The NBA is built off nepotism. So many players, execs, and even analysts are second gen. If I prioritize light skin and passing for white, why the fuck would I not prioritize interracial unions that produce that ambiguity? People can love and be with who they want, but over prioritizing players for having white family members and demonizing the ones who don't as lesser than is still colorism. If Kobe married Brandy he wouldn't be an icon in the Mexican American community or a face of Los Angeles or as popular with white fans. Marrying a white woman of Hispanic origin and distancing himself from his Black family members has as much to do with his public persona as anything. Dude grew up in Europe, he always be depicted as more "unique" and "special" than regular Black Americans (who aren't ashamed of their Blackness).

Kobe has direct quotes where he said he doesn't want to be "boxed in" as being a Black American.

BGOL spent a decade saying LeBron "isn't close" to Kobe. If you group him with Harden, his fans go apeshit. But light skinnded Tatum and biracial Devin Booker who are less accomplished as both, are gladly seen as "mamba" proteges and dicksuck him openly. Kobe wasn't light skinnded, but socially he was white passing so his stans want his legacy continued by Al B. sure type pretty boys. :lol:

Understand, during Jim Crow fair skinned Blacks in the South and Midwest would migrate to California just to pass for white and gain access to Hollywood. So seeing Laker fans (like some on this board) dickeat Steph and the Warriors and be aloof towards LeBron or any star that's darker than a paper bag isn't a shock to those of us who know history.

I stay put of these Lebron vs Kobe vs Jordan debates because it's useless but I've never seen a superstar player catch so much shit for doing something.He exceeded everybody's expectations when he first enter the league and it's still not good enough.


Im pretty sure,Bron and Wade had a talk but folks still want to stir the pot. These so call commentators/journalist s want to say they're doing their job when folks call them out on their bullshit.

It really wouldn't be nothing for lebron to fly out for a couple hours and fly right back but he probably had his reasons.
I'm sure him and wade spoke about it already. It's not like they are on bad terms. Lebron was in the video the heat made featuring former heat players congratulating wade.

Maybe he dont wanna leave the family for non emergencies? He could have been flying around when he got the call his son was hospitalized and feels like shit about not being there.. Or maybe he didnt wanna be any kind of distraction as was stated.. Making this an issue is crazy man.

What I don't get is we ask these athletes hold on these BLACK athletes questions have standards and expectations we NEVER EVER have for white athletes.
