Not One 8th Grade Student From LeBron James' School Has Passed A Math Test Since 2020

It’s a dated paradigm used when life was a little slower for people and one income could support the entire family.

Them days are long gone.
A 4 day work week could grow business exponentially. All the money spent on weekends (now that you have 3 days), would be a boom to the economy.
1. More money spent shopping and at restaurants, movies.
2. More children being born. You got 3 days to fuck vs the only 2.

Mental health will be better too. 3 days to relax vs only 2 is a win.

The biggest issue when I was in school was that if you werent headed to college you were viewed as a loser. So counselors, and teachers, would push kids to college who had no business being there.....and honestly we have too many colleges in the first place for people who have no business being there.

In Georgia alone our tax dollars go to fund schools like:

Savannah State University:
Average GPA: 2.7
Average SAT: 940(OUT OF 1600!)
Graduation rate: 28.2%

Fort Valley State University:
Average GPA: 2.8
Average SAT: 570(OUT OF 1600!)
Graduation rate: 35.2%

Albany State University:
Average GPA: 2.9
Average SAT: 830(OUT OF 1600!)
Graduation rate: 26.9%

If the kids who wasted time going to these schools just took the same money and went into a trade they would be in a much better position, but its simply not where we push kids towards.

You have to keep in mind that those numbers also include transfers, which unfortunately, have very high numbers at a lot of small schools. Lot of kids use schools like SSU or FVSU as Junior Colleges to be able to go elsewhere. Graduation rates would likely be a good bit higher were that metric not included.

I picked those schools specifically because it paints the picture of just taking government money.

If We wanted to look at transfers we could look at GSU(Who has a bunch of kids who transfer to Tech or UGA) or even smaller technical colleges who's sole purpose in many cases are to send kids to those schools. Those kids come in with higher scores, meaning a more solid educational foundation and a more solid discipline foundation in many cases. That isnt the case with these 3 big schools.

Even taking into account transfers, how realistic do you think it is somebody with a 2.7 and a 560 SAT is going to have built the skills and discipline to complete a degree? These are 18,19,20 year olds who, even with a home discipline of some kind, showed themselves to be below average in terms of schooling and simply undisciplined. This isnt the military we are talking about either. Its school where there is nobody forcing you to go to class, not stay up and party, or not spend time doing things like frats or sororities. Sure some may change and get focused, but its not the reality for the vast majority.

Yet the elites from other countries send their kids here to learn.
That's for GRADUATE programs. International students make up the majority of GRADUATE students in the U.S.

We have enough of our own taking useless humanities shit in undergrad then complaining about debt.
It’s not emphasized in our community. It has to be nurtured and supported. Those that are good at it don’t have anyone to turn to help.

Plus, we all too often call certain maths meaningless because we don’t use it daily, but that meaningless math is the foundation for higher sciences.
Man, we have been losing to other countries since I was in grade school in the 80s in the fucking suburbs. Folks think it is just an inner-city problem, when it is a U.S. problem. Now they are lowering standards, eliminating testing, etc. The rest of the world doesn't worry about hurting feelings.

We were just discussing in the other thread about 'geek shit'. To touch on that, I got no support in school. It was 'we aint there yet' type shit which made me not interested in school. School system is broken. It is more geared as a daycare to allow people to work. Kids don't need 7-8 hours of school to learn. Especially the smarter ones who spend most class waiting for slow kids to finish a fucking test(that shit pissed me off). :angry::angry::angry:

Fools overseas get a solid education(while countries spend way less per student) and then come here to use our graduate schools.

Yep. And those foreign folk comes through as instructors on all levels at HBCUs. The only black instructors you primarily see on graduate levels comes from non-stem fields.

Covid showed me how people really felt about their kids and being a parent. Spending everyday with their kids for long hours was challenging for some. Because as you and others stated, they treat school like daycares, so they get used to being away from them.

30% of a kid’s day is in school.
About 20 to 25% of their day is sleeping.

So there you go. On average, parents spend more than half their day away from their kids. And that don’t even include the extracurricular shit :lol:

But yeah, folks overseas seems to have a stronger foundation. However, I have noticed their kids that are born here fall victim to our education system.

Same here for me in the late 90's. That graduation test was the reason a lot of niggas didn't graduate even after having good grades. At that time it was required to even walk at the graduation.

We had to pass the TAAS here in Texas in the early 90's in order to grauate. I passed all sections on my first try despite being a poor student in high school. I remember so many of my classmates crying and having to change schools just so they could graduate on time. A few of them questioned how I got lucky and passed but I was a A/B student until high school. If I had gone to a better high school I believe I would have been a better student.

I wholeheartedly agree and those that went to trade school are making way more money than people who went to college.

Most of the time depending on what trade someone wants to do, they would only need a certification to make 6 figures.
I can make 2 grand on the weekend just working on HVAC systems, which something I did early on in the military. I'll charge 350.00 to change a 15.00 capacitor, replace a 10.00 filter and clean your condenser unit using the customers water.:rolleyes: El Paso has been moving a way from swamp coolers, and getting what they call "refrigerated air". We can make all the excuses in the world, bottomline too many of these young cats look down on people who "sweat for a living". If I have to get my azz up on one of these high pitched roofs with a 30lb can of 410A, that's a minimum of $1200.00. Oh and these Mexicans like to pay in cash!:yes:

Good shit, I always knew HVAC paid good money. People overlook shit like that. Bricklayers, electricians, welders, etc are all high paying trades that a person can earn 6 figures working for themselves.

Pay these kids for good grades and see how they do in 5 years
Pay kids for freaking getting something that's free? It's not what you do in school, it's the continuation of what you do at home. You can play video games, watch some silly rap video, or hope to be the next Lebron James. Immigrant kids can't ask there parents to help them with history, science, English and math. But they will tell them "knowledge is power". I have a friend from Kenya, who grew up in the DFW area, and was told directly by his parents to keep away from black students because they don't value education. When you grow up with music telling you "Money, Hoe's and Clothes is all a N knows", the majority of us seems to take that literally.

I posted about this earlier, but I spoke to a HVAC that came out to my crib and he was telling me his benefits superceeds the benefit package for his wife who is a Teacher working in public schools.

Not sure if you ever heard of NRG, but they own the rights to the Houston Texans stadium rhttps://airtron.com/
dude got stock options and everything..I was like DAMN.

It‘s evident how y’all did in English and Language Arts…….:lol:

My bad. I dont double check my random drunk replies on this board. Only IG. Because instead of two people calling out my mistake, Id have dozens. Also, thank you for capitolizing the "p" in Public. Im sure most of the board members were confused at it being lower case.

How does the average person from Somalian family's perform in public schools in your area?

There’s actually a demographic of people that would gravitate to that career if you showed them the type of money you make and could make. The thing is nobody is informing them or approaching them. Yes there will be some individuals that are not interested cause everything ain’t for everyone but there’s still a good percentage that would jump on the opportunity. Also individuals who were incarcerated who not trying to go back but not getting job offers would probably be interested as well. Money tends to influence a lot of individuals decisions

My $0.02:

As a part of the plan to stop non-wealthy/ non-White individuals from gaining access to power and policy, the wealthy began a comprehensive, multi- step plan to privatize elementary, middle, and high schools for primary education. Originally, the barriers included standardized testing and inordinately expensive college/ graduate schools with racist admission policies. We started to overcome, so the plan got bigger. Now, we are facing:
  • Politicians/ policies that demonize and defund education as soon as they are elected;
  • A media frenzy to demonize educators and schools in general;
  • Intentional underpayment and psychological abuse/ gaslighting of classroom teachers in free public schools (which drives away quality educators);
  • Enforcement of overly permissive disciplinary policies which enable the worst kinds of student and parent behavior (which drives away even more quality educators);
  • Special education inclusion policies that push too many students into the same classroom (which requires additional instructors during a time when instructors are hard to find and slows the pace of the content)
  • Intentional employment of administrators with as little classroom experience as possible;
  • Overly permissive social promotion policies at all levels that universally override actual performance by students (this comes from tying attendance/ on-time graduation to state funding provided by schools);
  • Destruction of affirmative action admission policies;
  • A purposeful, media-based overrepresentation of Blacks in sports with an underrepresentation of Blacks in technology (which helps Black children devalue academics); and
  • Minimum wage so low that people cannot live independently or support a family (which forces a family to depend on government assistance, which reduces the tax base available for funding neighborhood schools).

I believe that any social system that concentrates wealth in the hands of only a few requires a ton of permanently poor/ working class people to keep it going, and the destruction of free education is only one way to keep this going. I could go on, but I think I've already gone Colin for this post.

How did the other grades do in math at his school?

And math is one subject. What if the other grades?
