County Emergency Official Says He Was Ill and Sleeping as Texas Floods Hit
The emergency management coordinator for Kerr County told Texas lawmakers he was asleep when the deadly July 4 floods hit the region. The admission came at the start of an extraordinary hearing on the disaster that killed 108 people in the county.
In his first public comments since the devastating Texas floods, William "Dub" Thomas said the situation "evolved faster than anyone could have predicted."
