She replies to a 7 minute song with like 8 bars, on a song with features, two weeks after it dropped. Nicki lost.
These super groupie fans/kids be so high off lean and super hybrid herb and shit, most of them wouldnt be able to comprehend REAL LYRICS. They got some shit out here thats so strong, itll make you think Rakim sound like Kodak Black.
People like to point to Kendrick, J Cole etc...and say, "See, Lyrics do sell!". But those guys are a part of a small group. The rap game is flooded with the type of shit you just heard from Nicki. For the most part, tryna sell 90s substance to the 2017 consumer is a waste of fucking time; Remy is wasting her time.
He had a few cold track, some I really like. But outside of his immediate crew and Philli, you mainly remembered Meek because you heard Rick Ross. Lets be honest here.

Meek definitely didn't come prepared for the Drake battle.... Arrogance and underestimating his opponent was his downfall.... BUT one thing is for certain.... Drake can break every sales and charts records from here to the moon.... He will always have that asterisk next to his name for people writing whole tracks for him...
And being universally recognized as number 1 is important to him no matter how much he tries to act like it doesn't...
He ended Meeks career.... But Meek ended his ascension... Those pills are tough for the both of them
Im not typing about the underground Meek, im typing about the commercial Meek that u saw on National TV. The commercial Meek didnt fizzle out because of Drake. All those L's and shit that them nerds be typing on his social media page dont mean nothing to me. Im typing about his music. Most of his recent music has been trash. Imho, that aint got shit to do with him losing motivation via Drake, that comes from not having the right tools to keep his buzz going.
Remy killed Nicki with one track. But Nicki is still gonna be relevant because she built a big fan base and she got the right team around her.
Meek was a easy target for Drake. Cause he really aint built shit. He was just on a team of a nigga who built something (Ross).
But its cool! Only a handful of artist have the type of longevity that keeps them a household name. He's had major success. Im sure Meek can retire right now and live comfortably for the rest of his life.

This ghostwriting issue is pointless in an era where lyrics are meaningless save a battle. Realize this: rappers simply pay it forward. I wrote for folks on the comeup. I dont have time now. Im on top but no time to write hits. Yeah, young blood. You write sth for some cream now. Melle Mel, Kurtis Blow, Run DMC, LL, Wayne, etc. all had writers and they also wrote for others. Jay Z bit hot lines too. Rhyme writing is an arduous task. Even Rakim would have benefitted from a ghostwriting. It prolongs their career. Without it, rhyme styles get stilted and dated. Time to grow up and outlive the naivete.
