Official BGOL Crypto Currency Thread ★★★★★

They may be a stupid question but since both are currency why not use ETH to buy the ripple instead of bitcoin??

at this point we were trying to get to kraken to buy ripple before it was available
as it moves forward ripple will be available in places like coinbase and etc
the point is to get in when it's dirt cheap and then when it's later on and available we've got ripple and everything we need

the kicker is, which is the important distinction, we're getting FULL RIPPLES

like how when you put your money in, unless you putting 800 you ain't getting a full bitcoin?
eventually you not going to be able to put x amount in and get a full ripple but we're owning FULL ones which means we could pay for things with mere fractions.

Just did another 50 every time I come in here I re up lol. How long does it take for it to confirm the deposit on kraken. Also once it's deposited how do you trade for the ripple on kraken?

On a side note...
Has anyone seen or heard from that BGOL member who first told us about Bitcoin
I forgot his name
I'm curious of what he thinks about the future of Ripple

:confused::confused::confused:

Maliki. A cool frequent poster on here. Made a post about how Bitcoin was the next big thing and strongly suggested we invest in it and why. Shit blew up and he hasn't posted since.

Yea, thats his name
That ninja probably swimming in coins like Scrooge McDuck

Looks like he put just a $100 down initially. Probably added more once it starting rising

Any reason yall ain't jump on Bitstamp?
I have some in Kraken and some on Bitstamp. Just to have some sort of security since it's the 1st accepted exchange. And it will be live to buy with EU and USD tomorrow anyways.

I want to bring up something LSN & Mack1052, touched on, on the last page

There was an article & youtube vid from alexfortin.com. If you scroll down the coments section of the youtube vid, someone posted an interesting comment. I'm curious what y'all on BGOL think of it.....

"Ripple is the sleeper. The banks are already using it but have said very little about it to the public. If you read the latest report from the Federal Reserve, they have talked about each bank using a separate blockchain and using the interledger protocol of Ripple to tie them all together. Ripple is centralized and controllable by the banks. If I was a banker, Ripple would be the go to. It is also faster than any other competing technology, no lightning network or modification required. Ripple easily replaces the aging SWIFT network used by central banks. It is their dream protocol capable of defeating bitcoin"

"Ripple is centralized, so that will be a huge downset for them. The people want decentralized currency! Centralized currency only brought pain and suffering into this world."
-Laurens255

"Laurens255 True centralization is a big downer but it doesn't matter what the people want, it only matters what the banks want. The banks are here to stay."

this is a cool site too

https://coinmarketcap.com/

combined w/ this

http://www.investopedia.com/articles/basics/03/031703.asp

wish I had found this earlier when I got up...don't have time to read it now but it's good info that can possibly help you look @ growth vs risk

*edit*

just @ a quick glance ripple falls under this category...although not all that risky imo due to the low buy-in...

Micro cap - Mainly consisting of penny stocks, this category denotes market capitalizations between $50 million to $300 million fall into this category. The upward potential of these companies is similar to the downside potential, so they do not offer the safest investment, and a great deal of research should be done before entering into such a position.

ethereum on paper is a safer investment...

Small cap - Typically new or relatively young companies, small caps have a market cap between $300 million to $2 billion. Although their track records won't be as lengthy as those of the mid to mega caps, small caps do present the possibility of greater capital appreciation - but at the cost of greater risk.

of course take all this w/ a grain of salt...7 years ago I'm not sure how many ppl would've thought that bitcoin was a safe gamble :dunno:
