Now that Kendrick dusted off Drake Is there a rap civil war brewing in HIP HOP involving hungry rappers gunning for that top spot?

First and foremost I like to thank Kendrick for bringing lyrism hip hop back into the forefront, but with this newly anointed title comes a target for his crown and a few hungry rappers may be getting ready to challenge him.
First, there is Jid who is rumored to be unhappy with Dreamville leader J. Cole for ducking out of all heat thrown his way here's a video on how he might be getting itchy fingers and might back out of his label deal for holding him back as well as his displeasure with Coles decision to back away from Kendrick.

For those who don't know Jid, he may be the most talented all-around rapper in the mainstream, his strengths include his Kedrik-est-like wordplay/

He is also known for his crazy flows

But his biggest untapped strength might be his Q tip like voice and his ability to actually sing.

He is apparently cliqued up with Em, J. Cole, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne and Denzel Curry.

The next on the list is Denzel Curry, who is another talented suppressed rapper who many feel is ready to take the next leap.
Denzil is known for his ability to mimic different rap styles as in these cases where he is able to seamlessly tap into the vibes of the late great Wu, DMX and Bone Thugs

Not to mention the head-banging energy of Wacka Flocka

Then you have a conscious side with his ability to paint pictures with his words as a master storyteller.

And lastly, he has the versatility to even tap into the alternative rock group Rage Against the Machine.

So what does this have to do with a rap civil war and Kendrick?
Well lately some are leaning towards the theory that K-Dot is low-key throwing shots at Wayne and Em may be next. And while those two are more than capable of standing up for themselves, they both know how slick and Kendrick is, and know that they have a lot more to lose than Kendrick. So what if instead of going against Kendrick for the number one spot, they put on rappers, who they think are better worthy for their aires after they retire? And if you connect the dots, you will notice how Em Boy 50 Cent has been ominously quiet during the Drake and Kendrick beef, and how Em strategically chose Jid his feature on his Diddy diss song. Also, there is this, video of Curry talking about doing a joint collaboration album with Jid.

Now all of this is speculative opinions, and no way am I an expert in the matter, so please don't get your panties in a bunch, but once you start tugging at the thread the more it starts to make sense. Any BGOL tell me what you think, and lets have fun with it!

Another reason why I feel Jid may be gearing up to take on Kendrick's spot is that Atlanta is reeling right now from the hits taken from the aftermath of the Young Thug situation, then realizing that Andrea 3000 might release a Tuba album before dropping another rap album, and the fact that rap right now is sort of in a free fall with Drake and Diddy out the picture and not to mention Em and Wayne getting older. Kendrick is the man right now, but he is from L.A. leaving NY, the Midwest, and Atl/Downsouth factions sort of out of the loop for the first time.
But if 50 (from NYC), Wayne (from the South), and Em (from the Midwest), were to really team up to back Jid, the question is does he have enough to at least put up a better fight than Drake, talent-wise yes, in the game of entertainment it takes more than just talent, you have to be able to deliver on the big stage, but as of right now its the biggest question mark about Jid.
What's a little ironic, the same things that are being said about JID were once said about Kendrick five years ago.
Also what role will Curry play if things do pop off?

The issue would be if they could not only match KDots pen would but strategic was he dismantled Drake. Being able to put out one maybe two disses is cool, but KDot showed the ability to know what moves Drake was going to make & have the gun loaded to drop a response immediately & then ruthlessly keep his foot on his neck.

Kendrick is very strategic leaving many to speculate that he's been stockpiling dirt on Drake for years even when they were supposed to be cool. But the word out is that Em, Wayne, Jid, and Curry are aware of how he operates and have been stockpiling verses geared toward Kendrick, just in case.
This rap beef may never pop off but behind the scenes, it appears that people are gearing up and the tell sign is how Jid got mad at his label head J.Cole for not standing up to Kendrick wanting to leave and him teaming up with Em.

Kendrick brought old hip-hop back to the forefront. This is why old heads or semi old heads is excited again. Drake uses a lot of golf riders. He don’t right his own shit so I don’t know how in the world he thought he thought he was gonna get away with this

Correct, plus Drake was never really liked in the industry. But the question remains how much do people actually like Kendrick as opposed to hating Drake?
Now to be honest Kendrick has two flaws to his almost perfect rap game, one he lacks charisma and two many find his voice to be annoying at times. This is why I find it interesting that Curry and Jid may be teaming up for a joint project because they both are close to Kendrick in terms of wordplay and rapping ability, but Curry has the energy and charisma in spades while JID has that voice.
Again all of this is speculating but what else is there to do on a slow Wednesday before Thanksgiven?

As I said, you don’t have to have charisma. Let your words speak for your actions. I don’t give a damn about charisma if you have good wordplay.

Yes I agree, but when you have two rappers who are similar as in the case of Biggie and Pac and Kendrick and JID any distinction such as voice and charisma can tip the scales in their favor.

Naa...the only civil war this sparked was..dark skin niggas vs. light skin niggas..
Maybe an all out Civil war may be too harsh because I think it will be more of a Big Daddy Kane vs Rakim beef rather than a Biggie and Pac situation, but there are signs that Kendrick vs JID may actually happen.
The tipping point might be how the Kendrick Wayne situation plays out and how J. Cole handles JID current Deamville situation.

The similarities between Kendrick and JID is uncanny and many feel J. Cole is holding JID back to evolving to his final form similar to how Kendrick was held back by his lable.

Joyner still has a shot.
he's lyrical and very creative. i pretty much enjoy all of his work.

i wish King Los would have been a lot bigger a few years ago when he was poppin.......dude is a beast.....

Joyner is in a real rut right now, he has talent but his songs are lacking that umph, I think he will settle down on a good lane but he's not on Kendrick, JID or even Curry level. But as of now I think the one Kendrick has to keep his eyes on is JID.

Civil war :dunno: .. however if this inspires cats to get on their game and bring back lyricism to the forefront and not that lazy shit that's been going on.... hell yes.

If this is true shit might be ready to pop off, and unlike the Drake bullshit, folks will take sides but this time Kendrick better tread lightly because he doesn't want to come off as a clout chaser pulling others down to get up, plus Jid has always been close with Wayne and I think folks are whispering in his ear after his verse with Em, that he is better than Kendrick.

Can we have a war against white rap reaction channels? I'm so sick of these earless fucks.

Ain’t nobody touching Kendrick lyrically
Pen wise Kendrick is the GOAT but JID is very close, but where Kendrick is weak in Charisma and voice, JID is much better so it will be interesting to see how it plays out, if it does play out.
