~--~Official 2012 NBA Draft/Offseason Thread~--~

Shit him going to Houston might still work out in the Nets damn favor if Dwight holds his resolve they may be forced to trade him to the Nets ultimately...but then again they might even watch him walk away for nothing tryna hope to the last minute he reups w/ them...who the fuck knows what the hell they're tryna do in Houston

that was Houston original plan. If Dwight threatens to leave they would just trade him to the Nets but Morey allowed D12 threats to scare him off and he had no other choice

if the nets get Dwight and the rockets run with what they have, they will still have trade value in scola, an expiring contract in Martin, and the rest of the team (besides Asik if the bulls don't match) making under 5 mill per year. They can go throw max money or damn close to it at some FA's next year, plus they still could possibly have 3 first round picks next year. Hopefully I'm seeing this dude plan, which is to tank but not really tank this year....go big next year.....

But knowing this Morey geek he's gonna over think this shit and FUCK up somehow.....getting d12 would be horrible for us IMO

Creed seriously all bullshit aside how the hell do the Knicks have a championship core when Tyson and Kidd were role players on a championship team...and Melo has only been out of Round 1 once..and STAT.....welll you get the picture... That's like me saying my Bulls have a championship even with a heatlhy Rose.

So.. the knicks can't have a championship core? Melo can't become better...Stat either? u were one of the knicks don't play defense ppl ... they finished 5th in that...

No team has a championship core... thats y games r played...last season is done...heat won... this coming season is open...

Houston Actually looks like they got worse

Lost both Point guards

Didnt get howard loss camby.

Drafted three middle of the road guys no standouts.

what hell is houston doing?? TANKING for first pick next year might be a smart move!!

Killa any news on Aaron brooks I think he would great off the bench or as a starter for some team i heard Houston wants him

What about Jerald Bayless he is a baller....Could a be a starter somewhere??

Dejuan Blair as well is a nice piece to add to a team....starter potential.

He met with Mchale sunday and is expected to sign in houston.

Bayless is getting no attention which is weird.

blair is the typical Spurs move. Same they pulled with George Hill. Young player is due to get an extension the trade him to avoid paying him for a quality player.

man how are ya'll trying to argue that the knicks didn't improve is beyond me. they traded TD, Harellson, and J Jordan with 2 2nd round picks for Camby who was starting as Center last year and was the best rebounder in the entire league just to play backup?

The hate of the Knicks have driven some of you guys to lose your senses. Also beyond all of that Camby being traded in the first place was arguably one of the worse trades the organization ever made and he literally connects this team to the 1999 knicks team.

I like the knicks moves

PG Kidd
C Camby

Resign Lin, Resign Novak Get Shumpert healthy.

I wonder who is the backup Pf they should look at Dejuan Blair:eek::eek::eek:

You're forgetting one old, lead footed slow assed component Chief!

Spoke w/ source who tells me Nets deal WON'T happen. Teams lining up w/ offers featuring cap relief/picks, which Hennigan wanted all along.

Orl Gm is smart... fuck what Dwight wants... unless traded to the Nets he won't be there. if teams wanna gamble on him...so be it lol...I mean that nets trade was fucking horrible...

Championship Core? Yeah, they definitely do and if someone can unseat Karl Malone as League MVP we might be on to something... :hmm:

Damn Deng left Olympic practice yesterday with an injury...can someone explain to me why the fuck aren't the Bulls taking precaution with him?.....This is ridiculous.

He left early, but they said he was ok. He played in a game tonight, that they lost and he shot 3 for 14...

And Thibbs says he might not need surgery, fuck that. If we're stuck with Deng, we need to at least get his shot back :smh:

the Knicks are putting the band back togther.
every major contributor will be back. Hopefully Shump gets healthy quick and they can really gel as a team with the additions of Kidd & Camby. No splashy moves or game changers but I am happy with their moves to date.

- principles back togther
- legit backup PG to help mesh offense & tutor Lin
- acquired one of the best big men available to come off bench

but when its all said and done this team can only go as far as Melo, Amare & Lin can take it. They have to mesh. Amare has to play atleast a bit in the post. Lin has to continue to develop. And Melo gotta become a more well-rounded player constiently.

When the Spurs find a role player they like, they keep them. Enter Danny Green. The Spurs and Green, a restricted free agent, have agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal, reports Sam Amick of Sports Illustrated.

Who of note did the Knicks stop? It's not that you stop it's WHO you stop and more importantly WHEN you stop them. No Stat cannot become better. Melo can only become better through becoming a defensive stud which isn't likely. I mean he's already the best or 2nd best scorer in the league...how much more can he progress? ...

This shit is going to be nice, hope the Heat bring Pittman back.

