Chris Tomasson
Tracy McGrady figured last January that Dwight Howard and the Lakers
would be a good match. "(Howard) wants to be Hollywood,'' McGrady said
at the time. "He's just that type of dude."

Bulls realize that with Rose missing next year they ain't competing even for a confernce title. That deal the Rockets gave Asik was as retarded as the one they gave Lin. I am glad the Bulls did not put themselves in cap hell by keeping him. I can live with eurotrash like Vladimir and Darko for cheap on the short term. Besides the Bulls have to resign Taj who is a priority and a keeper. Also Deng will be traded hopefully by the trade deadline. Then we can save our amnesty for Boozer when his deal dwindles down. Bulls will be okay come 2013-2014 and beyond when we retool and have money to spend:yes: I already conceded a Heat repeat. So good day BDR:cool:

Just a year ago mofos was high on Deng. Is it the injuries or the money that's the problem?

Shoot people were saying he is the Lebron stopper.

Most definately the money with Deng. We like Deng because he is a competitor who does not back down from Bron(kinda like how Chalmers always plays Drose tough for reference). Deng had a good game. He was clearly the best player on GBR's squad but they got ran out the gym today even the English crowd was cheering for the USA layup line.:lol::lol:

Ryan Hollins signs with the Clippers!

Darko, Nazr, Aaron Gray and Pryzbilla are becoming more valuable as centers disappear. Jerome James is available also the Rockets waived him but the Knicks kept him on their summer team so he can get exposure.

Shane Battier, hitting a small ball, weighs in on Heat’s “smallball”
by Ethan J. Skolnick

The bookmakers don’t like Shane Battier this week.

The Heat forward, who is the only active NBA player in the American Century Golf Championship field after Ray Allen pulled out, is a 300-1 shot to win the Lake Tahoe tournament, well behind favorites Tony Romo (5-2), Rick Rhoden (7-2), Billy Joe Tolliver (7-2) and John Smoltz (5-1). He’s only a few spots ahead of Charles Barkley, who possesses one of the world’s most grosteque golf swings and stands at 1000-1.

Still, Battier couldn’t stop smiling since he landed in Nevada on Wednesday, after spending the past couple of weeks back in home in Michigan before a quick trip to Duke to prepare with a golfing mentor. He was greeted at the airport by the NFL’s all-time leading rusher, Emmitt Smith, with the words, “Congratulations, Champ.”

“Doesn’t get any better than that,” Battier said.

Battier called Ray Allen — who had to pull out of the tournament due to his recent ankle surgery — and Rashard Lewis “great additions” who are “really smart basketball players” and “want to win.”

He said he understood Allen’s mindset, because it was somewhat like his own the summer before: ”I could have gone anywhere as a free agent last year, but it’s nice to wake up January 2nd, put on your flip‑flops, throw your clubs in the trunk for a quick nine holes after practice. So it’s not too shabby living in Miami.

After “a nice, long, slow victory lap,” the Heat will be “ready to do it again,” in Battier’s view.

“We don’t want to hand that trophy off to anybody else,” Battier said.

But how will the Heat handle its new roster riches, especially on the perimeter?

Is there time for everyone?

“A lot of it depends on Mike, and I don’t think anybody really knows what that situation is going to be,” Battier told the Palm Beach Post, referring to his close friend Mike Miller, who is forgoing back surgery for now in the hope his back heals. “I think (Pat) Riley is being sold on smallball. I think that he’s had a Come to Jesus moment. I think we’ll have a lot of flexibility like last year. I don’t know how that’s all going to play out, because we’ve got a lot of players. We’ve got a lot of good players who can play. I think Spo will have an interesting job trying to create rhythm and rotations, but it’s a good problem to have.”

Battier understands his defensive work, as an undersized power forward against the likes of David West and Brandon Bass, may have pushed Riley in this direction.

“You can get away with it,” Battier said. “You can get away with a stretch four guarding (someone). I think we’ve proven we can do it. I think for 82 games, it’s a little more difficult, because you do have to expend a lot of energy when you’re smaller. I play at 215 pounds, and I’m banging a guy 50 pounds heavier than me. It does take its toll energy-wise. We’ll be able to go to that lineup, I don’t think we’ll be able to beat it to death.”

Dont know if this means anything....Seem like this mean Drew dont have a list or never stated what teams he would sign with?

"Andrew Bynum's agent, David Lee, was surprised to read a recent report indicating his interest in signing a new deal with the Cavaliers.

"When I read it online I was in Alaska with Andrew and his family," said Lee. "I was taken aback by the list considering there is nobody in anybody’s camp he could’ve been talking to. I have no idea where that came about."

The Cavaliers have been involved in multi-team Dwight Howard/Bynum trade talks involving the Lakers and Magic.

The Yahoo! report also included the Mavericks as a team Bynum would be interested in signing with."

Andray Blatche latest big to come free on market

MIAMI—

These recent days could be the start of something big for the Heat, if they opt to move in such direction.

Thursday, two days after being placed on amnesty waivers, Washington Wizards forward Andray Blatche made it through that process and now is an unrestricted free agent.

Blatche joins fellow amnesty alums Darko Milicic and Chris Andersen as centers who now can go to the team of their choice.

The market for Milicic apparently shrunk by at least one team Thursday, when the Los Angeles Clippers signed free-agent center Ryan Hollins. The Clippers had been among the finalists for Milicic, with the Heat still in that group.

At 25, Blatche is the youngest of the 14 amnesty players to go through the buyout process that relieves their previous teams of the players' luxury-tax burdens.

As with the other amnesty cuts, Blatche will receive the reminder on his contract, in this case $23 million over the next three seasons.

Because of that guaranteed payout, it makes it more likely he would accept a minimal deal, which is all the Heat are in position to offer.

While the Heat likely will play Chris Bosh at center going forward, as they did during the latter stages of their just-completed championship run, the team's depth at center is somewhat limited, with Joel Anthony and Dexter Pittman the team's only centers currently under contract.

While the Heat guaranteed Pittman's contract for 2012-13, he is in the midst of a foul-filled, uneven performance with the Heat's summer-league roster in Las Vegas.

Having cleared waivers, there is no deadline for Anderson, Milicic or Blatche to sign.
To appreciate how far Blatche, who is listed at 6 feet 11, has fallen, he could have been claimed on amnesty waivers for $3.8 million total over the next three seasons by any team currently operating below the NBA salary cap, with each of those teams electing to bypass the underachieving former Syracuse standout.

WOW... Blatche is ONLY 25.... I'd take a flier on him.... I mean, say what you want... He DEFINITELY has some skills... BUT... at the same time, he can be a head case... I wouldn't mind him in a Knicks uniform...

low IQ, poor teammate, lazy player, who tends to get out of shape

Yep, he belongs with the Snickers :D

There's a reason nobody took a bid on him. You don't mind him in a Knicks uniform now but chances are that once you see him with the team you will. He's a big guy who floats on the perimeter way too much, takes too many bad shots and will probably lose his fucking mind when he realizes that his shots are supposed to come after Melo and Amare and JR and Shumpert when he gets back.

If you're the least bit concerned about chemistry you would be better off without Blatche.

Yeah BUT... look at who he was around... A Class Clown(Arenas)... A Criminal( Crittenton) and a RETARD(McGee)... It's NO WONDER why he developed bad habits... :smh:

Oh... Believe me... I totally understand who he is...
BUT... off of pure talent... Dude might be worth a look...
Plus, he's only 25... There's still a little hope for him... IF... and ONLY IF... he gets with the right team... NOW... Are the Knicks THAT TEAM??? I don't know...
As constructed, we have a lot of veterans on the team now who could help him get it right... AND we have a STRONG coach is NOT GOING FOR THE BULLSHIT...

