Official 2014 NBA Playoffs thread

You're right he did need to demand the ball a bit more. I was just pointing out there were two instances where he could've received the ball plus he was open. It all happened so quick so Russell did the best he could.

It should be engraved into their minds. Get the ball look for durant. And im not talking westbrook, im talking the others who get carried every game. seffalosa gets the ball he stops and says where is durant? instead you have fisher and jackson waving off durant to take shots

Doc Rivers is a very good coach. Very good, and an even better motivator and leader. But lets not complicate things or overcelebrate him here. This win is not on him. Its on Scott Brooks and his refusal or inability to fucking adjust and coach on even the most basic of levels.

Players get 20 point leads. Coaching keeps them.

you know how long i been saying this about brooks lol

There really wasn't any time on the clock left.

word?

look I am not a guy who over reacts to one win or loss

but shoot....this was a real bad loss

this was a clusterfuck of execution down the stretch that will be examined for a long fucking time.

You mean to tell me you had high double digit leads, the clippers offense was pretty much broke today and you still lost

I had the Thunder to beat the SPurs in the next round but I am not going to lie...this game made me rethink that a bit.

this was a total lack of late game composure...its not like the Clippers outside of DeAndre Jordan defended well today

^^^^

They do what they do In spite of Brooks....getting by on their freaky talent. They need a legit HC
Exactly!

Now we're on to something, Get the ball to Durant! Maybe he doesn't command the ball like Kobe or Melo?

another thing

DeAndre Jordan is seriously on his way to becoming a good big man. Still needs offensive polish but he is a hard worker in the paint and a good shot deterrent.

He is showing up the persons who wanted to trade him away from the clippers

Going on 4 years. And nothings changed. If anything they may be regressing. If not for a very suspect Zbo suspension these guys may have been ousted in round one this year.

They haven't regressed, they just haven't gotten better. You can't run the same plays for 6 years and expect the same results, people watch tape, people get coached. they have not.

This game was on brooks. Immediately when chris paul didn't get rest, don't rest westbrook because 1 he doesn't need it and 2 every time they did they went on a run which westbrook had to get under control when he got back in the game. it happened in 4 different occasions.

went durant went down when they thought he had his 2nd foul, the thunder actually extended their lead.

the end of the game not fouling is yet another unforgivable coaching mistake.

they're going to find a way to blame westbrook when he's been absolutely balling this entire series. even when cp3 had his unbelievable mirage of a game 1 westbrook still wasn't far off stat wise.

even magic had to sit there and say westbrook is playing the point guard position the way its supposed to be played

but we'll get a truck load of they can't win because of him. and no, durant cannot take shorter people to the basket and dominate.

little guys give him trouble

allen and now paul.

and that should be the #1 defender he wants to see.

Exactly!

it's a 2 way street. durant needs to demand the ball MORE and be absolute

AND

there should never be an instance where a caron butler, fisher or reggie jackson can wave off durant and get their shot.

that's why i laugh when people try to point to westbrook and say he's a hog or he doesn't do this or that. westbrook is the only person actually talented enough to do this on the team.

but reggie jackson and fisher do that shit all the time.

that's coaching.

ball didn't move better when jackson was in for westbrook. durant HAD to score 30 points a night or else they would fucking lose lol

we just saw this last year and they want to act like it didn't happen.
westbrook went out, durant had like 35 points 9 rebounds 8 assists a game shooting over 50% and they got their asses whipped by memphis.

this did actually happen whether people want to admit it or not

Co sign and it started with his free throw shooting.

Now get him in the gym with Hakeem this summer

Man

I always been a fan of his upside

Look what good coaching has done to his game

Westbrook has been a problem for years. He needs to take a page from Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh book on how to play team ball. Wade and Bosh average between 11 and 15 shots a game. This allows other teammates a chance to get in a groove and easy shots.

Westbrook takes between 24 and 28 shots per game while the rest of his teammates takes between 4 and 8 shots per game (not counting Durant). Not only does he take shots away from his teammates he only shoots around 37%.

He gets 6 plus assist because they come from Durant and he continues to not get other players involved. Look at the stats, Westbrook is taking almost 30 shots while the other players are getting about 8 shots a game. That is crazy and it makes OKC easy to defend.

26 points

8 assists

9 rebounds

A GAME AVERAGE coming into today's game

but this dude who isn't a point guard is the problem right?

and I know now people will say "oh it's not the stats if you watch the game"

but if his ass was averaging 12 points 2 rebounds 1 assist and 5 turnovers a game suddenly the numbers would tell the whole story huh?

When Brownturd is agreeing with you, you know you're wrong?

Westbrook took I think 25 shots this game

The rest of his starting five/bench

Ibaka 5 shots
Perkins 2 Shots
Jackson 8 Shots
Selfolosha 2 Shots
Butler 7 shots

You can't win this way. Durant takes about 26 shots a game in which he should because he is the leader of the team and shoots a really good percentage.

With the athletic ability of Westbrook, why is he taking 25 plus shots? He could get 12 points from the line a game by attacking the rim. Westbrook only needs to take "High percentage" shots. and distribute the ball to his teammates. If he takes only high percentage shots and get the rest of his points from the line he could only take 14 shots a game and still average 24 pts

D Wade now only takes high percentage shots and it is the reason he shoots over 50%. He takes about 11 to 13 really good shots and gets the rest of his points from the line.

Fuck on the way. He is a good big man.

I wouldn't know this is the same player from two years ago.

He's advanced more in two years than Dwight has in eight.

And yo, ok, so OKC was winning for most of the game, and it's not like the Clippers one big run. They slowly cut into the game. And because it's a playoff game on TV they have TV time outs.

So why the fuck were they out of time outs

Coaching :smh:

Chuck calling out okc AGAIN. Glad to see SOMEONE acknowledge that their half court offense is non existent.

It really makes no sense how pathetic the Pacers are at scoring points

I have never seen a number 1 seed be down by 20 points as often as the Pacers. It's like either they win a close game or get blown the fuck out.

No in-between

charles right tho. fuckin scott brooks...best talent but dont know how to coach them still. if he coached them to keep moving the ball this game would have been a 8 point win at least. dude needs to learn to make better in game adjustments

PG aint the superstar folks made him out to be.
Got that Money, and a la Hibbert...he just a regular ol player.

All those 3's.....shit aint a everyday thing.
Reminds me of how the Nets shot 1 mill 3's yesterday.
all these mediocre teams gotta depend on shit liek that to stay alive.
not good. How they gonna compete with the 2013-14 Champ Spurs in the finals!!
