Official 2016-2017 season NY Giants Thread

Alshon will definitely demand more money but that injury streak he has scares me. I know I like the potential prospect of going after Julius Thomas once Jacksonville releases him and he's injury prone as well but Thomas is younger & won't command as much money.

We still have Will Johnson signed for another year and maybe Lacosse can stay healthy for once. Plus J. Adams. If we add some rookie competition we may do well at TE.

Yeah there's no way he's dropping to 23. He's probably the 2nd or 3rd best lineman in the draft, depending on the combine and everything even pass cam Robinson

Yeah, I figured that too. At 23, a very good TE should be available. We definitely need to stop reaching for O-linemen. We need a guaranteed lock anchor at LT.

Jerry needs to start calling some GMs right now and find a way to trade up. Tackle is an extreme need right now and we can't be sitting idle waiting for our turn

We need to throw out that old style of offense! Look at Atlanta & New England and how smooth their play calling is. You don't know who is getting the ball and everyone contributes. Draft some speed

So JPP wants a contract of 5 years at $85million & $58mil guaranteed. Ummm nope. It's been real. We appreciate your time here. That money can go to signing a much needed LT & fill other positions.

If my man didn't have an injury history (his back), I'd pay him. He's gonna get big dollars on the open market.

If he was asking for a more friendly contract then yes pay that man but our offensive line needs too much help & there's no guarantee that we land solid replacements in the draft. We're probably gonna have to acquire at least one in free agency & will end up overpaying since it's a desperate need position

Yeah, free agency is gonna be pricey. Giants have 30 mill+(after dealing with Cruz and a few others). But some teams have north of 60 mill and one has 100 mill+. We may just be fighting for scraps.

SALSA has left the building.

With these two cuts we should have about $35M in cap space.

Dumbass Donnell was also released.

Writing was on the Wall for Cruz.

Sad to see dude go. I'll never forget that magical 2011 season. Dude wasn't as fast as Beckham but his YAC that year was insane. Torched Nnamdi and the Eagles, 99 yards against the JESTS. All in all 5 60+ yard TD receptions (1 shy of an NFL record).

Pouring one out for vc...

Not surprised at seeing Cruz get cut & hope he lands on a team in the AFC that will utilize him. I'm just glad time freeze mud foot ass Jennings is gone.

Larry Donnell wasn't released but rather Giants won't resign him. Dude had so much potential 6'6 TE pretty athletic but his dumb ass couldn't stop himself from trying those acrobatic moves and fumbling.

Cost him his job and most likely his career.
