want Chinese versions of hot coins. Didn't take long for them to get on the EOS bandwagon after Chinese exchanges accounted for most of the volume. They will be having an IOC for the "Chinese EOS". (right click and translate with Google Chrome)

https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/slGJJYZAvaYcHzaqLUV9DA

The project will support the NEO virtual machine and will also accept NEO for the IOS(along with ETH and BTC). So the 'Chinese Ethereum' is working with the 'Chinese EOS.' ICO starts the 28th.

you can wait til it hit tidex which is more of a "conventional" exchange...it should be up today/tomorrow...don't feel compelled to rush

Ok but what if I wanted to buy right now.

Are there any drawbacks to doing so?

And if there are no drawbacks where and how would I do it?

I'd like to get in as low as possible.

it's @ 7 cents now...but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes back to 5 cents by the weekend...that's not a guarantee tho just a prediction based on valid observations others in this thread have made...prices typically seem high mon-fri...and low sat. and sun. ...again waves dex is the only place to buy it now...and tidex soon...

https://wavesplatform.com/downloads.html

https://tidex.com/

I can't urge it enough...please do not feel rushed to buy until you understand what to do/feel comfortable doing it...the price is not going to explode anytime soon...it might go up a little but it will def come back down...also make sure security/protection is tight on your PC if you're using it for anything

Ok I have 5 figures in Bitcoin on Poloniex.

What should I do with it considering the upcoming Bitcoin fork.
i would suggest using it to buy something elese or cashing it out. I imagine it will take a hard dip regardless of what happens so you can probably rebuy alot more after the dust settles. I'm cashing mine out for the time being.

Anyway to get around the $2000 per day withdrawal limit at Poloniex? Verification has taken well over a month. I sent them a message trying to find out what is going on a few days ago but no response yet.

if you don't want to wait, you can do the daily withdraw. today is the 5th between now and the end of the month, you could get a good chunk, if not all out.

But if the Bitcoin fork happens prior to the full withdrawal I'm fucked right?
maybe maybe not. Several scenarios have been suggested including no problems and maybe even a postponement of the fork attempt. Others have suggested offline wallets, but for me I am worried about software glitches until everything is worked out.

Like I said before, you can buy some other options like Etherum which a lot of people think will equal or over take bitcoin at some point.

You can also convert your bitcoin to USDT (Tether) leave it on the exchanges and buy bitcoin back when or if it dives

I was thinking about doing this for all my alt coins on the exchange because these coins follow BTC, so when Bitcoin drops , they will all plummet. Do you think its smart to convert all the Alts into USDT, or just BTC before the split?

thanks man but I just got lucky parking my $$$ in XRP for 6 months...I've only recently gotten a better understanding of this shit and started hustling and setting up my shit for the long run this past month...if I had this little bit of knowledge back in jan./feb. or made the observations I'm making now back then :itsawrap: work was in the way tho and I couldn't pay attention to this shit like I can now

And put them where???
The only near consensus recommendation I've seen people suggest is put your BTCs in an offline wallet like the Nano Ledger S. That's why I ordered mine last month in time for it to get here before 28 July.

My personal opinion, I'm not overly concerned about it. I think this shit will come off like Y2k in December 1999. lol

I haven't but it has become a 2nd job.
I'll regret not getting serious about it from the beginning. If I jumped in then judging by when i started taking this seriously, I would've been good money round feb which would've probably landed me maybe 6 or 7 of the coins that blew up in may and id' be done trading.

Even if you do put your Bitcoins in an offline wallet they are still Bitcoins. So if the price of Bitcoins drop then so does value of the Bitcoins in your offline wallet right?

the point isn't to protect yourself from a price drop...but to preserve the "coin"...there was an article that explained it better when we were initially concerned about this...I'll look for it

Yes. You don't automatically lock in your price from which you taken the coins off the exchanges.

http://www.coindesk.com/ethereum-cl...led-against-digital-currency-exchange-kraken/

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against cryptocurrency exchange startup Kraken over issues stemming from its management of a May flash crash.

Less than two months later, five customers of the exchange are alleging negligence, breach of contract and unjust enrichment, arguing that Kraken should have suspended trading amidst a denial-of-service (DDoS) attack that impacted its operations.

Newly filed court documents name five plaintiffs, including one in the US, two in Israel and two others based in the UK, while Payward Inc, which does business as Kraken, is named as the sole defendant. Between the five customers, a total of 3,414.078 ETH – an amount worth roughly $329,000 at a price of $96.32 – was liquidated.

That amount is equal to about $911,000 at press time.

1. Get it off poloniex. Raise your daily limit on poloniex for transfers
2. Diversify to ETH, LTC and Dash and Ripple.

Only way to raise daily limits for transfers on Poloniex is to get a better level of being "verified" right?

Right now I'm verified at the $2000 per day level. I need more than that but they are taking forever. I had to have been waiting for over a month for them to verify me to the next level. :smh:
