Back again for the NoVeMBeR BeaT BaTTLe

This month's theme was incorporating Violins in your beat in some form or fashion whether sampled or unsampled/original.

DjMorpheus:
Here's mine - DIABLO'S DANCE

drowzie:
My Final Submission!!

JACQUEZ:
I will give it a shot - here's my beat - feel free to critique.

Selfscience:
I'm going theatrical with this submission for now. It makes ya head nod like this  Zippyshare is compressing the shit out of tracks. :smh: Download for better quality.

Skinnie Talls:
The original sample had no "violins" in it I took some tremelo violins and interpolated the melody. This ain't no old beat. Not sure why but the stream quality of zippyshare sounds compressed, for best results download and listen on your own source. Also do my bassline a favor and not listen through laptop speakers.

:dunno:

Winner calls the next task for JaNuaRy beat battle. Good luck to all producers.

Mods please do NOT sticky this thread, I'll bump from time to time. Sticky threads don't always show up in TAPATALK unless you request them. Thanks.

My Final Thoughts:

DJMorpheus: This beat was very musically inclined. The vibe is not my type of party but can't deny everything is there for what you where going for. Strings a lil on the "synthy" side but hey whatever works. Also this joint was like 6 mins :hmm:  "I ain't listenin to alll that" - Audio Colin

Drowzie: This is probably my favorite beat from the last couple of months. I mean it had everything the contest intended. Hard beat, eerie strings, grimy melody, drums had a good boom bap groove, I could actually hear rappers on it with out hearing rappers on it. My only critique is that in your final version you slapped that Goodfellas dialouge on there, and its funny because in my submission I had dialouge from American Gangster :hmm: I ain't saying you biting buuuuuutt... "I don't want no one sounding like me on no album son. Niggaz bit off Nas shit son.." Nah good beat tho.

Jaquez: I honestly don't know what the fuck that was. Keep banging it's all art.

Selfscience: Your progression from month to month is always there and it's obvious. You have your own sound and are mastering it. Thank you for keeping it competitive and inspiring simultaneously. Beat is rugged and raw and it has layers. I ain't mad at that at all.

Skinnie Talls(Myself): In hindsight I wanted to have a 2-4 bar violin loop with hypnotic drums and a funky bassline. I've soooo consumed with outside projects that for some reason this was the best I could muster this month. I ain't mad tho, shit bangs in the car. Kinda gives me that "Life After Death-It Was Written era vibe"

Kudos to all participants.

DJMorpheus - I agree with Skinny, that you track was musically inclined. You're track is something I would study my mathematics to. There is nothing wrong with your track whatsoever, so I believe that it would come to mood for me. Unfortunately, I'm not studying mathematics right now:lol: Chill beat.

Drowzie - As per usual you drop some dope hip-hip tracks. I'm digging the beat, son. QBC on it all day.

Jaquez - You stuck to the battle theme and utilized the violin. The beat is missing the mood. Some bass and harder hitting drums could have made the beat stick out. Your beat is like fried chicken without hot sauce or seasoning. Add a little "ump" to boost the mood of the track.

Skinney - Appreciate the feedback fam. It's been a pleasure to participate in these battles. As for your beat. Instant chill bumps for me. It embodied everything I love about gutter hip-hop music. The mood was set and the vibrations flowed.

Myself - To be honest, violin sampling is my favorite. I have many violin beats I could have chose from, but I wasn't sure the mood or direction I wanted to go. I decided to go theatrical because it was how I was feeling when I made the beat. I wanted build up and impact. I wanted the listener to envision this track to something dramatic. I hope it worked

Really appreciate the feedback guys. I have no excuses. It is what it is.

JACQUEZ - I'm really diggin this. Love the violin sample. Smooth track which I always dig. Only thing I would do is probly double that kick with a sample that has more attack on the front end, but that's me. Beat is tight tho.

SELFSCIENCE - Real nice! Definitely theatrical. I can see intro to a fight scene or cats toolin up for gunplay.

SKINNIE TAILS - shit is bangin. All the way around. I like it a lot.

DROWZIE - Mellow vibe. Type shit I like.

Nah kid i aint bite on this one. Total coincidence. i took the sample from the Cardiak Godfather pack so i was going for the gangsta element and as i was tapping the pads i look at the big screen and lo and behold, Goodfellas playing on AMC..lol...perfect timing i guess a blessing from the beat gods.

JACQUEZ: That was the foundation for an awesome Havoc type beat.

Selfscience: consistently has the most cinematic visual sound...I feel like its missing some type of thump or knock.

Skinnie Talls: thanks for taking me back to my yellow Sony waterproof auto reverse last car of the 6 train...

DjMorpheus: I don't feel qualified to even critique that...but I liked it, a lot.

Thanks for the feed back, Playa.

And lmao @ DjMorpheus. I felt the same way listening to his beat. I feel like I would be disrespectful by calling it a beat. That joint is musical!
