Bullshit.... because those other Olympic teams had PROS on them...
Why do you think they did the DREAM TEAM in the first place...
America was the ONLY country NOT using PROS...for years...
I understand why Laettner was there BUT he was a WASTE OF SPACE nonetheless...
Stockton was nowhere NEAR as good as Isiah...
NOWHERE... Isiah used to ABUSE John Stockton... He GAVE Stockton nightmares... ONLY Magic, Jordan, Hakeem the Dream and Bird were better... MAybe Karl Malone... THAT'S IT... Everybody else were LESSER TALENTS... INCLUDING SCOTTIE PIPPEN... who was a product of Jordan's success...
Sorry, but certain NBA legends are underrated, IMO.
1. Dream: C'mon, fam. Dude finished top 10 in four major statistical categories. How the fuck does he not get mentioned as POSSIBLY the best center? Championships? He got two, and that shit has far more to do with the organizations willingness/ability to bring in quality players and coaches than it does to do with any one player. Dream was not lacking in ability, so obviously his team let HIM down.
2. Zeke: Tremendous amount of game, but his heart was probably even bigger than his game. One of those dudes I respect 'cause he had zero fear of MJ.
lol @ the kissing shit..they were clowning
obviously it was politics... pippen should have used his second response for the first... Zeke deserved to be on that team more than Pippen did.
Clyde told the truth...shit was a chemistry thing and MJ and Magic didnt really like zeke...
I felt he should have been on the team above Stockton, but I understand, you had Karl Malone and you had to worry about team chemistry.
Did Chuck Daley or Magic ever fight for him?
Basically Mike didn't want him on the team and that's the reason he wasn't on the team.

The school knew the deal when they recruited Jordan's son so it shouldn't have been a surprise to them. Also he's been one of the leaders scorers there and they were ranked for awhile last year. The youngest son is a solid player just nowhere near the level of his father. And Jordan was narcissist during his playing days and that is how he raised his sons.
His son signed to a low level D1 school that had a shoe deal with Adidas and he knew that. The son wore Nike 'jordans" and caused the school to lose its sponsorship.
Of course MJ bailed them out and gave them Jordans but that will only be in play while his son is there.
In any event his son was bigger than the program and he knew their deal before he signed there.
At least MJ was a beast to back up his ego.
His sons suck ass
Zeke had problems with multiple people on the squad but when all this went down... I remember the rumor being Jordan was threatening not to play if Zeke was on the team... i remember that vividly and Jordan has never denied hating Zeke...dude dedicated an entire segment of his book to hating Zeke![]()
How was Stockton the best in the 90's... in '92... And how is it that Stockton is a better passer than Magic... Stockton was a compiler...Whose quality wasn't any better than a decent college team.
Not True... the reason... Grown Men WILL ALWAYS BEAT KIDS in Basketball... which is why Oscar Schimdt and that Brazill team KILLED USA IN THE PAN AM GAMES. Yugoslavia also had PROS on that team.
Showbiz. Money. Public relations. The usual shit. Fear of losing. (How'd subsequent "Dream Teams" do?? At least one was a huge embarrassment.)
Like you said... FEAR OF LOSING... Since everybody else was using PROS... Why not us as well.
They didn't need to. Wouldn't be fair.
We DID need to use Pros... We were getting our ass WHIPPED in International Competition.
So would've ANY college player, fool. It was a token nod to the college ranks.
Like you said, FOOL... It was a TOKEN nod to the college ranks... Did they REALLY NEED LAETTNER??? NO!!! So it was a WASTE OF A ROSTER SPACE...
No, he was way better. Especially in '92.
Stat wise... Stockton had more assists... BUT Isiah scored more... BUT head to head... Isiah used to MURDER HIM.
Stockton was the greatest PG of the '90s (and the best passing PG ever). Thomas peaked in the '80s.

Larry Bird was better... 'Nique was better...![]()
It's not exactly a secret that Thomas was an asshole and not very well-liked.

They didn't like each other.Their teams didn't like each other. And some of the tension had to do with the way Isiah acted when the Bulls were finally able to overcome the Pistons sweeping them in the playoffs.Isiah led them off of the court before Game 4 was completely over and did nothing to congratulate the Bulls for their win.And apparently that shit pissed Jordan off in a big way.

Larry Bird was a shell of his former self in 1992. Do not confuse the Larry Legend of the 80's with the old man in 1992. Dominique Wilkins did not have the overall game Scottie Pippen had and thus was not considered better than Pippen.
In 1992, Scottie was the best small forward in the NBA.
... The reason is this... Scottie was NEVER called on to carry the team... 'Nique was 28pts and 6 rebounds.. Scottie was averaging 17 pts and 7 rebounds... Who's better???...

You're out of your mind if you think Thomas was a better pg than stockton. Stockton holds records. I think it's you who needs the nap.go take a nap. it is past your bed time already.

LOL, Isiah hung 52 points on Stockton's ass after the Olympic team announcement.
It was 1992, Isiah was a All Star that year.
NCAA Basketball Tournament Most Outstanding Player (1981)
NBA All-Rookie Team (1982)
12× NBA All-Star (1982-93)
2× NBA All-Star Game MVP (1984, 1986)
3× All-NBA First Team (1984-86)
2× All-NBA Second Team (1983, 1987)

So he holds records. He also played longer than Isiah Thomas.
John Stockton:13.1 pts,10.5 asts,2.7 rebs,2.2 stls,.515 FG%
Isiah Thomas:19.2 pts,9.3 asts,3.6 rebs,1.9 stls,.452 FG%
Also Thomas could and would take over a game when necessary.Stockton did not have that ability.

I can agree with your Bird assessment... but Dominique...... The reason is this... Scottie was NEVER called on to carry the team... 'Nique was 28pts and 6 rebounds.. Scottie was averaging 17 pts and 7 rebounds... Who's better???...

"Magic addresses years of rumors by finally accusing Thomas of questioning his sexuality after Johnson was diagnosed with HIV in 1991. Magic also admits that he joined with Michael Jordan and other players in blackballing Thomas from the 1992 Olympic Dream Team, saying, 'Isiah killed his own chances when it came to the Olympics. Nobody on that team wanted to play with him. ... Michael didn't want to play with him. Scottie [Pippen] wanted no part of him. Bird wasn't pushing for him. Karl Malone didn't want him. Who was saying, 'We need this guy?' Nobody.'"
"I'm glad that he's finally had the nerve and the courage to stand up and say it was him, as opposed to letting Michael Jordan take the blame for it all these years."
