First and foremost I like to thank Kendrick for bringing lyrism hip hop back into the forefront, but with this newly anointed title comes a target for his crown and a few hungry rappers may be getting ready to challenge him.
First, there is Jid who is rumored to be unhappy with Dreamville leader J. Cole for ducking out of all heat thrown his way here's a video on how he might be getting itchy fingers and might back out of his label deal for holding him back as well as his displeasure with Coles decision to back away from Kendrick.
For those who don't know Jid, he may be the most talented all-around rapper in the mainstream, his strengths include his Kedrik-est-like wordplay/
He is also known for his crazy flows
But his biggest untapped strength might be his Q tip like voice and his ability to actually sing.
He is apparently cliqued up with Em, J. Cole, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne and Denzel Curry.
The next on the list is Denzel Curry, who is another talented suppressed rapper who many feel is ready to take the next leap.
Denzil is known for his ability to mimic different rap styles as in these cases where he is able to seamlessly tap into the vibes of the late great Wu, DMX and Bone Thugs
Not to mention the head-banging energy of Wacka Flocka
Then you have a conscious side with his ability to paint pictures with his words as a master storyteller.
And lastly, he has the versatility to even tap into the alternative rock group Rage Against the Machine.
So what does this have to do with a rap civil war and Kendrick?
Well lately some are leaning towards the theory that K-Dot is low-key throwing shots at Wayne and Em may be next. And while those two are more than capable of standing up for themselves, they both know how slick and Kendrick is, and know that they have a lot more to lose than Kendrick. So what if instead of going against Kendrick for the number one spot, they put on rappers, who they think are better worthy for their aires after they retire? And if you connect the dots, you will notice how Em Boy 50 Cent has been ominously quiet during the Drake and Kendrick beef, and how Em strategically chose Jid his feature on his Diddy diss song. Also, there is this, video of Curry talking about doing a joint collaboration album with Jid.
Now all of this is speculative opinions, and no way am I an expert in the matter, so please don't get your panties in a bunch, but once you start tugging at the thread the more it starts to make sense. Any BGOL tell me what you think, and lets have fun with it!

.. however if this inspires cats to get on their game and bring back lyricism to the forefront and not that lazy shit that's been going on.... hell yes.
