If Iran destroyed them, it would be because they developed nuclear capacity or they unleashed such a deadly combo of troops and conventional weapons that they engaged them in mutually assured destruction. Putting Russia and China in a hell of a position, and who knows what they'd decide to do.
So Iran would destroy them AND our gas would jump to $10 when those Israeli and American nukes hit. I'm not surprised that Obama wants to keep the status quo with Israel. It would be political suicide for ANY politician to show dissent with Israel. Ashkenazi Jews in this country have a VERY specific agenda on Israel, and if politicians aren't down with it then they're yanked out. I don't know if it's zionism, or Israel being a strategic ally in the Middle East or what, but our government seems to love spending tax dollars to support them.