Celtic's owner Wyc Grousbeck on Ray Allen's demands & departure: "There was a price tag put out there, it just wasn't one we could get to."

"I was utterly surprised. I knew there was some emotion involved. I respect Ray and I always will."

"It just riles me up that he went down to our arch-rivals for half-price -- what's that about? And I want to make it not an easier path to a ring. I want to make it a harder path to a ring, if I have anything to say about it." (via WEEI)

The Orlando Magic coaching job is about to change dramatically. It’s about to be a young team and finding a coach who can develop and grow with a team that is not going to win a lot of games next season after Dwight Howard is traded.

New teams have reportedly emerged that could replace the Cavaliers as facilitators in the blockbuster trade that would send Dwight Howard to Brooklyn.

Hold off buying your Kris Humphries jerseys, Cavaliers fans. New teams emerged overnight that could replace the Cavs as facilitators for the blockbuster trade that would send Dwight Howard to his beloved Brooklyn Nets.

Here's the latest from the rumor wire:

Charlotte-Observer: "An NBA source confirms the Bobcats would be interested in Humphries, but only if he signs a one-season contract, rather than the multi-year deal he reportedly prefers."

ESPN: "The Bobcats have more salary-cap space than the Cavs and would not be opposed to a multiyear deal for Humphries, a source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher."

Alex Kennedy, Hoops World via Twitter: "The latest team linked to the multi-team Dwight Howard trade? The Timberwolves. They may get involved in the talks, according to sources." and "The Cavaliers are having second thoughts about potential three-team deal with the Magic and Nets, according to source. They may back out."

Atlanta-Journal Constitution: "The Hawks have engaged the Magic in trade talks involving Howard, according to a person with knowledge of the discussions. That person did not want to be identified because the teams involved have not discussed the negotiations publicly."

The Plain Dealer: "[Kris Humphries' agent] Dan Fegan -- who also represents Howard -- reportedly had not spoken to the Cavs as of Monday afternoon, though that could change at any time, and he would be negotiating a new deal with Brooklyn, anyway."

Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski via Twitter: "The Rockets refuse to give up on the Dwight Howard derby, gathering more assets to try and entice the Orlando Magic to engage in talks."

New York Post: "Some teams obviously have no desire to help the Nets build a superpower in Brooklyn by adding Howard to a mix that includes re-signed stars Deron Williams and Gerald Wallace along with Joe Johnson, whom the Nets recently acquired in a trade that cannot be finalized until tomorrow. But there are just as many teams eager to help, especially in the Western Conference... 'You’ve got teams lining up to give a draft pick to keep Howard away from the Lakers,' said one rival GM, laughing."

Cinesport Video: The Cavaliers are reportedly involved in a potential 3-team deal that would send Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets. CineSport's Tara Petrolino and Sheridanhoops.com's Chris Sheridan discuss.

@PeterBurnsRadio: The NYK $13.2M deal for Marcus Camby brings his career earnings to $132M. $42m more than Michael Jordan.

Shit who else was gonna start shooting guard?

Wow, that is right. Shump will most likely miss a lot of next season so JR will be the starter. I'm anxious to see what he does in a starting role. Call me biased but I used to always think that JR could be a top 5 SG if he were level-headed and had a better basketball iq.

He's streaky but he can play good defense and score at will at times.

im bias also.....i like players like JR, Russell, Ricky Davis, John Starks, Javale McGee etc... They have talent lack IQ but are sparks plugs when playing time allows. Just can't have two of them on the court at the same time.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Kinda want to throw Nate Robinson in this group, but he's been playing with poise lately.

How many team have been fucking around with the magic and dwight howard

Nets
Lakers
Bulls
Thunder
Hawks
Rockets

teams that assisting on the trade
Clippers
Cavs
Now Timberwolves & Bobcats

Alex Kennedy ‏@AlexKennedyNBA
The Charlotte Bobcats have also been mentioned as a possible third or fourth team in the talks, according to source. This is out of control

Spurs bringing the band back also

Boris Diaw has reached agreement on a two-year, $9 million-plus contract to stay with San Antonio, league source tells Y! Sports.

Mask, great job with the info bruh.

All these teams helping Dwight get to the Nets baffles me. Are they trying to live vicariously through the Nets. Trying to realize their dreams of beating Miami through Brooklyn?

Cuz they know that if Dwight goes to BK then that potentially becomes two teams that they will not be beating for next 2-3 years. At least on paper.

Oh well, I want to see it happen. Nets-Heat would be crazy.

Aren't the Clippers pulling out of this deal? If I was the Cavs I would at least ty to cop Brooks.

Doesn't matter if they "help" them or not when Dwight leaves he's not going to a small market team. So basically they are just postponing it. Whether its NY or LA he's gone.

Exactly. Magic have to get something for him now or lose him for nothing later