BUT... at the same time... Blatche can be a head case and after STARBURY... I DON"T WANT ANYMORE CANCERS ON MY TEAM... So... for me... My heart wouldn't mind taking a flier on the kid... YET... my mind says... HE IS WHO HE IS... :smh:

Think the idea fit for him is the spurs, then maybe the last years Heat team with Juan Howard, as a strong group players around him, don't know about Coach Spo coaching him up tho.

Yeah BUT... look at who he was around... A Class Clown(Arenas)... A Criminal( Crittenton) and a RETARD(McGee)... It's NO WONDER why he developed bad habits... :smh:

Arenas has been gone for years. Crittenton has been gone longer than he was there and Blatche is older than McGee and was with the team years before McGee. He didn't develop bad habits because of them though the disfunction didn't help he's simply failed to undo bad habits and become a smarter player.

You can't blame them for him being arrested for soliciting a prostitute or being suspended for insubordination, McGee and Blatche did get into outside of a strip club and he did host Lapdance Tuesdays. He's a knucklehead though he is talented. I hope a change of scenery helps him as it can't hurt but who knows if the Knicks where his shots would probably be limited is a good spot for him.

I can't argue that... I'm just saying he was around some fools so it's wonder that he never matured... BUT... He's still kind of young... Although... IT'S NOW OR NEVER... The prostitute thing...
That's just ridiculous...
I don't know if NYC would be right for him either... BUT... I do know if he did... He would... AT THE VERY LEAST... be around some MORE mature folks... Like Coach Woody... Tyson... Kurt Thomas... Camby... I would have put Jason Kidd in there BUT... you know...:lol::lol:

In any event... You;re right... A change of scenery may do wonders for him... Look at JaVale... When he left D.C., it's like he grew a BRAIN... Maybe the same will happen for Blatche... Who knows... :dunno:

i honestly hopes thibbs leaves y'all ass because you negroes cant see you have a great coach

i always give tom tibby props. check the post over the last 2 years.
All im saying is his coaching skil wil be tested. cause from what im seeing the Bulls set to get a mid round draft pick.

Bulls lookin like shit on a stick

and u smell like the shit thats on the stick.

I'm hoping the rest of the plan is, for 2013:

We trade Deng for a good 2 and an exception or draft pick (still thinking Tyreke Evans)

We amnesty Booz to extend Taj

We decline Rip's team option

And we use our money to get FA Josh Smith

Rose/Hinrich/Teague
2 guy we traded Deng for/exception pick-up/Hinrich
Smith/Jimmy/Vlad
Taj/Smith/draft pick
Noah/Darko?

We do that, and we're right back in it. We might can even avoid the luxury with Tyreke's rookie contract and not giving Taj too much money

First of all the Rockets still haven't submitted the offer sheet for Asik so that issue is still up in the air though I also hope that they don't match the offer. The team picked up a 5 million dollar exemption when they traded Kyle Korver. Rip is as good as gone. They're already trying to trade him. Even with an amnesty on Boozer they won't have the money for Josh Smith and Taj Gibson without delving into the luxury tax. Vlad is only a 1 year deal from what reports say.

They're sending the offer for Asik tomorrow so that's pretty much a done deal. The rest of the stuff I know. The Vlad deal is for a year, but I think they'll keep him if he does a good job this year since he's also cheap. We just need him to knock 3s.

The thing I'm not sure about is how exceptions work.

Here's what I was thinking: The key is moving Deng and not giving Taj too much money when we amnesty Boozer. We get an exception with Deng if we traded him for a 6 million dollar guy like Tyreke or DeRozan, and his contract is worth like 13 mil, we should get a 7 million dollar exception. I thought we could use that exception and Kyle's exception to get a big dollar contract player through sign and trade, but I just read how exceptions work and my way actually wouldn't work out.
