The team has been telling Gasol all season to be more aggressive. He's been told in past seasons to be more aggressive. There are no plays designed specifically for him; on his touches, he needs to shoot J's or drive to the cup...and he did NONE of that in the 4th. Can I get a GIF of any rebounding that Gasol did in the 4th? He grabbed NO boards, either. So let me get this straight. Gasol did no scoring, grabbed no boards, didn't play a lick of defense and you're pinning everything on Kobe? I agree that he shot them out of the 4th...stupidly...but where THE FUCK was Gasol? Even Bynum played soft in the second half.

As guilty as Kobe is for his poor shot selection in the 4th, the Lakers would not have been in a position to win Game 4 if not for his performance for the previous three quarters. By contrast, Gasol was poor in the 4th but was not doing much in the previous quarters either. So...

Do you blame the guy that was brilliant for 3 quarters but a jackass in the 4th...or do you blame the guy that was a ghost in the 2nd half and barely registering in the first half, when he's supposed to be a key scoring option? Even if you argue away his lack of shooting...how do you argue away his lack of D or lack of rebounding?

Like it or not, Kobe is the first option for offense on this team. If Bynum/Gasol don't get/keep low post position (Gasol strugles with this constantly) then what is the offense supposed to do? Kobe has to post up or try to create a shot. If he was not shooting (even if they are shit shots) then who else would? Blake? MWP? Sessions? Barnes? All of those guys have been struggling and inconsistent. So...your perimeter guys aren't hitting, your center is showing up when he feels like it, Gasol is not shooting the ball, your PG is struggling (except for the last game)...and you wonder why Kobe is shooting the ball?
