ya some feel keeping your own wallet is the most secure way...this wasn't an example tho of an extreme case...or meant to scare anyone...in this case they told members they'd have to transfer their bitcoins and provided recommendations

Circle is also announcing a partnership with Coinbase – essentially they are just directing all of their current customers to Coinbase who want to continue buying and selling Bitcoin.

I've only found once instance so far of a "reputable" company that basically said fuck y'all we're done and froze everyone's shit and that was mtgox...many of us are jumping on this (and rightfully so @ .006 ripple there's not much to lose)...just wanna educate myself more on what I'm getting into and sharing w/e I find that can help those who are in this or curious @ the least

One important thing ya'll have to look at is the WITHDRAWAL LIMITS
This shit ever hit big Kracken will drastically limit how much you can pull out
I believe the highest is 200,000 a month tier 3 and 500,000 per month tier 4
now if this gets up to $500 per ripple that's a big handcuff
I may keep 50% ripple in my wallet and %50 in Kracken (If those bastards ever tier 3 approve me)

ya I don't wanna put all my eggs in one basket...kraken...poloniex...and w/e portion I have on my desktop wallet I'll find additional sites where I can transfer/sell if it comes to that :dunno:

I think there was an 800 something limit not sure if its per transaction or per day. Verification was a simple sms text code sent to your phone. Didn't have to scan my id or anything i was prepared to be krakened. I did set up the app with the wallet beforehand.

On the 17th, ripple will begin trading on bitstamp which opens them up to a number of markets in Europe. Think of it in a way as jumping in on an ipo before it starts trading on the stock market.

With changelly i had to let my credit card know it wasn't fraud and then verify with an ID with chagelly; but their site still has problems with the us dollar; i tried to do a transaction yesterday and it didn't go thru; they told me they were having dollar issues and i had to wait until it was fix shaking my head....

I have a few questions. Like most I feel this is a half court shot to win a mil with blind folds on but shit I'm still taking my shot.

I used Coinbase they only let my weekly limit be 150 I assumed that was per CC but no I tried another card and it still said 150 per week so I assume that per account??

But I transferred to Kraken yesterday All but a few cents. I log back on my account today and it says I have 18 dollars still left on Coinbase. Did I make money off coinbase? I took that 18 and am in the process of sending that to kracken as well.

Fast forward to a minute ago looked at my coinbase account and it's back up to 3.oo again how is that account gaining money?

Yeah I was wondering wtf was going on. I tried to make two more deposits and these neegas never called my phone to give me the verification code. I'm going to retry in a minute.

ya good question...I noticed that too where it increases bit by bit...like I was down to $0 spending left on thurs. but fri. it was up to $35...bought a few BTC...limit went down to $1 then it was $8 earlier this morning but now it's up to $11...so I can't call it...idk...I guess it's slowly replenishing :dunno:

Im on Changelly but what is my BTC address? I have an account on Kraken and I'm tier 3 certified but I can't seem to find it.

First time doing this so I'm brand new to the whole bitcoin thing.

here's how to generate a deposit address (BTC address) in kraken to send the bitcoins to from changelly...in kraken...

1) go to the FUNDS tab
2) make sure you click DEPOSIT
3) on the left side there's a list of denominations...select BITCOIN (XBT)
4) click the green button on the bottom that reads GENERATE NEW ADDRESS
5) it will be added as a DEPOSIT ADDRESS (NEW ADDRESS)

that is the deposit address you will copy and paste when you are ready to send/transfer funds

...be forewarned tho...changelly hasn't been working for some of us

my first exchange said 'canceled' too...but it showed up in my balance...can't explain why :dunno: but you're good...I think it was bcuz I put in the amount of BTC I was using...but now instead I specify how much ripple I want...the first time I did it I think I ordered a fraction more than I had so it converted as much as it could and the 'canceled' reading is due to me running out of funds...like looking @ the amount you had...just to make it run smoothly I would've just requested 24,500 ripple...that would ensure I have enough to cover the purchase...and it would leave me w/ a little BTC remaining...I don't know if this is a correct answer...but it has been the difference between me getting that 'canceled' reading vs 'closed'

i think i said before but i might have forgot to mention it, just basically that you copy and paste the exact amount. exactly. decimals matter in this. every fraction matters.

Send exactly the same amount as was calculated in transaction details

But I bought the maximum amount. Any ideas?
 
so i still havent heard shit from kraken. i submitted for level 3 on monday night. coinbase constantly gives me an error message when i try to verify my address for credit card use. i did some research and found out that this is a common problem for some users. anyways...
i found an alternative that i think will work. the website localbitcoins or paxful. people buy and sell bitcoins on these sites. my only hold up now is, i want the best rate to buy the bitcoin. the rates are better if you use western union as opposed to a credit card.
finally, i just checked changelly (sp) and the rates are better on localbitcoins and paxful.

hopefully i get in before its too late. what exactly happens on the 17th? why is that a deadline?

On Changelly you can only buy $50 first time
$100 4 days later and $500 7 days after that. After 30 days no limits
