Everything must be going wrong :smh:

from ABC:

Obama is appearing as part of the show's "Red, White & View" series, which has featured prominent American politicians and discussions on current political issues. Vice President Joe Biden made a guest appearance in April.

The president will take the hot seat among the show's five female hosts, who represent a range of backgrounds and political views, at a time when his administration grapples with challenges from the economy to the BP oil spill.

Obama's approval ratings have hit new lows, according to the latest Washington Post-ABC News poll. Nearly six in 10 Americans say they lack confidence in the president to make the right decisions for the country, and a majority doubt his handling of the economy.

Still, the administration has had some recent legislative victories, which Obama may discuss on the show, including passage of financial regulatory reform and a sweeping health care reform law.

Obama was previously a guest on "The View" in March 2008 as a Democratic presidential candidate. At the time, he faced questions about the swirling Rev. Jeremiah Wright controversy.

"I didn't have a research team during the course of 20 years to go pull every sermon he's given and see if there's something offensive that he's said," Obama said of Wright.

He later disavowed his ties to the controversial reverend and effectively resigned from the church.

Nothing's really going wrong. But presidents shouldn't appear on daytime talk shows or for that matter late night comedy shows like Leno and Letterman.

I don't think Obama takes the position as seriously as he should.

Lets face it, like The View or hate it, an appearance (if done right) gets you cool points with its largely female audience.

Nothing's going wrong, 15 Day member? The conservative media is running at full speed to destroy Obama. Radio/TV/Print are all working in sync to delegitimize this President. Trust me, if he was doing well he wouldn't be appearing on the View, they would ask Biden or Hillary to go make an appearance. Hillary probably would turn em down though.

People always underestimate the conservative media machine. It's a beast, That's why I feel bad for any President portrayed to be from the Left. But the one thing any Administration needs to understand, a offense strategy is mandatory. That feel good shit is over with. The media is stacked to the deck with corporatists and conservatives who get the pass all day long for rolling on Democrats

Didn't Clinton go on Arsenio? GTFOH

He is looking for points. Cool points. ANY cool points. He is taking a beating right now. What could it hurt?

For awhile I was sick of seeing him on tv but since he's listened to my warning and stayed off the last year, so for now ill allow him to go on that sissy chat hour.

How is that different from any other day since he took office?

The only significant problem for the administration is the economy and all the speeches and interviews in the world aren't going to improve that.

And people aren't going to give the administration any credit for its successes until the unemployment rate goes down significantly.

Clinton was a presidential candidate at the time.

And if Obama is looking for points he could try working on the economy to a greater degree.

It's a new day and age my friend, Media is totally different now then it was before.

as a citizen who contributes to his salary with my taxes i would like to make a request that he makes sherri sheppard do the interview topless

This man just signed a bill allowing the biggest tax breaks for the middle class in the history of this country last week. He doesn't take his job seriously?
You are a fucking IDIOT.

Something that is really out of the hands of any President to a large degree but they own it anyway.
With Obama still being the most effective speaker for his initiatives and ideas, he has to go where the audiences will be and that includes "The View". That's the same reason he sat down with Bill O'Reilly and other talk shows over the course of his administration.

Care to say what else he can do that you know he's not doing?

It feels litttle worthless as president of the U.S.
It is a new day in media and it is reaching the masses who vote & who listen to Palin

I would rather see him talk to Ed Shultz or Maddow

But they Will hold his feet to the Fire

"The View" has a larger, more diverse audience than either one of them.

he should also do oprah , orielly, hannity and whom eva else he can to get HIS SIDE OUT the propaganda machine is a beast if u dont face it head on

why shouldt he use the media when its obvious its being used againt him most of his work is paper work soo he can take an hour a week out to "check" any bullshit out there that needs his attention
i kno u say "thats why there is the press briefings " but it would b better for him to atleast speak once a week to put a "human" face on the president's office and not jus "statements"

U are right on that point .. I think worthless is the wrong word .... I don't want to see him on American Idol & that has a larger following... I think it degrades the esteem of the Office.. It might be a little Snobbish or Old school in thinking but I do acknowledge its a new Day

Except for Hannity, I agree completely. At least Bill-O pretends to be some form of journalist, Hannity's a hack.

I can understand that but the main problem with this administration has not been inactivity but not doing enough chest thumping. Shit, he's signed major legislative initiatives in the last two weeks but we're were inundated with the Sherrod distraction and this Wikilinks leak (while it has real news value, how does that affect the economy and jobs?)

Ideally, Hasselbeck takes the day off and they substitute her with a more savvy conservative that can really pepper Obama with questions....Laura Ingraham did "The View" a couple weeks ago...she'd be great...but I bet Obama would back out if that happened.

And what is this mystical, magical "bill allowing the biggest tax breaks for the middle class in the history of this country last week." that is being bandied in here?

He needs to get his message out anyway he can, and since he doesn't have a FOX Network to push his agenda he has to do what he has to do. :dunno:

He has most of the media, other than fox, sucking his dick though.

Go on ABC...Damn even NBC. Today show is perfect because Meredith and Matt would die to make him look good. Most people have to work when the view is on anyways.

I don't think he has Most of the Media in his pocket
That can be argued during the campaign Cuz the media loves a good Hollywood Story but Right after that..... I don't think so at all

I see the media constantly harping on Non issue stories such as
How he looks
Did he seem Confident Enough
Do people still like him
Has he failed as a president
Did he say the right thing to make people feel good
Did he move people with his speech
Has he lost his Swag
Has he lost the "It Factor"

Straight TMZ shit a majority of the time

When they are not doing that they primarily argue soundBytes instead of Delving into the Complexities of issue

I think they Harp on the One man Too much... They pay very little to any attention to the Members of his administration
It take many people to run a country. In that sense I think the media "Sweats" him too much

Bruh... I feel you but let's be honest. O'Reilly is a hack too... I could pretend I'm a doctor but it wouldn't make me one y'know?

I liked the track this administration took early on... being completely dismissive of Fox news as a news org and calling it what really it is.... a de facto GOP political operation.

Why would he back out? Are you really this out of touch with reality? This guy sonned the entire House GOP in that televised forum a few months back... do you really think Laura Inghram would present him with a serious challenge?

Obama has his faults. Debating lightweight hacks isn't one of them.

Bingo, the rest of the media isn't in his pocket they just aren't as anti-Obama as Fox.

You are a fucking IDIOT.

PLEASE repeat that sheit! and the mutha fukas who are complaining about president obama are the ones who are benefiting from sheit like this!

He didn't "son" the House GOP...initally, I thought he did but I read some fact checks and Obama was bullshitting in retrospect....but his style points were unmatched.

Ingraham would grilled him and Ann Coulter would probably decimate him.

And again, where's this historic tax break that yall are talking about?

That's great, but does anyone know it or care? Of course not.

Because his administration doesn't tout it's achievements.

And rather than do that, he has more than enough time to go on a cheap daytime TV show like a two bit author or celebrity pushing some book or movie they're in.

It's preposterous and it's beneath the office of the Presidency. And he, his wife, or his advisors should know this.

And I support Obama, but he needs to stop undermining his own achievements with stunts like this.

Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter? Even rational GOP members don't take them seriously. Those two are walking republican talking point factories. And when confronted with the truth their arguments fall apart as dismally as those from most Republicans do.

Furthermore, they're successful because they never have to actually defend said talking points in the real world. They merely cater to a limited demographic that wants to hear their own biases and preconceptions repeated to them without being challenged.

And if such beliefs are challenged by someone who's highly intelligent, like President Obama before the GOP, they're shown for the logical fallacy filled arguments that they are.
