Official BGOL Crypto Currency Thread ★★★★★

Coinbase kept giving me an error last night saying that my billing address was incorrect (for 2 different cc's that I tried to register). After "too many attempts" it told me I had to wait and try again in 24 hrs :smh: ..

Tried to register for Kraken but Im in NY :smh:

Yeah im having issues with Coinbase as well. What are the alternatives?

Not to distract from the ultimate goal but are there any other coins that could potentially blow up soon? I'm shouldn't be looking in the past but I'm still salty I missed out on Pascal and ETH when they blew up

Bitcoin about to touch $1800 :eek2:

I invest in GBTC back in Aug, bought in when it was $100 per share, right now its at $223.

I've been holding since then hoping for such a spike, but wondering what I should do now. Its bound to go back down eventually right? Whats the smart way to handle this and take advantage of the bump?

THIS IS EXACTLY WHY THIS THREAD IS CRUCIAL WITH GAINING UNDERSTANDING. MUCH APPRECIATED BROTHERS.

It is outstanding to have some people to brainstorm with and understand the nature of the market. I agree with legal money in that you have to hedge appropriately to prevent catastrophic financial loss. its why I advocate a balanced portfolio.
I keep at 2 BTC in reserve at all times. as well as my altcoins bc no matter who goes up, I still make money.
I'm still hunting for the next xrp. but after starting a new job next week, my time will be limited. rest assured I will check the thread daily though. so I'm trusting the board to keep me posted. hell the job is saying they will send me to Afghanistan for a year bc I'm the FNG. I told them to go right ahead.....on the side, I could use the extra money to dump into altcoins like spaceage and legalmoney.

KEEP WORKING ON AN REASONABLE EXIT STRATEGY. If you find one that involves paying 10% or less, POST IT!

I don't mind paying my fair share of taxes but I said effing fair not effing 20-30%.....esp to a mofo that didn't do nothing to help. My last name aint Hoe.

lol belated congrats on the new job.

yea uncle sam gonna have to be reasonable..

its getting easier and easier to stash money with

crypto coins..

I plan on payin a fair share, but if they get stupid...

then its time to get smart...

Does this mean that our XRP are in a safer place than being on Polo? What are your opinions on using BITSTAMP?
Yes, Bitstamp is the only exchange I use, and Gatehub is ran by Ripple so its a good place to store ripple. They get all your info incase there is ever a issue they can replace your ripple.

So do you recommend keeping my Ripple in Gatehub (where its currently stored) or get a desktop wallet and store it there?

Honestly I would rather keep it in Gatehub vs Rippex if I had to choose, But to each his own..... One benefit to Rippex is the software is opensource and you get the private keys to the wallet however sometimes I dont even trust myself to keep up with that type of info, So the only other option is Gatehub, They guarentee if there is ever a failure your ripple will be restore to your account and since it is ran by the ripple team themselves I opt to believe that. Ripple is different from bitcoin where the system can be reset in case of failure.

good to know ill be checking that out....also ijust came from POLONIEX...people over there are bailing out like roaches with the lights on...poloniex is now hemorrhaging customers. other exchanges will have a good day today. I guess that will motivate polo to get their stuff fixed asap when their board sees how many much money is leaving.

Maybe this is the motivation Poloniex needed. They need to get on top of their shit

What are the alternatives to Coinbase to buy XRP?
What are the pros/cons of the alternatives?

Coinbase was just my way to circumvent the wait time for verification. This was in the infancy stages of this entire thing a work around. All of the other places were acting stupid with wait times and coinbase was instant.
At this point you don't need coinbase unless you're just starting out. You can just go to the sources and buy up.
I just buy right from Kraken/Bitstamp/Gatehub
but at the time when you're trying to make moves IMMEDIATELY coinbase was and still is the best option to get the ball rolling so you can lock in on that price

If you want to get some bitcoin and have a hard time getting it. I can go to the local bitcoin atm and buy you some, they charge a stupid 15% markup, but I can get it for you and send it to you, Just install the Jaxx app on your phone and pm me a screen shot of your QR code for your bitcoin wallet, and I will go buy them and send them to you. I can accept all sorts of payments , Give me 24 hours for delivery. Not on weekends.

I am 100% transparent and will provide you with receipts and videos of your money going in the machine
